HERSTORY. Kate Brown made history as first openly LGBT person elected governor in the US. The Oregon democrat was the incumbent but this was the first time voters had cast their ballots for her: “She stepped in as governor of Oregon in February 2012, after former Gov. John Kitzhaber resigned over an influence-peddling scandal. She was secretary of state at the time; as Oregon does not have a lieutenant governor, she was first in the line of succession. “Now, she’ll serve the remaining two years of the four-year term Kitzhaber won during the 2014 election,” Oregon Public Broadcasting reports.”

In Uncertain Times, Gay Couple’s Defiant Display Of Love Goes Viral
To say it’s been a rough week is putting it incredibly mildly, but as many have been echoing, it’s more important than ever to celebrate our love and diversity while we fight back against racism, homophobia and misogyny. We may have shifted from offense to defense, but you can be sure it’ll be a damn fine defense.
That’s the general thought that led Darell to share his very public proposal to his boyfriend Rechard, and it’s an image we’re thrilled to see in these uncertain times.
He told Attitude: “We traveled to NY to celebrate his birthday. I had planned to propose in the middle of Time Square but we got into a very heated argument minutes before. So as we were walking/arguing, I surprised him with the proposal.”
Darell added that he and Rechard chose to share the proposal video to combat the “hate and negativity” that’s gaining an even stronger foothold in this country post-election.
“Still living in a dream,” Darell captioned the video. “Never give up on love.”

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Wore Her ‘Dissent Collar’ After Trump Won – VIDEOS
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, aka the Notorious RBG, wore her ‘dissent collar’ after Donald Trump’s election as president.

Ginsburg has said she wears the collar when she dissents from a majority opinion the Court has issued.

Ginsburg wore the embellished collar ruffle meant to show disagreement and stray from the majority opinion on decisions before the high court. But there were no court decisions slated to go out on Wednesday.
The Supreme Court did not return a request from NBC News for comment.
Ginsburg has previously been frank on what she thinks of Trump.
“I can’t imagine what this place would be — I can’t imagine what the country would be — with Donald Trump as our president…For the country, it could be four years. For the court, it could be — I don’t even want to contemplate that,” she told the New York Times in July.
Ginsburg also joked that if Trump were elected it would be time to move to New Zealand. Donald Trump attacked her for those remarks and she later walked them back.
