Watch LIVE: The Second 2016 Presidential Debate Between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump

From Washington University in St. Louis, the second 2016 presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, moderated by ABC News anchor Martha Raddatz and CNN’s Anderson Cooper, begins at 9 pm ET.

The first questions at the debate will focus on the 2005 tape which emerged Friday night in which Trump makes vulgar remarks and brags about sexually assaulting women, CNN reports:

While everything is subject to change until air time, an ABC source said — perhaps confirming the obvious — that Trump and Clinton will both be prompted to address the matter.

A coin toss by the Commission on Presidential Debates determined that Clinton will speak first.

While the debates are hosted by the commission, not the television networks, Raddatz and Cooper have been in debate prep with producers from their respective networks.

The gender dynamics — a man and a woman moderating together while another man and woman face off in a town hall format — will be unmissable.

The debate will be in a town hall format, where audience members ask questions which the co-moderators will follow up with questions of their own and try to create interaction between the candidates.

Writes the NYT:

Town halls can be treacherous in ways typical debates are not. The candidates have to interact directly with voters in the audience, showing them respect, paying attention to their questions, and seeking a direct connection obvious to viewers at home. Mrs. Clinton is practiced at these maneuvers. Mr. Trump has a tendency to disappear into his own verbal fog, to ignore the question entirely and to fail to give an actual answer.

And if an audience member drills into sensitive territory — such as the 2005 recording — there is always the danger of an explosive and dismissive response.

…Mrs. Clinton will no doubt arrive in St. Louis equipped with a fresh pail of chum to throw in the waters around Mr. Trump, determined to whip him into a frenzy. She will needle him over revelations of the scale of his tax avoidance. She will cite the array of attacks on him from his own party this weekend. To achieve anything resembling a victory, Mr. Trump will need to turn up his nose and focus on the most compelling parts of his own message: trade, the threat of Islamic militants, and the creation of jobs.

Please let us know your thoughts about the debate in the comments.

Donald Trump

Shortly after the Friday night leak of Donald Trump making vulgar remarks to Billy Bush about women, former Apprentice producer Bill Pruitt tweeted that recordings exist of Trump saying “far worse.”

As a producer on seasons 1 & 2 of #theapprentice I assure you: when it comes to the #trumptapes there are far worse. #justthebegininng

— Bill Pruitt (@billpruitt) October 8, 2016

Today, producer Chris Nee tweeted that when she worked for Apprentice producer Mark Burnett she signed a contract that contained a $5 million penalty for releasing footage without authorization.

She also talked about what she has heard are on the tapes:

@mcuban the price is 5 million to cover the penalty fee. And we all get to hear him use the N word from what I hear t.co/IsmJvHHL1K

— Chris Nee (@chrisdocnee) October 9, 2016

I don’t have the tapes. I’ve signed a Burnett contract & know leak fee is 5 mill. Hearing from producers/crew N word is the “much worse”.

— Chris Nee (@chrisdocnee) October 9, 2016

Burnett, a Trump ally, is more than aware that any potentially damaging footage is in big demand and has been threatening those who might leak it, Buzzfeed News reports:

A powerful Hollywood ally of Donald Trump has threatened staffers who could release potentially damaging outtakes of the show, a source close to Mark Burnett told BuzzFeed News.

Burnett, the producer of The Apprentice, and his production company have not responded to requests for comment from BuzzFeed News and many other outlets since grotesque outtakes from another show rocked Trump’s campaign Friday, even as former staffers have suggested on Twitter (without clear evidence) that The Apprentice material could be just as damaging.

But the person familiar with Burnett’s thinking told BuzzFeed News that the producer is backing his star.

Burnett “is pro-Trump and has made clear to his teams that he will sue anyone who leaks,” the person said.

.@MarkBurnettTV why are you threatening/silencing your staff to protect @realDonaldTrump Bully to bully. afraid of truth and freedom

Earlier this month we reported on an AP investigation of more than 20 people connected with Donald Trump’s Apprentice franchise reveals that Trump regularly demeaned women sexually behind the scenes on the show.

The AP quoted one former crew member’s specific story:

“We were in the boardroom one time figuring out who to blame for the task, and he just stopped in the middle and pointed to someone and said, ‘You’d f–k her, wouldn’t you? I’d f–k her. C’mon, wouldn’t you?’ Everyone is trying to make him stop talking, and the woman is shrinking in her seat.”

A Brief History Of Antigay Politicians Caught Doing Very Gay Things In Public Restrooms

A Brief History Of Antigay Politicians Caught Doing Very Gay Things In Public Restrooms

bathroom-boys

It’s no secret that Republicans have issues with many things, but there are two things in particular that really seem to keep them up at night: Gay people and public restrooms.

The official Republican platform, adopted earlier this year, defines marriage as “between one man and one woman” and seeks to police which restrooms trans people use in an effort to protect women and children from sexual predators.

Ironically, an alarming number of Republican lawmakers have been caught engaging in gay sex acts in public restrooms over the years. The most recent appears to be Mike Yenni from Louisiana, who was just outed for allegedly sexting with a 17-year-old Catholic school boy then meeting up with him in a mall bathroom for a brief make out sesh.

