Officer Accused Of Underage Scandal May Have Been Framed By His Con Man Boyfriend

Earlier this month, we told you about Sgt. Jonathan E. Moore, a 35-year-old Schenectady police sergeant currently under investigation for highly suspicious business dealings, particularly an alleged attempt to buy a sports car with a counterfeit check.

As Times Union reports, it’s now looking as though Moore was framed by his boyfriend, a conman named Anthony F. Aubin.

There’s also no evidence to support the claim that Moore was involved in underage “breeding” parties or was sexually involved with a teenage boy.

“At this point it does not appear like our guy did anything wrong,” Albany police Chief Brendan Cox told the paper.

While at a Colonie auto dealership with Aubin, Moore was arrested on felony charged for trying to use a bad check to buy a $92,000 2016 Jaguar coupe.

Aubin has a prolific criminal record and was recently on parole, and Moore admitted he regularly used a police computer to check Aubin’s parole status.

He also claimed to have “debt issues.” Aubin promised to “help me get out of debt” by producing “gay porn” films for a Florida company called Bear Films, he told authorities.

But now it seems the two men never actually had a genuine contract with the company. Instead, Aubin may have tricked Moore with an elaborate ruse that involved him calling and pretending to be various adult industry execs.

Moore has told investigators that he was expecting $400,000 for his XXX work, which, no.

“The whole thing is a tangled web of deceit,”  Colonie police Lt. Robert Wynn tells Times Union. “As of right now, he (Moore) is being considered a witness and a victim currently, but that could also change.”

During the investigation, several pornographic photos of the men were unearthed, shot at Moore’s home a few months back. These were apparently going to be used to help them snare an impossible contract to produce gay porn.

Right now, the investigation is on hold while officers decide whether anybody should face charges or if this is all simply too ludicrous to pursue in any shape or form.

However, Moore did apparently illegally access that criminal database, but that’s a far cry from freewheeling underage orgies and all the rest of it.

If you want to delve deeper into this serpentine pile of confusion, you can read more about the bizarre case here.

Ezra Miller’s “Harry Potter” Election Comparison Feels Frighteningly Real, Strangely Comforting

Ezra Miller’s “Harry Potter” Election Comparison Feels Frighteningly Real, Strangely Comforting

The wizarding world of Harry Potter has always offered an easy and satisfying escape route from reality, chock full of fantastic feats (not to mention beasts) and adventure of the highest order, but the series’ darker elements haven taken on new meaning for some in recent days.

Fans were quick to draw comparisons between the cast of characters assembling in the wings of Trump’s America and the magical elite who rose to high office once Voldemort gained power. Of course the two have nothing to actually do with one another, and while we don’t think Trump is made of pure evil, just as we understand the reality that not everyone who supported him is a bigot, the feeling that dark days lie ahead remains.

Or to quote one Albus Dumbledore: “Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right.”

Take Myron Ebell, Trump’s pick to head the Environmental Protection Agency’s transition team.

myron

Ebell is a leading climate change denier whose career is dismantling the scientific consensus that global warming is real, man-made and an imminent threat. So the guy in charge of the EPA is someone who doesn’t think the environment is something particularly in need of protecting. Perfect.

For those worried about the water protectors at Standing Rock putting their bodies on the line to stand up for the Earth and all its people, including those who would disperse and forget them, there is tangible fear in the air.

Trump has made it clear he wishes to move forward on “vital energy infrastructure projects” like controversial pipelines, and we’ve all seen how kind he is to protesters.

And the environment is just one (huge) issue weighing on people. There’s the prospect of a conservative Supreme Court that puts women’s and LGBTQ’s rights in the crosshairs, and more immediately, an uptick in anecdotal racism and homophobia felt in communities across the nation as Trump’s supporters who do happen to be bigots — and there are many to be sure — feel a sense of earned emboldening.

We don’t want to get too doom and gloom, as there are forces of good that will galvanize to combat any ugliness that should arise, but it’s not unreasonable to be on guard.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them star Ezra Miller agrees.

“I mean, ‘The ministry has fallen, Scrimgeour is dead, they are coming’ feels pretty legit to me,” the out actor told Buzzfeed, likening Voldemort’s rise to power in HP7 to today’s political climate.

He and his friends watched the final Potter film after the election, not because he appears in the upcoming spinoff, but “because some of my friends genuinely needed that. The fear that a lot of people are feeling right now is so palpable and so real.”

“The world of J.K. Rowling [is] this beautiful mythology that comforts us, and if we knew it as children, it brings us to a very basic place of feeling like we’re not alone in the world,” Miller continued. The series, “reminds us of the tools that we have in times of darkness, like the one we are barreling into right now: our love, our support of each other, friendship, community,” he added.

He also drew from the books to make a serious call to action: “I think we’re going to need the Order of the Phoenix,” he said. “We’re going to need people who are willing to make sacrifices and take risks for the people who are going to be in danger.”

Well said, Ezra.

Journo Jonathan Capehart Gets Emotional: ‘As an African-American and a Gay Man, Trump’s Presidency Scares Me’ – WATCH

jonathan capehart

Gay Washington Post journalist Jonathan Capeheart gave an emotional interview about the impact Donald Trump’s election has had on him and other members of minority communities in the United States.

Speaking with Channel 4 News’ Jon Snow (seriously, that’s his name), Capehart explained why so many are distraught over the result of this election. “People aren’t just grieving the loss of Hillary Clinton, they’re grieving the loss of their future,” said Capehart.

“You have people, American citizens who are of Hispanic decent, Muslim decent, now wondering what is their place in their own country,” he added.

The interview took a heartbreaking turn when Snow asked Capehart, “You are a gay, black Washington Post columnist… is this still your America?”

Capehart responded, becoming visibly emotional at one point saying, “That is a very powerful question, Jon, and it moves me almost into silence. The election of President Obama was a great moment for this country. And now we stand two months away from, excuse me, from all of that disappearing. And as an African-American, and as an American and a gay man, that scares me.”

Watch, below.
