Alex Pettyfer’s Thirst Trap is Giving Johnny Knoxville Naughty Thoughts

Actor Alex Pettyfer recently shared a “No shirt, no shoes, no problems” thirst trap to his Instagram after wrapping a film in the Dominican Republic.

Jackass creator Johnny Knoxville wasted no time telling Pettyfer what he thought of the photo, commenting: “Oh my, what I would do to the drawstring of those shorts! #woof.”

Pettyfer’s followers did not disagree.

Pettyfer this week released the trailer for his directorial debut, Back Roads.

HRC Equality Votes PAC Launches $520k GOTV Digital Ad Buy in Florida Ahead of Election Day

HRC Equality Votes PAC Launches $520k GOTV Digital Ad Buy in Florida Ahead of Election Day

Today, the Human Rights Campaign’s Equality Votes PAC announced the launch of a more than half million dollar GOTV digital ad blitz across Florida ahead of Election Day.

HRC is spending more than $520,000 on three digital ads aimed at getting millions of “equality voters” — voters who are willing to make issues of LGBTQ equality a key factor in their vote — to the polls across Florida. HRC is targeting these voters online with three pieces of creative: an HRC ad titled “Your Voice” as well as two PrioritiesUSA co-branded ads, all of which emphasize the power of every single vote. The ads launched over the weekend and will run across the final 10 days of the election. This is in addition to nearly $50,000 in monetary and in-kind contributions HRC has made to Florida candidates this cycle.

“For more than a year, HRC has been working to organize 3.2 million equality voters across the state to elect candidates who support LGBTQ equality and will protect the safety and dignity of all Floridians,” said HRC Senior Vice President of Communications & Marketing Olivia Dalton. “In the final week of this critical election, we’re making one of our largest investments this cycle to ensure the majority of fair-minded voters across Florida know what’s at stake and how to make their voices heard.”

Last summer, HRC launched the largest grassroots expansion in the organization’s nearly 40-year history. Since then, HRC has helped more than 30,000 people register to vote across the country, trained nearly 1,600 local advocates nationwide as volunteer leaders and logged more than 20,000 hours volunteering for HRC-endorsed candidates. HRC President Chad Griffin has traveled to more than 30 of the most competitive congressional districts in 18 states, and more than 145 HRC staff are on the ground leading GOTV efforts in 23 states, training hundreds of local organizers and volunteers across the country and educating voters about HRC-endorsed candidates. This cycle, HRC has endorsed a record 478 candidates up and down the ballot.

In Florida, HRC joined with Equality Florida and SAVE to endorse Andrew Gillum — who has been a staunch advocate for Florida’s LGBTQ community — for governor. Before marriage equality was the law of the land nationwide, Gillum fought to expand domestic partner benefits for city employees as city commissioner in Tallahassee. As governor, Gillum has pledged to install an interagency LGBTQ task force and sign the Competitive Workforce Act — legislation that would extend critically important non-discrimination protections to LGBTQ people across the Sunshine State.

In Florida’s Senate race, HRC has also endorsed for re-election Senator Bill Nelson, a cosponsor of the Equality Act, crucial federal legislation that would finally guarantee comprehensive protections for LGBTQ people under our nation’s civil rights laws.

HRC is also organizing to elect Lauren Baer, who would be Florida’s first openly LGBTQ Member of Congress, to represent Florida’s 18th District.  HRC has also endorsed Donna Shalala, Nancy Soderberg, and David Shapiro.

In partnership with Equality Florida, HRC has put staff on the ground to mobilize equality voters across the state through canvassing door-to-door, direct mail and phone banking. In partnership with Equality Florida and SAVE, HRC has also hosted four Equality Action Academy trainings to give HRC members and supporters the tools they need to take action locally in legislative advocacy and in support of pro-equality candidate campaigns.

5 ways to prep for the polls as a transgender voter

5 ways to prep for the polls as a transgender voter

I was 17 when I voted in my first midterm election. I was so excited to cast my ballot, however, after researching the candidates I couldn’t help but be disappointed. The candidates that I had to choose from didn’t always do a great job of representing the populations they were hoping to speak for, especially transgender people. So, when I see people take to social media in the aftermath of tragic events like the leak of Trump’s discriminatory memo to encourage people to vote, I understand, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I consider voting a privilege and a civic duty, but I understand that advocacy needs to start before we can even get to the polls.

I live in Ohio and our state is infamous for harsh voter ID laws and unconstitutional gerrymandering. Gerrymandering practices have gotten so despicable in my state, the ACLU filed a lawsuit. These barriers make it difficult for minority individuals to firstly cast their vote, and then ensure it will hold the weight that it should.

Strict voter ID laws like the ones in place in my state, disenfranchise transgender voters, as 68% of trans people do not have identification that match their gender identity and/or name. Even when we’re able to vote, more often than not, the candidates we have to choose from aren’t always trans inclusive in their policy or language.

In order to properly prepare for your day at the polls, GLAAD and NCTE have released helpful posts to provide assistance to queer and trans identified people throughout the voting process.

