Billy on the Street and more TV this week

Check out our weekly guide to TV this week, and make sure you’re catching the big premieres, crucial episodes and the stuff you won’t admit you watch when no one’s looking.

For a dollar, which gay comedian is returning to accost New Yorkers with absurdly aggressive pop culture trivia? ALEC MAPA?! NO!!! Get out of here! It’s Billy Eichner, and he’s back with all new episodes of Billy On the Street, returning Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. Eastern on TruTV.

Enjoy a new episode of The Real O’Neals before VP-elect Mike Pence electroshocks ABC’s primetime lineup into nothing but re-runs of The Middle. The O’Neal clan deals with shifting traditions when the family in flux celebrates Thanksgiving Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. on ABC.

Ryan Murphy kept things pretty coherent for this season of American Horror Story, but viewers should get ready for a twist in Wednesday’s finale at 10 p.m. Eastern on FX. After weeks of faux reality docudrama scares, the show veers into American Crime Story territory with this installment’s final chapter.

We’re not super interested in who’s under the sheet in the fall finale of How To Get Away With Murder Thursday at 10 p.m. Eastern on ABC, but we’d love to know who else could get into the shower with Connor (Jack Falahee) and Oliver (Conrad Ricamora).

MTV is shining a spotlight on transgender youth with a new documentary called Transformation. The special follows gender non-conforming hair stylist and activist Madin Lopez as they provide six transgender and gender non-conforming youths makeovers and mentorship. The film shares their stories and struggles as part of Transgender Awareness Week wherein MTV will also be sharing exclusive trans content on social platforms and changing its logos to display the transgender flag. Transformation airs at 10 p.m. Eastern Thursday, following True Life: We Are Transitioning.

Would You Have A Threesome With Billy Eichner And Jon Hamm?

There are probably worse things than having your day hijacked by two men asking if you’d like to be in a threesome — particularly if one of those men is Jon Hamm, and particularly if the whole to-do only costs a dollar.

In the below vid, a smattering of randomly selected pedestrians find themselves in this very predicament at the hands of Billy on the Street‘s Billy Eichner. The results — as lesser blog posts than this would say — might surprise you.

The network said on Nov. 2 that she would be off the air as she dealt with unspecified health problems.’ Gwen was a standard bearer for courage, fairness and integrity in an industry going through seismic change,’ said Sara Just, PBS NewsHour executive producer.”

Gwen made young black journos like me feel like we belonged in DC. When we met she was warm, full of advice & joy. I’ll never forget it.

thehonorablebobhallheadshotTEXAS. GOP lawmaker files North Carolina style bill that would outlaw all local LGBT nondiscrimination ordinances: “Hall’s bill is the first anti-LGBT measure filed in advance of next year’s Texas Legislature, which convenes in January. Today marks the first day of pre-filing of bills for the upcoming session, in which dozens of anti-LGBT measures are likely to be considered. Senate Bill 92 would prohibit cities, counties and other political subdivisions from adopting or enforcing ‘a local law that creates a protected classification or prohibits discrimination on a basis not contained in the laws of this state.’ Because Texas state law doesn’t include sexual orientation or gender identity, cities and counties would be prohibited from enforcing LGBT-inclusive nondiscrimination ordinances.”

ONE LAST TIME. President Obama’s first press conference since Trump elected POTUS: “I don’t think he is ideological, I think ultimately he is pragmatic in that way and that can serve him well as long as he has got good people around him and he has a good sense of direction.”

The House minority leader spells it out on Steve Bannon: “Bringing Steve Bannon into the White House is an alarming signal that President-elect Trump remains committed to the hateful and divisive vision that defined his campaign. There must be no sugarcoating the reality that a white nationalist has been named chief strategist for the Trump Administration. ”

It is in fact the case that there was a populist revolt in this country — both Sanders and Trump. But one of them was marbled through with this alt-right stuff. If someone like myself who is married to a white woman, who has spent my entire life building bridges can’t point out the alt-right whitelash reaction without being accused of being a racial polemicist? ‘Finding Prince Charming’ Contestant Blasts Robert Sepúlveda Jr. In Dramatic Tell-All

‘Finding Prince Charming’ Contestant Blasts Robert Sepúlveda Jr. In Dramatic Tell-All

screen-shot-2016-11-14-at-3-32-10-pm

Logo’s disastrous Finding Prince Charming reality show may be over, but the drama continues on.

In a very long, very angry Instagram rant, former contestant Chad Spodick rips into the show’s star, Robert Sepúlveda Jr., lodging a slew of attacks against the 33-year-old male-escort-turned-reality-star.

