Bicurious Man On Why He Chose To Become A Eunuch And What Life Is Like Now

Bicurious Man On Why He Chose To Become A Eunuch And What Life Is Like Now

“I definitely felt like an outsider in the town I grew up in,” Christopher tells Queerty in an exclusive interview. “I never shared the desire I felt towards men or to be castrated with anyone. Not even my closest friends.”

Christopher is a 38-year-old divorcee from a small town in rural Louisiana. 18 months ago, he had his testicles surgically removed, which he says was one of the best decisions of his life. Not only does he prefer the look and feel of his new genitalia, but he says the surgery awakened something that was buried deep inside of him.

“Up until now I’ve been with females only, [but] I have desired to be a bottom for a man,” he says. “Once I was castrated, that desire was intensified and I felt it was time to live the dream.”

We spoke to Christopher, who now identifies as a eunuch, about his surgery, why he chose to do it, what the recovery was like, and how sex and has changed for him. Scroll down to see what he had to say…

QUEERTY: For people who don’t know, what is an orchiectomy?

CHRISTOPHER: Put simply, it’s a castration. My testicles were removed from my body. My scrotum is totally empty.

And the obvious question: Why?

I actually had a vasectomy first and suffered some issues with pain from it. So I researched castration and became very intrigued and excited about the idea. I decided I definitely wanted it done. After the surgery, I have been very pleased and excited about the results.

Was it difficult to find a doctor to perform the surgery?

Yes. It was difficult to find a physician who would remove them. Although a female can opt for a hysterectomy and it will be performed without question, it’s not as easy to have a voluntary orchiectomy performed. I have been extremely happy since having it done 18 months ago. My only regret is not pursuing it earlier in life. I enjoy the smoothness it provides. I plan to have my scrotum completely removed in the fall.

What was the recovery period like?

I had a bi lateral orchiectomy, which means my incisions are in my pubic area and the testicles and cords are removed. This type of procedure takes a little while longer to heel. But recovery for me wasn’t bad. I went home right after surgery but couldn’t lift anything or do anything requiring lifting or straining for about six weeks. I did go back to work a couple of days after surgery.

And what has it been like since then?

It’s like having a new toy! I stay undressed for a long time admiring the look of having no testicles. I can easy push my dick back between my legs and slide on a pair of panties and you couldn’t tell the difference of me or female in that area. It looks so much better not to have those saggy balls hanging between my legs. Not to mention sitting is so much much comfortable without them in the way.

How has sex changed for you?

I have sex and masturbate as usual. No real change there. My erections have not changed either. However my semen is clear. That’s really the only change. I do take testosterone on a regular basis. Without it I’m sure I would probably have some erection issues or sex drive issues, but I stay on a hormone replacement schedule. So far, the females I have been with are intrigued and really like the feel of the empty scrotum. At first I was worried about what someone would think when they see that I have no testicles, but everyone so far has loved it.

And now you say you’d like to try having sex with a man.

Yes. Up until now I’ve been with females only. I’m not sure if I could label myself yet as a bi because I haven’t actually experienced sex with a male yet, but I plan to soon. I have desired to be a bottom for a man for a long time. Once I was castrated, that desire was intensified and I felt it was time to live the dream.

Why do you think that was?

I’m not really sure why. All I know is that I was very excited to try it once I had the surgery done. I definitely desire to bottom for another male and service him as a female does. I just want to experience the whole process with a male.

But you haven’t found the right guy yet.

Not yet. I’ve met some guys on Craigslist, although most just want to hookup at a hotel or have a one time thing with no strings attached. I’m very picky about this and I’m seeking a long term thing with someone that will take his time with me and let me learn as I go. I’m not seeking a relationship that’s out in the open, though. Discretion is a must for me. So far I haven’t had any luck finding this, but I will continue looking until I find the right person. I know there is someone out there for me. So I will continue with my search.

RIP Edward Albee, Iconic American Playwright and Proud Gay Man

RIP Edward Albee, Iconic American Playwright and Proud Gay Man

Edward Albee

Playwright Edward Albee has died at 88.

Albee, openly gay throughout his career, was the author of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, The Zoo Story, The Goat or Who is Sylvia? and dozens of other works. He died at his home in Montauk, New York following a brief illness according to his personal assistant.

