Tan France “glad [he] didn’t use protection” with Pete Davidson

Queer Eye fashion maven Tan France has given a makeover to SNL star Pete Davidson, and the two got awfully personal about the latter’s endowments.

In addition to his work on the Netflix Queer Eye revival, France hosts his own makeover show via YouTube. A recent installment featured Davidson as his guest, in which France tried to overhaul the comic’s trademark New Jersey frump.

The episode opens with the two in bend, where France quips “I’m glad that we didn’t use protection.” He also pays homage to Davidson’s “B.D.E.”–that is, his big d*ck energy. Accordingly, France also dressed Davidson in a suit with grey sweatpants.

“No, it’s embarrassing,” Davidson confessed about his rumored…ahem…talent. “Well, I guess it’s better that it’s not the other way around. I mean, I’m complaining about awesome things.”

HRC Mourns Denali Berries Stuckey, a Black Trans Woman Killed in South Carolina

HRC Mourns Denali Berries Stuckey, a Black Trans Woman Killed in South Carolina

HRC is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Denali Berries Stuckey, a Black transgender woman fatally shot in North Charleston, South Carolina, on July 20.

Stuckey, 29, was found lying by the side of a road shortly after 4 a.m., according to reports. The North Charleston Police Department has no suspects at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.

Family and friends took to social media to mourn Stuckey. “I lost my best friend, first cousin,” wrote one person. “We were more than cousin. We were like brother and sisters. I love you so much, Pooh.”

As occurs far too often in the reporting of anti-transgender violence, initial reports also misgendered and misnamed Stuckey in coverage of the crime.

Anti-transgender stigma is exacerbated by callous or disrespectful treatment too often seen from media, law enforcement and our highest elected officials. In the pursuit of greater accuracy and respect, HRC offers guidelines for journalists and others who report on transgender people.

A vigil in Stuckey’s memory will be held today, July 20, at 8 p.m. at the Equality Hub in North Charleston.

“I am heartbroken and outraged by the news of yet another murder of one of our transgender community members,” said Alliance for Full Acceptance Executive Director Chase Glenn. “Denali is the third known black trans woman to have been murdered in South Carolina since 2018.”

Tragically, Stuckey’s death is the 12th known case of deadly violence against the transgender community in 2019. All of the victims were Black transgender women

Of the more than 140 known victims of anti-transgender violence from 2013 to present, approximately two-thirds of those killed were victims of gun violence.

In November, ahead of Transgender Day of Remembrance, HRC Foundation released “A National Epidemic: Fatal Anti-Transgender Violence in America in 2018,” a heartbreaking report honoring the trans people killed and detailing the contributing and motivating factors that lead to this tragic violence.

It is clear that fatal violence disproportionately affects transgender women of color, and that the intersections of racism, transphobia, sexism, biphobia and homophobia conspire to deprive them of necessities to live and thrive.

This epidemic of violence that disproportionately targets transgender people of color — particularly Black transgender women — must cease.

Racist pageant queen says “coming out as conservative is harder than coming out as gay”

Racist pageant queen says “coming out as conservative is harder than coming out as gay

A post shared by Kathy Zhu (@katzhux) on

It’s hard being a cisgender heterosexual conservative in Trump’s America. Just ask Kathy Zhu.

The 20-year-old pageant queen was stripped of her Miss Michigan title after a string of racist tweets she wrote in 2017 and 2018 resurfaced. Now, she says “coming out as conservative is harder than coming out as gay.”

After it was learned that Zhu had posted offensive musings on her social media accounts, including attacking women who wear hijabs and saying Black people have lower IQs, officials from Miss World America decided she was too racist for their organization.

On Friday, pageant officials informed Zhu she would no longer be representing Michigan in Las Vegas later this year.

Miss World America’s State/National/Chief Director accused me of being racist, Islamaphobic, and insensitive.

They stripped me of my Miss Michigan title due to my refusal to try on a hijab in 2018, my tweet about black on black gun violence, and “insensitive” statistical tweets. pic.twitter.com/K1Btho0Pgq

— Kathy Zhu (@PoliticalKathy) July 19, 2019

Zhu has since deleted the tweets, but she insists “I stand by each and every one of my tweets on my account” and claims her racism is just a “difference of opinions.” Not only that, but she says her opinions are based in “facts.”

“It is honestly sad that the left refers to statistics and facts as racist and insensitive,” she says.

