Season four of Syfy’s The Magicians premieres this Wednesday. The show features many queer characters including fan-favorite Eliot (Hale Appleman.) The finale of season three saw the crew successfully bringing magic back into the realm, but erasing their memories in the process, while Eliot has been possessed by a monster, who is hunting down his friends. The Magicians: Wednesday, 9pm on Syfy.
The premiere of the final season of comedy Broad City airs this Thursday. Created by Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, the show stars the two creators as versions of themselves. The fictional Ilana has been queer for several seasons, but the fifth season will show Abbi dating a woman for the first time, as Jacobson herself came out as bi last year. Glazer told The New York Times, “Everyone who works with us has gotten queerer and queerer in the past six years. I swear to God.” Broad City: Thursday, 10pm on Comedy Central.
Right after Broad City, Comedy Central will premiere the new comedy The Other Two. Co-created by out writer Chris Kelly, who wrote the GLAAD Media Award-winning film Other People, the show follows an unsuccessful brother and sister whose 14-year-old brother becomes an Internet sensation. The older brother is a gay aspiring actor who rides the wave of his brother’s success. The Other Two: Thursday, 10:30pm on Comedy Central.