Just to be clear, we’re not judging these guys for getting frisky in the bathroom. But we’d be remiss not to point out the hypocrisy in their actions.

Scroll down for five Republican lawmakers who’ve been caught acting gay in the bathroom…

Mike Yenni

The 40-year-old “happily married father of one” and local Republican politician from Louisiana was just accused of sexting with a 17-year-old Catholic school boy who he met at a luncheon for graduating seniors in 2015. According to the teen, Yenni and the teen arranged a meeting in a mall bathroom where the lawmaker gifted him a pair of $75 designer underwear then asked him to send him pictures of himself modeling them. Then they made out for a while.

Bob Allen

bob-allen-florida

The antigay Republican member of the Florida House of Representatives was arrested in 2007 after offering to pay an undercover cop $20 for a blowie in a park bathroom. Allen maintained his innocence, insisting that he thought the undercover officer was trying to rob him, and that he only offered to pay to perform the sex act on him because he felt “intimidated” by his large muscles.

Roberto Arango

roberto-arango

The married Republican politician who served in the Senate of Puerto Rico made headlines in 2011 after a series of his very revealing bathroom selfies emerged on Grindr. At first, Arango, who opposed same-sex marriage, tried saying he had taken the x-rated pictures to document his weight loss. Then he tried suggesting a rival had hacked into his computer and leaked them as an act of political revenge. Then he finally admitted that, yeah, OK, he had taken them to share with guys on Grindr and, yeah, OK, he was also gay.

Jon Hinson

jon-hinson

Here’s one from the history books. In 1981, the Republican congressman from the deep red state of Mississippi was arrested for engaging in oral sex with a young male clerk in the men’s restroom of the House of Representatives. Hinson, who had previously been married to a woman, claimed the incident was the result of “personal turmoil” he was suffering. Shortly thereafter, he resigned from Congress and came out as gay. He devoted the rest of his life to advocating for LGBTQ rights before his death in 1995.

Larry Craig

larry-craig-2016

And then there was Republican Senator Larry Craig of Idaho. In 2007, he was arrested for soliciting an undercover cop for sex in an airport bathroom. After initially confessing to the act, Craig later walked back his statement by famously claiming that he sat “wide stance” when on the toilet and that the officer must have misinterpreted his body language. Not surprisingly, the excuse didn’t hold up in court.

Cut to 2014 when the Federal Election Commission filed a lawsuit against Craig after discovering he had illegally used campaign funds to pay his attorneys during the whole bathroom lawsuit. He was ordered to pay the Treasury $242,535 out of his own pocket. Craig appealed, but in 2016, the U.S. Court of Appeals affirmed the judgment, finally bringing the scandal to a close, nearly a decade after the fact.

To this day, Craig insists he has a “wide stance.”

“Gay Country Boys” Give A Holler From Rural Life

“Gay Country Boys” Give A Holler From Rural Life

What exactly is a country boy?

According to Urban Dictionary, he is “a guy born and raised in the country. (Usually the American South.) A true country boy has rather short hair, and no piercings. They dress in nice, clean-looking clothes, and only wear ripped jeans to work in.”

The definition goes on to describe country boys as “strong, hard-working, and very masculine. Chances are, he drives a truck. In a relationship, a country boy is usually an old-fashioned gentleman.”

But can they be gay?

A recent Reddit thread titled Gay country boys? seeks to answer this question:

Any of you guys ever met a gay country boy, farm boy, or the redneck type? Just wondering. I’m a country boy and I personally don’t know anyone that is gay. Although I’ve wondered about a few guys before.

Well, it turns out, there are quite a few gay country boys living our in rural America.

farm-boy-1“Red neck farm boy here,” one guy writes. “Born and raised in the middle of nowhere. So, yup, we exist.”

“Gay country boy checking in from Iowa,” another guy says. “Grew up on a hog farm, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, mudding. … I’ll always be a country boy at heart.”

“I spent the first eighteen years of my life living and working on a family ranch in east Texas,” a third guy writes. “Got my degree in Agricultural Science, and I’m employed in the livestock industry. I’ve just contentedly resigned myself to the fact that it’s my lot in life to work with cattle.”

“I live in Oklahoma, and three quarters of the Grindr profiles here are for guys with pickup trucks looking for someone to go hunting/fishing/mudding with,” a fourth one says.

Then there are those who aren’t country boys themselves but who are attracted to them.

“I always think country gay boys are hot,” one guy writes. “Also, Brokeback Mountain, right? That’s very country.”

farm-boy-2“My BF is a country boy,” another man says. “He grew up in the bible belt of Alabama. He moved to Florida 3 years ago. Funnily enough, I met him outside of a 7/11 where he was causing a ton of trouble with his fellow country boy friends.”

“I’d love to meet some,” a third guy writes. “I am exhausted by the one-upping connoisseur ethos I’ve been dealing with in city-gays. I draw the line at defending my choice of take-out sushi. I am assuming that country boy gays have more productive/meaningful things to do besides instagramming high tea.”

Of course, there had to be one killjoy who couldn’t help but keep it real:

“People who have a fascination with cowboys would probably be quickly disabused of that if they had any idea what cattle can smell like, or what you can smell like after spending a full day working with them.”
