Jim Carrey was not having lighthearted banter about fashion icons when he encountered E! News correspondent Catt Sadler on the red carpet at New York Fashion Week.

When asked what he was doing there, Carrey replied: “There’s no meaning to any of this. I wanted to find the most meaningless thing I could come to and join and here I am. You’ve got to admit it’s completely meaningless.”

When Sadler objected, saying “they’re celebrating icons inside,” Carrey chortled.

“Celebrating icons! Boy, that is just the absolute lowest aiming possibility that we could come up with. It’s like, icons. Do you believe in icons?”

“We don’t matter,” Carrey added. “That’s the good news.”

Everyone Should Hear Chelsea Handler’s Brutal Message to Trump About Dreamers: WATCH

Chelsea Handler tore Trump a new one on the latest episode of her Netflix show, delivering a damning denunciation of the DACA decision which had her audience erupting in cheers.

“I would like to apologize on behalf of the entire Trump administration,” said Handler. “We’re sorry for making it clear that white supremacists and Nazis are welcome in this country, while young hardworking immigrants brought here as children are not. “

She added:

“The average Dreamer got here at the age of 6, was raised in the U.S. and knows no other country than this one. Dreamers are our co-workers, our neighbors, and our friends. They defend our country and were some of the first responders saving people in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. These young people are the American dream. 91 percent of them are employed and 99 percent of them have no criminal record. That means they’ve never obstructed justice, colluded with Russia, defrauded people through a fake university, funneled millions of taxpayer dollars into their businesses, falsely accused people of wiretapping them, carelessly talked to a Korean dictator with nuclear weapons, bragged about sexual assault or pardoned a racist maniac. So…”

Concluded Handler, following a rousing ovation from her audience:

“It doesn’t matter what a president who has had everything handed to him on a piss-gold platter thinks about them because we’re going to stand up and defend their right to be here.”

John Oliver: Trump is ‘Clearly Out of His F—ing Mind’ — WATCH

John Oliver returned from several weeks away on HBO’s Last Week Tonight and got caught up on all the stuff Trump’s been up to since he’s been away, including his deal with Democrats on the debt ceiling, and his creepy note to North Dakotans that Ivanka calls him “daddy.”

Said Oliver:

“His 35-year-old daughter calls him ‘Daddy’ and he likes it. That is just one of those facts that on some level I already knew I just never wanted to have confirmed. It’s like when someone AirBnbs your place they literally ejaculate on everything or, if I was there for the Manson murders, I probably would have stabbed someone. I’m not good with peer pressure.”

Oliver also commented on Trump’s decision to end the Deferred Admissions for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) immigration policy, and then his statement that he’d revisit the decision:

Oliver later laid into Trump’s pardon of Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

The Week reports:

He ran though Arpaio’s inhumane, even deadly, treatment of inmates at his jails — not even prisons — and his selective application of law enforcement. It wasn’t until more than 10 minutes into the 14-minute segment that Oliver even brought up the reason Arpaio needed Trump’s pardon: obstruction of justice stemming from racial profiling.

Unlike Trump’s stated rationale for pardoning Arpaio, “he was not ‘just doing his job,’ Oliver said. “He was also doing something illegal. You wouldn’t say that John Wayne Gacy was just doing his job, even though he was, by all accounts, a pretty good birthday clown.” The real problem with Trump’s pardon is that “Arpaio broke the rules he was sworn to uphold, rules that are put in place to protect citizens from a government going out of control,” Oliver said, and Trump thinks that’s a good thing.
