Trump: I Wouldn’t Have Appointed Jeff Sessions If I Knew He Was Going to Recuse Himself from Russia Probe

Trump: I Wouldn’t Have Appointed Jeff Sessions If I Knew He Was Going to Recuse Himself from Russia Probe

Trump meltdown

Donald Trump gave an interview to the New York Times which revealed his thoughts on his suspicious second meeting with Vladimir Putin, special counsel Robert Mueller, James Comey, and Jeff Sessions.

The NYT reports:

“Jeff Sessions takes the job, gets into the job, recuses himself, which frankly I think is very unfair to the president,” he added. “How do you take a job and then recuse yourself? If he would have recused himself before the job, I would have said, ‘Thanks, Jeff, but I’m not going to take you.’ It’s extremely unfair — and that’s a mild word — to the president.”

Mr. Trump also faulted Mr. Sessions for his testimony during Senate confirmation hearings when Mr. Sessions said he had not met with any Russians even though he had met at least twice with Ambassador Sergey I. Kislyak. “Jeff Sessions gave some bad answers,” the president said. “He gave some answers that were simple questions and should have been simple answers, but they weren’t.”

Trump also said that his second, private meeting with Putin was very brief and they discussed….adoption. He said that he believed former FBI Director James Comey held the Russia (golden showers) dossier over his head as leverage, and that he was open to firing special counsel Robert Mueller, particularly if his investigation veered from Russia into Trump’s business dealings.

In related news, three major figures in the Russia investigation — Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, and Paul Manafort — have been scheduled to testify before congressional intelligence committees next week.

Shortly after the “Paparazzi” performance went viral, Chance was invited on Ellen DeGeneres’s show and subsequently became the first artist signed to her label, eleveneleven.

Wrote Chance, who’s now 19, on Instagram:

The decision to write this came after I received a message from a brave individual. Such message inspired me to shed light on an aspect of my private life which I have kept distant from my career in music.

I came to fully recognize that I was gay when I was sixteen. I decided not to publicize my sexuality largely due to a matter of privacy, as I was still trying to find comfort and confidence within my own skin. Further, I always found conversations regarding music, politics, art, books – and the greatness of Nas’ catalog – to be far more interesting than what type of guy I was into. This is still true today.

While this message is most definitely overdue, I encourage anyone who is navigating their sexuality to devote as much time as they need to the process of finding self-confidence, self-acceptance, and self-love. Hell, for me, it took years to write this message. Nevertheless, I figured now was the time to let a few more friends know that I am happy, I am here for you, and I am proud of who I am.

Cheers
