Police Halloween Crackdown On Motorcyclists Driving ‘Recklessly’ In London In Organised ‘Ride Out’ Events

Police Halloween Crackdown On Motorcyclists Driving ‘Recklessly’ In London In Organised ‘Ride Out’ Events
Police are planning a crackdown on anti-social behaviour over the Halloween period carried out by “ruthless” motorcyclists in central London.

The operation comes after police attended “ride out” events for the past two years, which saw large numbers of motorcyclists gathered in several locations across the capital and rest of UK.

The Metropolitan Police Service said the drivers’ intent was to “cause disruption and anti-social behaviour”.

Such incidents include motorcyclists driving “recklessly”, on the wrong side of the road, through red lights and across pavements. Police said that many of the motorcycles used were stolen.

Police said that many of those taking part in the ride outs are linked to the group ‘UK Bike Life’.

Superintendent Tania Coulson, spokesperson for the Met, said: “In the past, these groups have caused criminal damage to petrol stations and put themselves and members of the public at great risk by driving recklessly in large groups through the streets of London.

“We know that some people may see the event advertised and think they are joining like-minded enthusiasts on a lawful ride. This is not the case. They drive ruthlessly and carry out stunts on the road.

“Officers will be out across London throughout the Halloween period and will deploy a number of police tactics to prevent riders from driving dangerously.

“We intend to prevent disorder and crime caused by riders and we will be dealing robustly with offenders.

“Any groups or individuals who cause disruption will be arrested.”

This year’s crackdown comes after several arrests were made last year when more than 200 motorcyclists gathered for a Halloween “ride out” in Birmingham and Solihull.

During the incident, 100 masked bikers surrounded a police van in Yorkminster Drive in Chelmsley Wood and the fire service also reported that a group had attempted to stop them from responding to an emergency call.

Meanwhile in Leeds, a group of about 50 people on off-road motorcycles and quad bikes brought a busy road to a standstill.

Woody Harrelson’s Dinner Date With Donald Trump Did Not End Well

Woody Harrelson’s Dinner Date With Donald Trump Did Not End Well

Actor Woody Harrelson has recalled the “brutal” meal he once had with President Donald Trump.

On Friday’s broadcast of “Real Time with Bill Maher,” the star of the upcoming Lyndon B. Johnson biopic “LBJ” explained how he was invited along to the 2002 dinner with the future president by retired pro-wrestler Jesse Ventura.

Trump was trying to convince Ventura to be his running mate on the 2004 Democratic presidential ticket, said Harrelson.

The meal itself was “brutal,” Harrelson told the show’s host, Bill Maher. “I never met a more narcissistic man. He talked about himself the whole time. You could see the standard he was going to bear.”

“I had to walk out halfway through to smoke a joint just to like steel myself from the rest of it,” he added.

‘Strictly Come Dancing’: Anton Du Beke Weighs In On Same-Sex Couples Row

‘Strictly Come Dancing’: Anton Du Beke Weighs In On Same-Sex Couples Row
Anton Du Beke has become the latest star to wade into the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ same-sex couples row, giving his verdict on whether competing celebrities should be allowed to be paired with someone of the same gender.

The discussion has been ongoing during the current series, and the likes of Susan Calman, Judge Rinder and Will Young have all had their say on the matter.

Now, veteran pro dancer Anton has shared his thoughts, expressing concern over how same-sex couples would affect the judging.

The Sun reports that he “declined” to answer whether he would dance with a man if the BBC asked him to, telling the paper: “My only problem with it is, if you’re dancing same sex couples against opposing sex couples, it’s difficult to match apples and pears.

The debate hit headlines earlier this year, when  Susan Calman was forced to speak out on her decision to dance with man, rather than a woman.

Susan, who is married to a woman, expressed her frustration at having to defend her choice, stating: “I think what annoyed me slightly is that I seem to be getting it in the neck.”

For 2017, Anton has been partnered with ‘Loose Women’ anchor Ruth Langsford and for Halloween week the pair will be dancing a ‘Bewitched’-themed routine.

