WATCH: The Evolution Of Drag Queen Fashion Over The Last Century
Vanity Fair teamed up with four RuPaul‘s Drag Race queens to create a fierce video showing the evolution of drag queen fashion over the last 103 years. Each look was inspired by a drag queen or LGBTQ icon from that era, including the late David Bowie.
Watch the video below to see how some of the most fashionable drag queens, Shangela, Detox, Kim Chi and Raja, interpreted the last century of drag. Enjoy!
WATCH: “Drunk History” Stonewall Re-Enactment Is 100 Times Better Than Roland Emmerich’s Film
This is more like it. Crissle West — writer, comedian, and co-host of The Read podcast — popped by Comedy Central’s Drunk History this week to dutifully drain a few glasses of hooch and retell the story of the Stonewall Riots, and Marsha. P. Johnson’s instigating place in it.

Clocking it at a mere six minutes, it’s still about a hundred times better than Roland Emmerich’s film, despite (or perhaps because of) the increasingly slurry narration.

Seth Meyers: Donald Trump’s Entire Campaign is Like the Last 10 Minutes of a Slasher Movie – WATCH
Seth Meyers took a closer look at Trump’s intra-party war with GOP leaders and cautioned why you may not want to count him out–even though he looks DOA.
“Watching this election has been like watching the last 10 minutes of a slasher movie,” Meyers quipped, referring to the fact that Trump has weathered several scandals that would have killed any mortal politician.
Meyers then weighed in on Trump’s stalking Clinton during the second debate, saying, “it looked like he was waiting for his microwave burrito to be done.”
Meyers also schooled Trump on claiming that his large rallies mean he’s actually winning the election. “If all you needed to win was a big crowd of people our next president would be Ikea on a Saturday,” Meyers joked.
As for the Trump campaign’s call for Republicans to sign up as ‘poll watchers’ to be on the look out for voter fraud, Meyers said,
“You want Republicans to watch for something? They were caught completely off guard by a bright orange man in a bright red hat. No wonder the Republican party is the party of hunting accidents.”

Noah Galvin Asks the Gays to Dial It Down on ‘The Real O’Neals’ – WATCH
In a clip from The Real O’Neals, actor Noah Galvin (Kenny) lives out a situation many a gay person has encountered, that moment when someone assumes that all gay people know each other by virtue of being gay.
For Kenny, that happens when his mom asks him to tell all the other queer fellas to ‘tone it down’ after seeing too many nipples and booty shorts at a gay pride parade.
“Sure. We all know each other so I’m just gonna hop on the rainbow bat phone and call everyone,” Kenny pithily replies before actually getting on his rainbow bat phone and using the gay phone tree.
Trying to get a hold of everyone is challenging, but after Kenny calls Lance who calls Jane who calls Tyler, Tyler has an idea of who to turn to to disseminate the message far and wide.

HRC Visits the Granite State to #turnOUT the LGBTQ Vote
Last week, HRC President Chad Griffin visited with HRC members and supporters in New Hampshire to encourage those who care about equality to vote and encourage their family, friends, and colleagues to do the same.
Griffin attended a GOTV phone bank at Dartmouth, an LGBTQ roundtable in Portsmouth and also had the chance to meet with these leaders, including:
In August, HRC endorsed Hassan for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Kelly Ayotte.
HRC is counting on our members and supporters to mobilize and #turnOUT the pro-equality vote in November. HRC members are volunteering thousands of hours for endorsed candidates and are visible at campaign events across the country. Learn more at hrc.org/VoteEquality.

