Kevin Spacey’s Frank Underwood is Dead in New ‘House of Cards’ Trailer
Netflix has wasted no time burying Kevin Spacey’s character in the new House of Cards teaser, which features Claire Underwood at the grave of her husband. The new season airs November 2.

— House of Cards (@HouseofCards) September 5, 2018
Last November, an allegation against Spacey by actor Anthony Rapp snowballed into an avalanche of similar accusations including filmmaker Tony Montana, who said that Spacey groped him in public in 2003, and the actor Roberto Cavazos.
That was followed by an as yet unnamed man who claimed Spacey raped him at 15, and 8 crew members on House of Cards who said they were harassed by Spacey as well as a London bartender who said Spacey flashed him and then tried to shut him up with an expensive watch.
Former Boston TV news anchor Heather Unruh said Spacey sexually assaulted her teen son on Nantucket in 2016.
Spacey was subsequently dumped by his agency, CAA, his publicist Polaris, and also by Netflix.
In July, it emerged that London’s Metropolitan Police were investigating three new claims of sexual assault by Spacey. Fellow actor Guy Pearce also said Spacey had once been“handsy” with him.

Chris Cuomo and Seth Meyers Mull Brett Kavanaugh’s Cowardly Reaction to Parkland Victim’s Father and the White House Lie About It: WATCH
One much-discussed moment at yesterday’s confirmation hearing for Trump SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh happened when Fred Guttenberg, the father of a victim of the Parkland mass school shooting, approached Kavanaugh to shake his hand. Kavanaugh responded with cowardice, refusing to shake Guttenberg’s hand before being escorted off by security.
More telling was the White House’s response to the moment. CNN’s Chris Cuomo discussed it with Seth Meyers (above).
Said Cuomo: “I believe you will see the judge recognize the man and the gesture. He does nothing. Turns away. And then security escorts him. The White House says I’m completely wrong, that the video is clear evidence of the judge wanting to connect, not having time because he was whisked away by security.”
After watching the video, Cuomo adds: “The father of one of the kids who was murdered at Parkland reaches out his hand, says his name, and you don’t shake their hand. Now, first thing we have to do is give the judge an ability to explain, okay? What was your understanding of it? Why did it happen that way? My concern about it is twofold. We are not allowing ourself to disagree with anybody with decency any more. The president very much foments that. The second thing is the ‘don’t believe your lying eyes’ stuff that comes out of the White House…That was clear evidence that it wasn’t the judge turning away from a man with their outreached hand? I mean, it’s just crazy talk.”
Cuomo and Meyers went on to talk about the reports in Bob Woodward’s book, Fear.
And why Republicans embrace Trump:

ONE YEAR AFTER TRUMP GAVE ORDER TO DISCRIMINATE AGAINST DREAMERS, WE NEED ACTION: “It makes no sense why the Trump-Pence White House would continue to attempt to terminate a program that helps young people live productive lives and makes our country stronger,” said HRC Government Affairs Director David Stacy. “We have arrived at this point because Donald Trump and Mike Pence have spent the past 20 months fanning the flames of anti-immigrant sentiment , further dividing the American people and harming more than a million Dreamers, including 75,000 LGBTQ young people.” More from HRC.
HEARINGS CONTINUE FOR ANTI-LGBTQ SCOTUS NOM BRETT KAVANAUGH: During yesterday’s hearing, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) highlighted his support for the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), which could grant businesses a license to discriminate against LGBTQ people. Kavanaugh’s record indicates that he, too, supports such discriminatory application of the law. Also during the hearing, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) pointed out the dangers Kavanaugh’s confirmation poses for reproductive rights. More from Vox and PBS.
WHAT WE’RE WATCHING WEDNESDAY: The Trump-Pence administration is banking on SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh to help dismantle the ACA — a move that would put countless LGBTQ people at risk. Meet Laura McLean, a mother from Maine fighting against Kavanaugh on behalf of her trans son Jack. Watch here.
EQUALITY VOTERS ARE TURNING OUT FOR PRO-EQUALITY CANDIDATES: USA Today’s Maureen Groppe (@mgroppe) writes, “In a midterm election in which Democrats have more Senate seats to defend — including several in ‘Trump states’ — vulnerable Democrats like [Senator Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND)] could benefit from the growing political power of the LGBTQ movement. A record number of LGBTQ candidates are running for office. And the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has significantly expanded its grassroots activity in an effort to ‘pull the emergency brake on the Trump-Pence administration’s hate-fueled agenda.’” More from USA Today.

Seth Meyers on Trump’s ‘Absurd’ Nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to SCOTUS: It’s Like ‘Bonnie’ Appointing ‘Clyde’ — WATCH
“Let’s just step back for a moment and consider the fact that Trump is trying to appoint someone to a lifetime seat on the Supreme Court while simultaneously being implicated in a truly staggering number of criminal cases and corruption scandals,” said Seth Meyers at the opening of his ‘Closer Look’ at the Kavanaugh hearing. “That’s like Bonnie getting arrested and saying, ‘You know who would make a great judge?….Clyde.’”
Meyers then took viewers through the laundry list of advisers and staffers who are currently in trouble with the law, including Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, Michael Cohen, Michael Flynn, George Papadopoulos, Chris Collins, and Duncan Hunter.
Meyers then looked at Trump’s weekend tweets in which he attacked the Department of Justice for not covering for the Republicans involved in corruption scandals.
“Not only is Trump corrupt but he is obvious about it. He’s like a guy who tries to pick your pocket from the front.”
Meyers then turned to the Bob Woodward book and the conversations Trump had with his lawyers that are detailed in the book, specifically a discussion Trump had with lawyer John Dowd in which he tried to convince Dowd that he’d be a good witness.
“You would not be a good witness,” Dowd replied.
Meyers also talked about the conversation Woodward had with Trump during which Trump realized the book would be negative.
Quipped Meyers: “He’s like a guy who doesn’t understand why he’s being dumped. I’m breaking up with you because you’re dumb, annoying, selfish, ugly, and I don’t like you, and I’m not attracted to you in any way.”
Meyers continued that it’s “absurd,” given the above circumstances, that Trump should be allowed to appoint Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. And Republicans are trying to market him as a “car pool dad” who is perfectly harmless, despite the fact that they’re hiding thousands of background documents on him.
Meyers then looked at the first day of the Kavanaugh hearings, and the Democrats’ failed attempt to obstruct them, as well as Chuck Grassley’s pathetic gavel banging.