See what their fellow ‘Strictly’ couples will be shimmying along to to here.

‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers: Pat Phelan Actor Connor McIntyre Reveals What’s Next After Double Murder

Just when we thought Pat Phelan couldn’t possibly get any worse in ‘Coronation Street’, Friday’s (27 October) episode saw him orchestrate a double murder.

After forcing Andy Carver to shoot Vinny Ashford, Pat went back on his promise to free Andy and turned the gun on him too, before dumping both of their bodies into a lake.

Following the explosive scenes, Connor McIntyre – who plays Phelan – has revealed at what’s to come, hinting that his character will face justice.

When asked if the soap gods will get Phelan back, Connor said: “It must be so and we have just woken them up out of their slumber – ‘Hey, this needs sorting out.’

“But while we run up to that, whenever that is, Pat Phelan is now a very dangerous person. Now he’s crossed the rubicon whereas before he would go to great lengths, for example the cellar, complicating things.

“The journey towards his comeuppance will be very lively I’m sure, because now he has a direct root to solving problems.”

The coming weeks will see a handful of characters, including Anna Windass, become more and more suspicious of Phelan, but viewers will have to wait and see whether he gets found out.

The plot is one of a number of storylines that will keep viewers enthralled in the run-up to Christmas and there’s even been suggestions that Phelan could kill again.

First Charges Filed In Robert Mueller’s Russia Election Meddling Probe

First Charges Filed In Robert Mueller’s Russia Election Meddling Probe
The first charges have been filed in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 US presidential election.

Anyone charged could be arrested as soon as Monday, reports CNN.

The documents, approved by a federal grand jury in Washington, are sealed under orders from a federal judge, the network said.

Mueller has filed charges? Arrests as soon as Monday? We’re at the part of the mob movie where its going in slow mo & opera music is playing
Only hours before the news Trump had tweeted it was “commonly agreed” that there was no evidence of collusion.
It is now commonly agreed, after many months of COSTLY looking, that there was NO collusion between Russia and Trump. Was collusion with HC!
Last month it was revealed the FBI had searched the home of Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman as part of the investigation.

The Washington Post reported that “documents and other materials were seized” during the raid on July 26.

One day before, Manafort had met with Senate Intelligence Committee investigators to discuss a meeting between a Russian lawyer and members of Trump’s campaign team that took place during the 2016 presidential election.

Manafort “answered their questions fully,” their spokesman said.

On June 27, Manafort retroactively registered as a foreign agent thanks to $17.1 million his firm was paid from 2012 to 2014 for lobbying work he did on behalf of a pro-Russian political party in Ukraine.

Fox’s Sean Hannity, Trump’s softball interviewer of choice, appeared to be stretching for an adequate explanation of the developments.

Mueller’s team is reportedly also looking into a dossier containing explosive, unverified allegations regarding Trump and his associates, compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele for the research firm Fusion GPS.

US intelligence agencies concluded in January that Russia interfered in the election to try to help Trump defeat Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton through a campaign of hacking and releasing embarrassing emails, and disseminating propaganda via social media to discredit her campaign.

Mueller is investigating whether Trump campaign officials colluded with those Russian efforts.

He is also examining other possible crimes, including obstruction of justice, money-laundering and tax evasion.

Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller, declined to comment to Reuters about the CNN report on Friday.

Trump, a Republican who was elected president last November, has denied allegations that his campaign colluded with Russians and condemned investigations into the matter as a witch hunt.

The Kremlin has denied the allegations.

Mueller was appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in May to investigate possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Russian officials during the 2016 presidential election.

This followed President Donald Trump’s controversial decision to fire FBI Director James Comey amid the agency’s investigation into the campaign connections.

Mueller is a former prosecutor and served as FBI director from 2001 to 2013.

As Special Counsel he has sweeping powers and the authority to prosecute any crimes he uncovers.

Mueller’s broad mandate gives him not only oversight of the Russia probe, but also “any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation”.
