It’s dangerous to go alone. Better find a hero of time to accompany you.

R2 seems to have developed a bit of a crush.

A strange adaptation of Steve Martin’s King Tut act:

This is like that Halloween episode where Homer goes 3D.

Nice try, but this is the worst ripoff of Inspector Spacetime ever.

Colby Keller: I’m Voting Trump To “Escalate The Problem”

Colby Keller: I’m Voting Trump To “Escalate The Problem”

I’m going to vote for Trump! I think he’s a destabilizing force. I’m skeptical of him, too, and who exactly is behind Trump. But given that there’s eternal dissent in the Republican Party, that leads me to believe that whatever he represents might be a destabilizing force. And he’s made a lot of overtures to Russia and China, which in some ways could be thought of as an encouraging thing. I don’t support or endorse any of Trump’s policies. I just think it’ll escalate the problem, which is the best we can hope for. I hope at the very least he’d turn the White House into a reality show. America would tune in, right? And then he could do something nice, like give the money to the National Park Service, because they’re trying to defund it.”— Adult film performer Colby Keller, in an interview with Office Magazine

GOP Senator Kelly Ayotte Stung by Opponent’s Ad After Proclaiming Trump a ‘Role Model’ – WATCH

GOP Senator Kelly Ayotte Stung by Opponent’s Ad After Proclaiming Trump a ‘Role Model’ – WATCH

Kelly Ayotte

On Tuesday, we reported on Senator Kelly Ayotte’s (R-NH) statement Monday night that may have allowed her opponent, Governor Maggie Hassan, to get the edge she needs to steal the seat.

Ayotte got caught in a web of her own words, proclaiming Donald Trump a “role model” for children and then being asked to explain why she won’t endorse him.

“Because I’ve had some disagreements with him…” she added, looking lost.

She later corrected herself: “I misspoke tonight. While I would hope all of our children would aspire to be president, neither Donald Trump nor Hillary Clinton have set a good example, and I wouldn’t hold up either of them as role models for my kids.”

But it may be too late. Because Hassan is hanging her with her own words, along with Donald Trump’s.

Colby Keller: ‘I’m Going to Vote for Trump!’

Colby Keller: ‘I’m Going to Vote for Trump!’

Adult film star Colby Keller, who has been flirting with crossover mainstream success as of late in appearances on the HBO show High Maintenance and in Vivienne Westwood fashion campaigns, explains why he’s voting for Donald Trump in an interview with office magazine (warning: work-unfriendly photo at link).

He’d like to bring in the revolution.

Says Keller:

I’m going to vote for Trump! I think he’s a destabilizing force. I’m skeptical of him, too, and who exactly is behind Trump. But given that there’s eternal dissent in the Republican Party, that leads me to believe that whatever he represents might be a destabilizing force. Ugh.

Barcelona Football Club Steps Up for Gay Referee Harassed by Fans

Barcelona Football Club Steps Up for Gay Referee Harassed by Fans

Jesús Tomillero

In September we reported that Spain’s first openly gay football referee, Jesus Tomillero, returned to work after quitting in May due to anti-gay harassment from fans.

Unfortunately, he immediately began receiving anti-gay threats, the Guardian reported:

Jesús Tomillero, 21, was refereeing a game between CD Lasalle and Atlético Zabal in Andalusía’s second division on Saturday when a Lasalle supporter told him to “get off for being gay” after he awarded a penalty to Zabal.

The game was stopped and the man was removed but he managed to get back in and shout “You f**king faggot” at Tomillero.

Following the match – his second since returning – the referee started getting death threats on social media. “You son of a bitch. You messed with the club. We’ll kill you with AIDS, you faggot,” read one.

Another message, featuring a photograph of a handgun and bullets, said: “Not long left to live, faggot.”

Tomillero said that the threats began after he posted about the match on social media.

Now, Barcelona FC is stepping up to support him, ESPN reports:

Spain’s first openly gay referee will be invited to attend a Barcelona game in the coming weeks as the Catalan club look to lead the fight against anti-gay behaviour in football.

Barca confirmed to ESPN FC that they have already been in touch with Jesus Tomillero, but they are yet to pencil in a date for him to visit Camp Nou. They anticipate it will be sooner rather than later, though.

As well as the presence of Tomillero, Barca also plan to organise other acts to take a stand against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) prejudice in sport, although the details of what exactly that will entail will be confirmed closer to the time.

NIH Designates Sexual and Gender Minority Populations as a Health Disparity Population for Research

NIH Designates Sexual and Gender Minority Populations as a Health Disparity Population for Research

Today the National Institutes of Health announced the formal designation of sexual and gender minorities as a heath disparity population for purposes of NIH research.  The term “sexual and gender minorities” includes lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people.  Today’s announcement is an important step towards ending the devastating health disparities facing LGBTQ people across the nation.  This designation empowers NIH to undertake additional research on issues specifically impacting the LGBTQ community and elevates the health disparities faced by our community within the NIH research agenda.

This designation follows the publication of the March 2011 Institute of Medicine (now the The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine) report that painted a sober picture of the many substantial health disparities impacting our community.  The 2011 report emphasized that sustained efforts to collect more data on the LGBTQ population would be a critical part of developing effective policies to better understand and eventually to eliminate these disparities. Today’s announcement directly answers this call for deliberate, sustained data collection on the federal level.

HRC called on NIH to make this change in the Blueprint for Positive Change, a series of administrative actions  the administration can take to change lives of LGBTQ Americans for the better, and we applaud the Institutes’ leadership.
