Moonlight, Jared Fogle, Trump’s Chances, Obamacare, Asexual Awareness, Darrel Issa: HOT LINKS
BOX OFFICE. New release Moonlight — a film about growing up gay and black in America — has record-breaking opening weekend: “‘Moonlight’ made its record-breaking debut with the biggest per location average of 2016, according to Forbes. Screened at only four locations in New York and Los Angeles, the A24 release grossed $414,740 opening weekend giving it a $103,675 per-location-average. It also earned the 24th biggest per location opening average of all time.”
IS IT TOO LATE NOW TO SAY SORRY? Justin Bieber mic drops and walks off stage at concert in the UK because fans were screaming too loudly.
HIS LATEST INSULT. Trump denigrates female adult film star who says Trump grabbed her and offered her money for sex: “Oh, I’m sure she’s never been grabbed before.”
MALE MODEL MONDAY. Jorrit Berndsen.
INCITING VIOLENCE. Violent anti-Hillary imagery spotted at Virginia Beach Trump rally: Hillary’s head on a stake and Hillary’s face on a gun range style bullseye.
BLOW OUT THE CANDLES. Hugh Jackman sings Happy Birthday to Zac Efron.
WHAT DID THEY KNOW AND WHEN DID THEY KNOW IT. Jared Fogle’s wife says Subway knew he was a pedophile: “Kathleen McLaughlin says in new legal docs — obtained by TMZ — back in 2004, a senior exec at Subway received a complaint that Fogle had approached a young girl at a Vegas promotional event and solicited a sex act. The lawsuit claims the company received at least 2 other complaints over the years.”
WAPO. “Donald Trump’s chances of winning are approaching zero.”
HEALTHCARE. Some Obamacare rates are slated to rise by 25% next year: “Federal regulators opened the federal exchange Healthcare.gov for consumers to browse for plans on Monday, as they announced that rates will be up 25% for the plans for which the tax subsidies are calculated. The Department of Health and Human Services also warned that more than one in five consumers using the site will only have one insurer from which to choose coverage.”
ROCK THE VOTE. Jay Z to headline get out the vote concert for Hillary in Ohio: “The event — which aides expect will draw thousands — is part of an ongoing series of concerts that aim to motivate young people to turn out for Clinton the way they turned out for Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012.”
NOT SO FAST. President Obama slams obstructionist Congressman Darrel Issa (R-CA) for doing an about face and trying to claim he worked with the White House during his tenure on the Hill: “Obama called out to Democratic candidate Doug Applegate, the former Marine colonel who’s challenging Issa, sitting at one of the tables in front of him. ‘I think somebody called Darrell Issa — was this you, Doug? — that Darrell Issa was Trump before Trump,’ Obama said.”
MISTER MONDAY. Steven Araujo.

About Limit(less)
Limit(less) is a photography project by Mikael Owunna (@owning-my-truth) documenting the fashion and style of LGBTQ African Immigrants (1st and 2nd generation) in diaspora. As LGBTQ Africans, we are constantly told that being LGBTQ is somehow “un-African,” and this rhetoric is a regular part of homophobic and transphobic discourse in African communities. This line of thinking, however, is patently false and exists an artifact of colonization of the African continent. Identities which would now be categorized as “LGBTQ” have always existed, and being LGBTQ does not make us “less” African.
Limit(less) explores how LGBTQ African immigrants navigate their identities and find ways to overcome the supposed “tension” between their LGBTQ and African identities through their fashion and style. The project seeks to visually deconstruct the colonial binary that has been set up between LGBTQ and African identities, which erases the lives and experiences of LGBTQ Africans. #LimitlessAfricans

Aaron Carter Opens Up About His Problems With Drug Addiction And Depression
In a rare television interview, 28-year-old Aaron Carter appeared on Oprah: Where Are They Now to open up about the host of well-documented personal problems that came along with his meteoric success as a pop star in the late ’90s.
The precipitating event was the abrupt divorce of his parents; an announcement made mere minutes before he was set to film an episode of MTV Cribs.

“It was 2004 or 2003,” he says. ” A lot of money was coming in, we had the biggest estate in all of the Florida Keys. I had to show all the cameras my life that I was losing and nobody ever knew it.”
The depression was brought on because I loved my family being together. I did not want to see them divorced. I couldn’t dwell on it. I couldn’t think about it too much. I kind of had to block it out. I started partying and getting into a lot of trouble….
With everything that was happening, I started losing all my money. I went broke.”
I wasn’t making that much money. Fortunately, I just hit my bonus—$10,000 the week before Leslie died—and I actually reached out to her two weeks before that and I said I’m going to get you the money to go to rehab. She wanted it and her phone got cut off.”
“I think out of all the experiences and all the things that happened with my sister’s passing, I just learned that life means so much to me and more than just money and fame.”