Oh, but it doesn’t stop there.

In a statement to the media, Zhu, who identifies as heterosexual, goes on to suggest that “coming out as a conservative is way harder than coming out as gay in today’s society.”

“I am very glad that I now have the opportunity to speak out about the unjust treatment of conservatives,” the statement continues. “People support that I’ve decided to stand my ground instead of compromise on my beliefs and values.”

Over the weekend, Zhu made the media rounds, where she defended her racism on national television.

After appearing on CNN, she posts a screenshot to Instagram along with the caption: “I would have never thought I’d be on CNN one day! I’m sorry I betrayed you, @realdonaldtrump.”

In 2016, Zhu appeared in a YouTube video titled “Why this 18-year-old is voting for Donald Trump” in which she said have a president who is “not politically correct” is a “good way to show the real side of what is happening in America.”

“Don’t get it twisted,” one Twitter user wrote. “Kathy Zhu was stripped of her title for disgusting tweets. Tweets that were racist. Not because she is a conservative.”

Omarosa: Mike Pence’s Nephew is a Trump Rally ‘Section Leader’ Coordinating ‘Orchestrated’ Racist Chants — WATCH

Former White House aide and Apprentice contestant Omarosa Manigault pulled the curtain back on Trump’s staged and orchestrated rallies, revealing that Mike Pence’s nephew John is a “section leader” at the cult events, leading Trump supporters in the racist chants.

Said Manigault to Al Sharpton on MSNBC: “I had to attend many of these rallies when I worked on the campaign and even in the White House. There are these section leaders who start the chant, control how long the chants go and quiet them down when they want to. … In fact, you’ll be surprised to learn that Vice President Pence’s nephew, John Pence, is one of the big coordinators of these rallies. And so this is how closely these rallies are coordinated with also what’s going on in the White House. John Pence is a very big key player in the campaign, but he’s particularly responsible for all of the staging and choreography of the campaigns and, yes, they are very much orchestrated and manufactured to get the outcome that we saw from Donald Trump saying ‘go back to your countries that you came from and if you don’t love it, leave it.’ All of that is coordinated and manufactured to stoke fear in this country.”

‘Cubby’ is a Gay-Themed Babysitting Buddy Comedy with a ‘Leather-Man’ Twist: WATCH

‘Cubby’ is a Gay-Themed Babysitting Buddy Comedy with a ‘Leather-Man’ Twist: WATCH

Cubby is a new indie comedy co-directed, written by, and starring Mark Blane which premiered at L.A.’s Outfest film festival last week and dropped an official trailer. A theatrical release is coming later this year.

Here’s the official synopsis, via Indiewire: “Mark, a misanthropic 26-year-old gay man, had been living in his mother’s garage in Indiana and working on his sexually explicit — and BDSM-themed — artwork. After moving to New York, he takes a job babysitting for 6-year-old Milo, a new best friend who fully accepts Mark, but does little to help him meet the challenges of everyday life. Falling behind on rent and running out of anti-anxiety pills, Mark finally discovers inspiration in the form of the alternative superhero, Leather-Man, who appears to him through the lens of a psychedelic cupcake. As a sexy metaphor for discipline and control, Leather-Man helps Mark onto the path for success. But not before Mark’s babysitting adventures turn from empowering, to risky, and ultimately: transformative.”

Cubby, co-directed by Ben Mankoff, also stars Patricia Richardson, John Duff, Joseph Seuffert, Rodney Richardson, Matthew Shear, Lucy DeVito, Christian Patrick, Naian Gonzalez Norvind, Peter Y. Kim, Zachary Booth, and Jeanine Serralles, and is executive produced by David France (How to Survive a Plague) and Henry van Ameringen (Love Is Strange).

MORNING MUST-READ IN TODAY’S DALLAS MORNING NEWS — THE POWERFUL BUSINESS VOICE FOR LGBTQ AMERICANS: Writes LGBTQ advocate and policy strategist Bob Witeck (@Bob_Witeck), “Business leaders often prove the crucial edge in state legislatures or city councils by insisting on fair, inclusive business climates and by helping defeat harmful anti-LGBTQ measures. Behind the scenes, and in coalitions, they never shied away from battles in Indiana, North Carolina and Arkansas, to name a handful. This spring, in Tennessee, we saw Amazon defend the right of same-sex couples to adopt  and also safeguard transgender kids in schools.