Check out 5 ways to prep before November 6:

1. Not sure if you’re prepared to head to the polls? Check off items on the #VotingWhileTrans Guide

2. Voting in Massachusetts? Vote Yes On 3, the ballot initiative that protects transgender people from discrimination.

3. Don’t believe your vote makes a difference? Read trans activist and my fellow GLAAD Campus Ambassador, Leah Juliett’s call to action for voting in progressive states.

4. Want to take action between now and November 6? Become a Digital Door Knocker for GLAAD to get out the LGBTQ vote!

5. Don’t know your states voting rules? Find out on GLAAD’s Action Center.

Have more questions? Call the National Election Protection Hotline at 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683)

For those who want to do more, there are other ways to be civically engaged. I encourage those who are able to donate directly to trans individuals who suffer due to a lack of federal and state protections in place. Donate to LGBTQ and trans specific organizations that are advocating for policies and programming that will better the lives of those at risk. Volunteer at a local LGBTQ centers, canvass for queer political candidates and encourage local legislative bodies to fill in the cracks that federal and state policies don’t cover.

FIRED UP FRIDAY MUST READ FROM HRC PRESIDENT CHAD GRIFFIN — “TRUMP EMBOLDENS THE DARKEST SIDE OF AMERICAN SOCIETY”: “Through his actions — and inactions — Trump has emboldened the peddlers of racism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, prejudice and bigotry. When any other president would seek to extinguish the flames of hate, Trump has fanned them, often for his own political gain,” Griffin writes. “When you cast your ballot, consider which candidate will actively work to curb the tide of hate, and which will embolden it — either through their rhetoric or their silence. The time has come for we as a nation to declare that enough is enough.” More from The Hill.

ICYMI — HRC SENDS FOIA REQUEST FOR ALL RECORDS OF TRUMP-PENCE ADMINISTRATION’S ATTEMPT TO REDEFINE “SEX”: “What we’re attempting to do here is get better information about how the [Trump] administration came to its conclusion that it was permissible under federal law to define ‘sex’ in a way that it’s never been defined before,” HRC Legal Director Sarah Warbelow told The Daily Beast’s Samantha Allen (@SLAwrites). More from The Daily Beast.

POWERFUL OPED FROM A SEXUAL ASSAULT SURVIVOR ON WHY MASSACHUSETTS SHOULD VOTE ‘YES ON 3’ TO PROTECT TRANS PEOPLE FROM DISCRIMINATION: “Trans people are my neighbors, colleagues and friends, and I refuse to be invoked as a reason to deny people I love the freedom and dignity we all deserve,” writes Jaclyn Friedman (@jaclynf) in WBUR.

THE COLORADOAN HAS TRACKED MORE THAN 600 ACTS OF VIOLENCE AGAINST LGBTQ PEOPLE IN THE UNITED STATES SINCE MATTHEW SHEPARD: The full database, compiled by a team of eight journalists, is available from The Coloradoan.

NOVEMBER IS NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH: Native Americans — including out congressional candidate Sharice Davids — are among the hundreds of pro-equality candidates running this year on the federal, state and local levels to better represent ALL Americans. If elected to represent Kansas’ 3rd Congressional District, Davids would be the first Native American lesbian representative to serve in Congress. More from HRC.

OSCE TAKES ACTION TO INVESTIGATE ANTI-LGBTQ ATROCITIES IN CHECHNYA: Sixteen countries at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), including the U.S., invoked the “Moscow Mechanism”, which authorizes a fact-finding mission to investigate anti-LGBTQ atrocities that have occurred in Chechnya over the last 18 months — and the Russian government’s failure to respond.  Said HRC Government Affairs Director David Stacy (@david_stacy). “With this investigation, we will finally get an objective multinational report on the atrocities against LGBTQ people in that region and the key perpetrators behind them. This is a big step toward justice for those targeted by violence, and for preventing anti-LGBTQ violence in the future.” More from HRC.

Barbra Streisand Takes the Wheel for Carpool Karaoke: WATCH

Barbra Streisand Takes the Wheel for Carpool Karaoke: WATCH

James Corden’s SUV got booted and Barbra Streisand, who just “happened to be out and about,” picked him up for an incredible session of Carpool Karaoke.

The duo led off with the Donna Summer duet “No More Tears (Enough is Enough).”

“Aren’t you lucky because I happened to be out and about! And I’m not usually.”

Streisand then warned Corden about her driving, that she recently got her license renewed and failed the test three times, and once accidentally drove onto the up ramp of a freeway.

Said Corden: “This is not what I need to hear right now. I’ve got to be honest though, if this is how I go out, I’ll take it.”

Corden joins her on “The Way We Were”,  “Imagine/What A Wonderful World”, and “Don’t Rain On My Parade”, and “Walls” from her new album.

They also discuss Streisand’s stage fright, her discussion with Tim Cook over how Siri pronounced her name, and her new anti-Trump album Walls.

It started out to be a watercolor painting that only somewhat changed. With this one I strated to think about the different communities I am connected to and that lead me to what is my responsibility to them and theirs to me. The title can change with how you feel that day… What do I have to give? Or ! Bold or Broken
