Trump Fires Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Replaces Him with Loyalist Who Will Oversee Mueller Probe

Donald Trump fired Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Sessions ‘resigned’ at Trump’s request and Trump replaced him with  Sessions’ chief of staff Matthew Whitaker, a loyalist who wrote a column for CNN last year asserting that special counsel Robert Mueller was going too far with his investigation.

Wrote Whitaker in the column: “It does not take a lawyer or even a former federal prosecutor like myself to conclude that investigating Donald Trump’s finances or his family’s finances falls completely outside of the realm of his 2016 campaign and allegations that the campaign coordinated with the Russian government or anyone else. That goes beyond the scope of the appointment of the special counsel.”

The Hill reports: “The move means that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will no longer oversee the federal Russia investigation, which he has looked over since Sessions recused himself early last year due to his work on Trump’s campaign.”

Rosenstein headed to the White House after the firing for a “preplanned” meeting on a “substantive matter.”

Trump tweeted about the departure: “We are pleased to announce that Matthew G. Whitaker, Chief of Staff to Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the Department of Justice, will become our new Acting Attorney General of the United States. He will serve our Country well……..We thank Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his service, and wish him well! A permanent replacement will be nominated at a later date.”

The move comes amid chatter that Mueller is planning indictments, and that Donald Trump Jr. is concerned about being indicted.

Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi has already pledged to make sure Mueller’s “documentation is preserved” and the likely next House speaker also holds in her back pocket the threat of launching impeachment hearings against Trump if the president tries to oust Mueller or if the special counsel’s investigators ultimately uncover a smoking gun involving criminal behavior.”

Ezra Miller Doesn’t Identify as Male or Female, Says Director and Producer of ‘Gay Revolution’ Movie Harassed Him

Ezra Miller is profiled in The Hollywood Reporter this week and revealed his #MeToo moment and spoke about his sexual orientation.

Miller said that he had never shared his story of harassment, but didn’t go into too many specifics: ‘This bleeds into Miller’s own #MeToo moment, which he has never shared, with an unnamed director and producer. “They gave me wine and I was underaged,” he recalls. “They were like, ‘Hey, want to be in our movie about gay revolution?’ And I was like, ‘No, you guys are monsters.’” He’s on a roll now. “It’s a great f**kin’ age of being like, ‘You know what? That sh*t’s unacceptable,’ And it’s amazing for a lot of us to watch. ‘Cause, like, we all knew it was unacceptable when we f**king survived it. That’s what Hollywood is. I thought we all knew we were sex workers.””

Miller also spoke about his sexual orientation and not identifying as anything: “Yeah, absolutely. Which is to say, I don’t identify. Like, f**k that. Queer just means no, I don’t do that. I don’t identify as a man. I don’t identify as a woman. I barely identify as a human.”