TurnOUT NC Ramps Up Mobilization Efforts for Pro-Equality Candidates in North Carolina
Over the past week, TurnOUT North Carolina ramped up our voter mobilization efforts in both Charlotte and the Triangle region. A project of the Human Rights Campaign PAC and Equality NC Action Fund PAC, TurnOUT NC is working across North Carolina to mobilize pro-equality voters and elect pro-equality legislators who are willing to repeal HB2.
Today, there are an estimated 255,800 LGBTQ adults living in North Carolina — a substantial population given that the state was won in the last three presidential elections by an average of 180,500 votes. The LGBTQ voting bloc in North Carolina will play a pivotal role in the presidential, gubernatorial and other down ballot races.
The joint endorsements by HRC and ENC include:
For House of Representatives: Rep. John Ager (D), Cynthia Ball (D), Chaz Beasley (D) Mary Belk (D), Jane Campbell (UNA), Sue Counts (D), Terence Everitt (D), Jennifer Ferrell (D), Judge Joe John (D), Rochelle Rivas (D) Rep. Brian Turner (D).
For State Senate: Sen. Jay Chaudhuri (D), Sen. Jeff Jackson (D), Sen. Joyce Waddell (D) and Susan Evans.
HRC and Equality North Carolina have both previously endorsed Roy Cooper’s campaign for Governor.
Over the past week, our teams have also spoken with over 800 HRC and ENC members and supporters recruiting them to join our local efforts. If you live in Charlotte or the Triangle area of North Carolina, join TurnOUT NC as we work to turn out pro-equality voters. Click here to sign-up to volunteer at our Charlotte or Raleigh offices.
In Charlotte, we have opened a new office space at the North Carolina Music Factory in the Uptown area. Our team of staff and volunteers defied the rainy weather this past weekend, spending most of Saturday making 700 calls for two of the endorsed candidates: Chaz Beasley for House District 92 and Jane Campbell for House District 98. With clear blue skies on Sunday, the team hit the streets canvassing for Mary Belk for House District 88, knocking on 120 doors in South Charlotte.
Working from our office space just blocks from the North Carolina General Assembly in downtown Raleigh, our team made 300 calls for for Jennifer Ferrell for House District 36 and were joined on the phones by Terence Everitt for House District 35 making calls to voters in his district. Our Triangle based team has also canvassed for both Ferrell and Everitt over the past week, knocking on doors of voters in his district to help raise awareness of state level races on the ballot in November.
If you have questions about HRC’s work in North Carolina to #turnOUT voters, please contact HRC Associate Regional Field Director Ryan Wilson at [email protected].
Today, there are an estimated 255,800 #LGBTQ adults living in #NorthCarolina — a substantial population given that the state was won in the last 3 presidential elections by an average of 180,500 votes. Shea Diamond's "I Am Her" is the trans power anthem everyone needs to hear
Talented singer-songwriter Shea Diamond released her debut single “I Am Her” today. Check out the gorgeous video here, featuring many folks from the NYC trans community. Diamond was discovered earlier this year by Justin Tranter, the songwriter and producer behind some of the world’s biggest pop hits, including the GLAAD and Intercope Records’ single “Hands” a musical tribute to the victims of Orlando.
Shea Diamond was born in Arkansas, raised in Tennessee, and eventually landed in Michigan. Diamond knew she was different at a young age, but she felt she wouldn’t be accepted in her home or her community. No longer willing to hide who she was, Diamond ran away from home at 14 years old, becoming a temporary ward of the state. Shuffled from foster home to foster home, she was finally emancipated at age 17. As a homeless youth, struggling to survive, she committed a crime and was sentenced to 10 years in a men’s prison — a dangerous practice that puts incarcerated trans women at real risk for emotional and physical violence.
However, while incarcerated, Diamond did meet like-minded women of trans experience who shared their stories with her. In getting to know these women, Diamond discovered her own trans identity and the power of her voice. She says, “I was locked up but my mind was free!”
Diamond began writing “I Am Her” in prison as a statement to the world on behalf of anyone who has ever felt shunned for being who they are. Shortly after her release from prison in 2009, she moved to New York City to pursue her dreams of making music.
With a bluesy sound and Diamond’s soulful, unapologetic voice that echoes her experience, “I Am Her” is the power anthem we all need.
When Tranter’s friend sent him a video of Diamond performing at a Black Trans Lives Matter event, he was immediately taken by Diamond’s voice and presence. Tranter says of Diamond, “It’s been a long time since I’ve come across an artist with such a real story who is actually putting that story in their music, and Miss Diamond does that with every note she sings.”
In Diamond’s words, “No matter how the world treats me, no matter if I’m rejected, accepted, denied, or misunderstood, I will continue to live out my truth as Shea Diamond! It was in losing the world that I found myself and the will to keep living as the woman I am proud to be.” A message that deserves widespread deliverance.
