My wild guess is that you’ve recently been released into the dating ocean. Welcome! I too, am swimming in that very same sea, and after an in-depth self discovery while spending several months in Brazil studying behavioral analysis, I came to the conclusion that everyone should date themselves and dive into self-loving habits before considering […]

MORE PARDONS. Trump pardons extremist ranchers involved in standoff with U.S. government: ‘President Donald Trump on Tuesday pardoned two eastern Oregon ranchers serving time in federal prison for setting fire to public land in a case that inflamed their supporters and gave rise to the armed takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. The decision will free Dwight Hammond Jr., 76, and son Steven Hammond, 49, convicted in 2012 of arson on Harney County land where they had grazing rights for their cattle. They were ordered back to prison in early 2016 to serve out five-year sentences.’

INDIA. High court deliberation on decriminalization of homosexuality begins: “On Tuesday, a panel of five judges headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra heard legal arguments against Section 377 of the Indian penal code, which bans gay sex. The case could have a wide-ranging impact on how lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender citizens are treated across the subcontinent.”
CHUCK SCHUMER. On Trump’s nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to SCOTUS: “Why did the president stick with Kavanaugh? Because he’s worried that Mr. Mueller will go to the court and ask that the president be subpoenaed. … And President Trump knows that Kavanaugh will be a barrier to preventing that investigation from going there,” Schumer said during a rally with Senate Democrats outside the Supreme Court.”

Former OSU Wrestler: Jim Jordan ‘Snickered’ When I Told Him About Team Doctor’s Sexual Abuse
Another former OSU wrestler is speaking out about GOP Rep. Jim Jordan’s willful ignorance of sexual assault by the team doctor while he was OSU wrestling coach.
The former wrestler said he doesn’t have any personal grudges against Jordan — he supported him when he first ran for office, despite identifying as a Democrat. He remembers directly telling Jordan about Strauss’ behavior.
“I remember coming up and saying, ‘Strauss held my balls longer than normal.’ He just snickered.”
The former wrestler recalled one time when he went into the wrestling room at OSU and a few athletes and Jordan were “clumped together.” He said he remembered saying, “something to the effect of ‘his hands are cold as s**t; he checked out every hair on my ball,’” and said Jordan replied, “I have nothing to do with this” and walked away.
“He’s sitting here and directly lying,” the former wrestler said, adding that fellow former wrestler Mike DiSabato is being “absolutely truthful.”

Human Rights Campaign Endorses Danny O’Connor for U.S. Congress
HRC announced its endorsement of Danny O’Connor for U.S. House in Ohio’s 12th Congressional District in the special election to be held on August 7, 2018.
“Danny O’Connor is a proven leader who will stand up in the U.S. Congress for Ohio’s working families, and work to move equality forward across the Buckeye State,” said HRC Ohio State Director Shawn Copeland. “HRC is proud to endorse his bid to represent the people of Ohio’s 12th District in Congress, and we look forward to his victory in the special election on August 7.”
“If you work hard and play by the rules, you deserve to get ahead, no matter what zip code you’re from, who you love, or how you identify,” said Danny O’Connor. “It’s my honor to be an ally of our proud LGBTQ community and their loved ones, and I’m humbled to be endorsed by the Human Rights Campaign and the women and men who came before them in the fight for equality. We’ve got to defend that legacy, and I stand ready to fight for equality as a member of Congress.”
Throughout his entire career and as the current Franklin County Recorder, O’Connor has championed equality, justice and fairness for all of Ohio’s working families. As a staunch advocate for LGBTQ equality, O’Connor supports marriage equality; legislation to increase funding for HIV and AIDS prevention and treatment; and the Equality Act, landmark federal legislation that would provide the same basic nondiscrimination protections to LGBTQ people as other protected groups under federal law. In 2015, O’Connor also submitted an amicus brief in support of the petitioners in the Obergefell v. Hodges marriage equality case at the Supreme Court of the United States.
In Ohio, HRC has identified more than 1.8 million “Equality Voters” — voters who support LGBTQ-inclusive policies including marriage equality, equitable family law, and laws that would prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. HRC has prioritized investments and organizing in Ohio in the 2018 cycle, and has already put staff and resources on the ground in the state. Last year, HRC announced a coast-to-coast campaign called HRC Rising, which represents the largest grassroots expansion in the organization’s 38-year history.
