EVERY SINGLE VOTE COUNTS.

EVERY SINGLE VOTE COUNTS.

EVERY SINGLE VOTE COUNTS.

This isn’t your average Tuesday, and these aren’t your average elections.

We’ve spent the last year rallying, speaking out, calling our representatives, and demanding action — but the time has finally come to make our voices heard.

Historically, young people are the least likely to vote. In fact, less than a third of them typically hit the polls for the midterm elections. It’s time to change those statistics. We want to help the younger generation understand the magnitude of this election and the power of their voice — because the world is listening. The majority of Tinder users are young, tuned in to social issues, and, together, they have the power to change the world.

That’s why we’re reaching out to the entire Tinder community — a community that can truly make an impact with their vote — to make sure they don’t ghost the midterm elections.

Get out and vote.

It’s the single-most important thing you can do today, and it’s easy as 1.2.3.

  1. Find polling sites near you
    Visit RocktheVote.org for details

2. Cast your vote
Go to the polls. Exercise your right. Use your voice.

3. Share the message
Tweet your pic of you leaving the polls with your “I voted” sticker. Hashtag it #EverySingleVote @tinder and tag a friend, or 50 friends…whatever you can do to get the message across. If you’re one of the first 200 people to participate, we’ll give you a little bit of time back with a free 30-minute Boost*. Once you make it through the line at the polls, your free Boost will bring you to the front of the line on Tinder ?

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) Attacks GOP House Fund for Supporting a Gay Candidate: WATCH

White supremacist Rep. Steve King attacked the National Republican Congressional Committee on Monday night for supporting a gay candidate. A clip of King’s remarks was posted to Twitter by a Democratic tracker.

FLASHBACK: Rep. Steve King Says Gay Marriage Ruling Allows for Unions Between Men And Lawnmowers

Said King: “They sent money over to support a candidate in a primary in California who had a same-sex partner that they put all over glossy mailers. I don’t know if they were holding hands or what was the deal. Man, that’s hard to write a check to those guys when they do that, so I’m hoping we get conservative leadership in the House.”

Now @SteveKingIA is attacking the NRCC for backing a gay candidate:

Huffpost reports: “King didn’t identify which candidate he was referring to, but Republicans supported former San Diego City Councilman Carl DeMaio, who is gay, for a House seat in 2014. Last week, Rep. Steve Stivers (R-Ohio), the NRCC chair, condemned King over his increasingly racist rhetoric and behavior, saying in a tweet that “we must stand up to white supremacy and hate in all forms.”  The eight-term Iowa congressman’s overt embrace of white supremacists in the U.S. and abroad has sparked a backlash among donors and the business community, with companies including Intel and Land ’o Lakes dropping their financial support for his re-election.”

‘Masshole’ Explains Why He’s Voting ‘Yes on 3′ to Keep Massachusetts’ Transgender Rights Law: WATCH

Massachusetts voters will be asked to vote on Question 3 on Tuesday. It’s a first-of-its-kind effort to repeal the state’s landmark transgender rights law that will no doubt be duplicated across the country should it succeed.

A new ad featuring a tough-talking, no-nonsense, bar-frequenting “Masshole” explains why voting Yes on 3 (to keep the law) fits within the state’s ethos.

Says the M-hole in a thick Boston accent littered with expletives: “We bang U-ies wherever we want — no blinkah. We cut you off on the Pike, and then we slow it right the f**k down. And the second that light turns green, I’m honkin’. We use our grandmothers’ furniture to save our pahking spots. We drop our Rs and put them back in words that don’t even have ’em. Manhattan clam chowder? The f**k is that.”

He goes on, before changing gears a bit: “You know, our forefathers originally granted us this right, to be loud, proud, occasionally obnoxious, and that freedom is so important to us. So, who are we to take away our neighbors’ liberties or revoke the law that protects their right to live a life free from discrimination? Or be biased against someone based on the gender they identify with? We’re Massholes, but we’re no a**holes.”

Vote YES on 3.

LISTEN NOW: Barbra Streisand partners with GLAAD on a message to voters: “Send a strong message that America is better when we stand together”

Global icon Barbra Streisand just released a message for LGBTQ people and allies to vote tomorrow, November 6, during the midterm election. The pre-recorded call from Streisand is being made to GLAAD members and supporters across the nation.

Here’s the message from Streisand:

Hi, this is Barbra Streisand.

Tuesday is a critical election for LGBTQ people and all marginalized communities.  And I’m working with GLAAD to help ensure the largest turnout ever of LGBTQ and ally voters in a midterm election.

Tomorrow, I hope you will join me at the polls to send a strong message that America is better when we stand together.  Go to GLAAD.org/vote to get information about how to vote in your state, and let’s make history together.

Earlier this month, Columbia Records released WALLS, the new album by Streisand. It’s Streisand’s first album consisting primarily of original songs since 2005. This album encompasses a unified social theme, and is notable for being a rare instance of political views entering her music. The album features the contemporary up-tempo single “Don’t Lie To Me,” which Streisand co-wrote. The song shares the guiding principles and values she has believed in, spoken about, and fought for her entire life…the truth.

Fans can obtain Walls today HERE.

Over the course of her astonishing career, Streisand has recorded a number of songs that address the human condition. Recognized as one of the foremost interpreters of contemporary song, “Don’t Lie To Me,” and the other songs on Walls are sure to add to her enduring legacy as an award-winning singer and songwriter. In 1977, she became the first woman to win an Oscar for composing the music to the timeless standard “Evergreen” (Love Theme from A Star Is Born), which also went on to win the Grammy for Best Original Song and the Golden Globe. In addition, she has been duly recognized throughout her career for compositions on film projects emblematic of her songwriting gifts.

Streisand is the only recording artist in history to achieve a #1 Album in six consecutive decades. She has recorded 52 gold, 31 platinum and 13 multi-platinum albums in her career. She is the only woman to make the All-Time Top 10 Best Selling Artists list. Streisand has had 34 albums make the Top 10 on the US charts, the only female artist to have achieved this milestone, tying her with Frank Sinatra. She is also the female artist with the most number one albums in Billboard’s history. Widely recognized as an icon for her artistic achievements, she has been awarded two Oscars, ten Grammys including two special Grammys, five Emmys, three Peabodys, and eleven Golden Globes including the Cecil B. DeMille Award. In 2015, President Barack Obama presented her with the highest civilian honor the United States bestows, the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She had already received the National Medal of Arts from President Clinton in 2000.