James Franco Knows What’s In Keegan Allen’s Speedo – WATCH
James Franco and Christian Slater were on TODAY recently to discuss their new movie, King Cobra.
As we’ve reported, the film follows the rise of gay adult film star Brent Corrigan and the murder of his Svengali, gay adult film producer Bryan Kocis.
The actors were often scantily clad in the film, wearing little more than speedos. And Franco reportedly found out what his co-star Keegan Allen was packing in his briefs.
Talking on TODAY, Franco said his only problem with the getting into the skimpy swimsuits was that “Keegan stuffed his speedo so big.”
Franco added that crew and cast who came to set were rather shocked by Keegan’s bulge. “Like, everybody that came on set was like, ‘What? What?’” Franco said.
The TODAY hosts were stunned by Franco’s revelation. Asked Tamron Hall, “What do you so stuff your speedo with?”
“Look at the movie! He’s got the biggest bulge,” Franco replied.
Franco went on to explain that he knows Allen stuffed his speedo because when he asked the wardrobe department for a special ‘sock’ to cover his member during filming, wardrobe told him that Keegan had taken all of them.
According to Franco, Allen stuffed them in his speedo and wrapped them together with tape.
Which he then demonstrated.
Watch Franco talk about ‘the sock’, below.

HRC Endorses Jason Kander of Missouri for U. S. Senate
Today, HRC announced its endorsement of Jason Kander for the Missouri U.S. Senate seat currently held by Roy Blunt.
“Jason Kander will continue the critical fight ahead to ensure equal rights and protections for all,” said HRC Senior Vice President of Policy and Political Affairs JoDee Winterhof. “There is a clear choice in this race between Jason Kander and Senator Blunt, who believes in a status quo where LGBTQ people in Missouri are at risk for being fired or denied a job because of who they are, or whom they love. Jason Kander supports the Equality Act so that everyone, including LGBTQ people, can live free from fear of discrimination.”
While Kander has vowed to support the Equality Act if elected to the U.S. Senate, Senator Blunt has a starkly anti-LGBTQ record, which includes refusing to support the Equality Act, comprehensive legislation to protect LGBT people from discrimination.
In addition, Blunt voted against both the bipartisan Employment Non-Discrimination Act, and the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”
Paid for by Human Rights Campaign PAC and authorized by Missourians for Kander |

DVD: “Independence Day: Resurgence,” “Front Cover,” “Michael Moore In Trumpland,” & More!
Aliens, exes, and culture clashes, oh my! It seems like a lot of worlds get shaken up in this week’s home entertainment picks.
Those rascally world-conquering aliens are back in Roland Emmerich’s long-awaited sequel to ID4, Independence Day: Resurgence. A gay Asian-American New Yorker clashes, and finds sparks with, a closeted actor from Beijing in romantic dramedy Front Cover (above). Finally, Michael Moore releases a stand-up surprise in time for the election, Michael Moore In Trumpland.
Scroll down for the trailers, more details, and of course, your comments!
($49.99 3D Blu-ray, $39.99 Blu-ray, $29.98 DVD; 20th Century Fox)
Yes, those pesky aliens are back – although Will Smith ain’t – with insanely massive space ships, cray cray technology, and a collective woody to nail Earth’s butt this time. Director Roland Emmerich again destroys loads of cities, defies logic, and has characters say ridiculous things, and all that’s missing is a big bag of popcorn. Extras include deleted scenes, featurettes, gag reel, commentary, concept art and more.
($24.99 DVD; Strand)
In writer/director Ray Yeung’s culture clash romcom, Ryan, a gay, Chinese-American fashion stylist, finds culture clash and some steamy sparks when working with a prickly, popular actor from China, Ning. The latter is shocked and appalled by the former’s openness, but slowly finds ease and fascination with it, while Ryan, a self-described “potato queen” – aka exclusively into white men – not only warms up to Ning but feels perhaps a bona fide attraction. Yet will their two different worlds force them apart or ultimately bring them together? A superb, insightful gay film with a gorgeous pair of Asian romantic leads – something we don’t see enough of… yet!
(VOD)
Just in the nick of time, Michael Moore has unleashed a stand-up concert film, shot in the swing state of Ohio, that addresses the upcoming election. Alas, it’s not a multilayered, investigative piece like he’s best known for, and there isn’t as much Trump-centric material as the title indicates, yet it’s a timely plea for sanity – “Make America Sane Again” is his mission – for when swing voters reach the booths.