A little backstory: Spodick works as real estate agent in New York. He appeared in six episodes of the show before suffering an onscreen meltdown, crying uncontrollably and accusing the other contestants of plotting conspiracies against him before ultimately walking off the show.

Now months later, it looks like his feelings haven’t changed much because he holds absolutely nothing back in his latest Instagram tirade against Sepúlveda.

First, he accuses the prince of being a hooker:

How about being authentic that you’re still hooking. It’s been proven many times that you are.

Then he says he isn’t a real “interior designer”:

Also branding yourself as an “interior designer” when we all know that is a completely, and poorly, manufactured FAKE business, I mean, your portfolio speaks for itself.

Then he accuses him of stealing:

How about coming clean that you embezzled over $40K from the Atlanta rainbow crosswalks project. I just happen to be friends with some of the donors. They want their money back! Also, stealing Rolex’s off the nightstand of your hookups.

Then he says he beat his ex-boyfriends:

How about being authentic about the fact that you have physically abused your partners in every relationship that you have had, including and not limited to launching blunt objects at their head, like a computer.

No response yet from Sepúlveda’s team. Though the reality star did tweet this earlier today:

Love, love, love, love! Sending everyone love as we start a new week together! Everyday is a fresh start, a new beginning! ?????? pic.twitter.com/HTMaa9Sjqg

Openly Gay Republican Being Considered for Trump Cabinet Praised Him as Historically Pro-LGBT

Openly Gay Republican Being Considered for Trump Cabinet Praised Him as Historically Pro-LGBT

richard grenell

Donald Trump is reportedly considering appointing Richard Grenell, an openly gay man who served in President George W. Bush’s administration, to the role of UN Ambassador.

The AP reports:

The incoming president is considering Richard Grenell as United States ambassador to the United Nations. If picked and ultimately confirmed by the Senate, he would be the first openly gay person to fill a Cabinet-level foreign policy post. Grenell previously served as U.S. spokesman at the U.N. under former President George W. Bush’s administration. […]

The appointment of Grenell could begin to ease concerns by the gay community about Vice President-elect Mike Pence’s positions on same-sex marriage during his time as Indiana governor.

The New York Post adds:

Richard Grenell, 50, who served as spokesman to four US ambassadors to the UN under President George W. Bush, would be the first openly gay American to be UN ambassador.

Grenell has been a critic of the Iran nuke deal and slammed the Obama administration, including then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, for failing to put Boko Haram on the terror list.

Grenell is pro-Israel.

While Grenell signed an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to legalize same-sex marriage, he has also praised Trump for ’embracing’ the LGBT community–because Trump held an (upside down) LGBT for Trump rainbow flag.

Grenell wrote,

No other Republican Presidential nominee in history has embraced the LGBT community in such a loud and proud way. And yet, the moment was barely reported by the media despite the fact it happened in front of the traveling press corps accompanying Mr. Trump. Political reporters, not unsurprising, largely failed to write on the moment where a Republican challenged their negative media stereotype.

[…]

While it has been mostly unreported, Mr. Trump has embraced the LGBT community like no other GOP nominee in history. His rainbow flag waiving in Colorado was only the latest sign of his continued support for gay equality. Whatever happens on November 8, 2016 in the presidential race, Mr. Trump has forever changed the Republican party’s support for LGBT equality and future Republican leaders will have a difficult time not meeting the new standard.

Grenell also on Monday retweeted Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA who called Trump the “most pro LGBT incoming president ever.”

Trump will be the first president to enter office unopposed to gay marriage and rights. Most pro LGBT Incoming President ever. #TrumpRiot

— Charlie Kirk (@charliekirk11) November 14, 2016

Over the course of the past year and a half, however, Trump has said he would appoint justices that would overturn same-sex marriage while also trying to insist that gay marriage is ‘settled law’, voiced support for the anti-LGBT Religious Freedom Restoration Act, chose the most vociferously anti-LGBT state-wide lawmaker in America as his running mate, hired a White House chief of staff who oversaw the most anti-LGBT party platform in history, hired a white supremacist and homophobic blog editor as his senior strategist, is considering hiring a host of anti-LGBT bigots for other key cabinet posts, and chosen as the leader of his domestic transition team a hate group leader who believes in curing gay people of their gayness.

Grenell was hired in 2012 as a foreign policy and national security spokesman for Mitt Romney’s campaign but was resigned quickly after he assumed the post due to pressure from social conservatives.

Grenell also has a history of sexist tweets, as many have pointed out.
