Dancing with the Stars and America’s Next Top Model champion Nyle DiMarco appeared on an emotional segment of the hidden camera show What Would You Do? highlighting discrimination faced by the deaf.
DiMarco watched as customers reacted to the waiter at a diner who was speaking rudely and refusing service to a deaf diner while the cameras rolled, and eventually took part as the diner himself.
Both DiMarco and J.W., a deaf actor, were pleased at how quickly people stepped up to berate the waiter, and said things don’t usually happen like that in real life. In one scenario, a customer was brought to tears after it was revealed it was all acting, saying it was his heart that prompted him to step up.

Neo-Nazi, Anti-LGBTQ Extremist Conor Climo Arrested for Planning Attack on LGBTQ & Jewish People
Today, HRC responded to news of Conor Climo’s arrest. Climo was allegedly discovered to have been planning to attack a synagogue and LGBTQ bar in Las Vegas, NV.
After Climo’s arrest, FBI agents found components to build a bomb, an AR-15 rifle, a bolt-action rifle and detailed sketched images of his planned attack at an LGBTQ bar. Climo even engaged a homeless person to conduct “pre-attack surveillance” of a synagogue on his behalf. Climo was connected to other white supremacists through encrypted online conversations.
“We are extremely alarmed to hear that Conor Climo, who was arrested last night in Las Vegas, was allegedly planning to attack a synagogue & LGBTQ bar,” said JoDee Winterhof, Senior Vice President of Policy and Political Affairs at the Human Rights Campaign. “While Climo’s actions are concerning, they are not in a vacuum. Dangerous & hateful rhetoric start at the top levels of government and heavily influence the rest of American society. Each and every day, the Trump-Pence administration has sought to dehumanize LGBTQ people, undermine our rights and treat us like second class citizens. The LGBTQ community is under attack, and the Trump-Pence administration is fueling the flames.”
This comes more than three years since 49 lives — most of them Latinx — were taken in a mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando. This also comes less than two years after the deadliest mass shooting in American history in Las Vegas.
HRC supports commonsense gun violence prevention policy measures and policies aimed at addressing the epidemic of hate that has fueled anti-LGBTQ-motivated murder, assault, and discrimination. For decades, LGBTQ people have been a target for bias-motivated violence, and easy access to deadly weapons has compounded this threat. Common-sense gun violence prevention measures endorsed by HRC include banning access to assault-style rifles, expanding background checks, and limiting the ability for suspected terrorists and those with a history of domestic abuse to access guns.
According to Everytown for Gun Safety, more than 33,000 gun deaths happen every year.

A 16-year-old Reddit user said an 18-year-old guy with whom he used to hook up is now his “future stepbrother,” and his predicament has commenters divided.
“[We] did it [a] few times before our parents got together,” the original poster explains. “Then we found out about them and stopped talking to each other. Now they’re getting married, [and] we’re staying in [a] hotel, and I have to share a room with him.”

“I know it’s gonna be really awkward,” he concludes. “I don’t know what to do.”
One commenter seems to think it’s a non-issue, writing, “At the very least, catch up. Y’all spent some time together and then stopped talking. I don’t see what the issue is since y’all aren’t biologically related with years of shared experience, nor is there a power dynamic.”
Another Redditor, however, sees it as a very big issue: “Despite the comments by the horny, fantasizing guys here advising you, do anything except hook up anymore. If it leads to feelings for each other, it causes problems in your family. If it leads to conflict with each other, it causes problems in your family. If you get caught, it causes problems for your family. … You need to start working on the relationship just being more of a platonic, friendly one.”

And a third commenter advises just moving on with grace: “The best thing with these situations is to acknowledge them — make a joke about it, get it out there, and hopefully, after a while, you’ll laugh about it.”

Modesto, California has denied a permit for a ‘Straight Pride’ rally at a local park days after the event’s co-organizer went viral for causing the City Council chamber to erupt in laughter when he argued, “We’re a totally peaceful racist group.”
The AP reports: “City spokesman Thomas Reeves says the permit request was denied over safety concerns, because the group lost its liability insurance and the parks department determined the event wasn’t consistent with park use. However, Reeves says the city would allow the rally at a downtown plaza if the group proves it has insurance by Tuesday.”