“Why would I keep it a secret. It’s my nature,” said Albee to Tracy Smith in a 2013 CBS This Morning interview, when asked about being gay.

“Did you run up against any barriers because of it?”, Smith asked.

“Of course,” Albee replied.

“Well so that’s why you might want to hide it,” Smith said.

“I’m not embarrassed by it,” Albee retorted. “I’m not ashamed of it. Why should I go along with people who are idiotic?”

When asked in a New York Times interview if there’s something that people don’t know about him that he would want them to know, Albee replied:

“I don’t know if there’s anything that people need to know about me. I’ve been very, very open about my life. I have no secrets. I think everybody knows that I’m gay. Everybody knows that for 20 years there I drank too much. Everybody knows that I have something of a reputation of being a little difficult.”

Asked what he’d like to be remembered as, Albee said, “A useful playwright.”

He added:

“I think that art merely being decorative is insufficient. It’s to hold a mirror up to ourselves and to point out when we’re being useful and when we’re not. When we’re living fully and when we’re not. I can think of nothing worse than getting to the end of your life and figuring out that you hadn’t participated in it. That you hadn’t really lived it. I think people should live dangerously. I think they should live at the precipice all the time. And fully. Somebody said, I think it was in one of my plays, ‘When is the happiest time? Now. Always.’ Yeah, now. Always.”

Dolly Parton and Pentatonix Team Up for Stirring ‘a Cappella’ Version of Her Classic ‘Jolene’ – WATCH

Dolly Parton and Pentatonix Team Up for Stirring ‘a Cappella’ Version of Her Classic ‘Jolene’ – WATCH

Pentatonix Jolene

Dolly Parton and Grammy-winning a cappella group Pentatonix have teamed up for a new arrangement of Parton’s classic “Jolene”.

The track was originally released in 1973, and Parton told NPR in 2008 that it was the most recorded song of any she has written, having been recorded by more than 30 singers around the world. We can now add Pentatonix to that list.

Added Parton: “It’s a great chord progression — people love that ‘Jolene’ lick. It’s as much a part of the song almost as the song. And because it’s just the same word over and over, even a first-grader or a baby can sing, ‘Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene.’ It’s like, how hard can that be?”

Parton tweeted that working with Pentatonix on the track, which was ranked #217 by Rolling Stone on its ‘500 Greatest Songs of All Time’ list, was “pure magic” and the group answered back that they would “never forget” the experience of singing with Parton.

Singing with @PTXofficial was pure magic, and we had lots of fun rearranging the song! #PTXDollyJolene

It was magical singing with YOU!! We will never forget it! <3 #PTXDollyJolene t.co/tRldEnMoNr

Pentatonix is about to embark on a world tour starting tonight in Singapore.

Listen to the song, below:

Parton recently spoke with PrideSource about her gay fans and her introduction to the gay community:

As I started to be a teenager there were a couple of guys downtown that everybody was sayin’ were queer, ya know? I know they often said that about anybody who was odd or different – “they’re just queer, just strange and odd” – but the way they would talk about these two guys they would say, “Well, they’re sissies, they’re girls.” I was a teenager then. But in my early days we did not know (what gay was). It didn’t take me long to know that people were different and that was always fine with me ’cause I was different too, and I embraced and accepted them and I knew them. I knew them well. But no, in my early days I did not know. But I know a lot of them now! I have a huge gay and lesbian following and I’m proud of ’em, I love ’em and I think everybody should be themselves and be allowed to be themselves whoever they are, whatever they are.

Gay Latino Comic Julio Torres Joins ‘Saturday Night Live’ Family

Gay Latino Comic Julio Torres Joins ‘Saturday Night Live’ Family

screen-shot-2016-09-16-at-5-08-23-pm

It’s always nice when someone in the LGBTQ community hits the big leagues, so a big congrats to comic Julio Torres for getting hired on as a writer for Saturday Night Live.

But while the Brooklyn-based comic may take pride in his heritage and being out, much of his material is focused on being a space-prince. Because of course it is.

“I’ve never been good or too interested in making jokes about or having material about being Latino or being gay or any of those things,” Torres said in an interview with Brokelyn. “They’re very much part of who and what I am, but I feel like the one sort of label that I do feel a strong creative connection with…is the idea of being from elsewhere.”

Below find some samplings of Torres’ standup on YouTube, and look forward to some of his signature zaniness on SNL:
