Dad Fears Makeover Will Turn 5-Year-Old Son Gay

Dad Fears Makeover Will Turn 5-Year-Old Son Gay

enhanced-29671-1452199713-3

She knows how ridiculous it sounds, but she’s praying that the teeming masses over at Reddit will be able to offer some timely advice on a matter that’s rending her household asunder.

“Our daughters had the idea to give their brother a makeover,” Ollyolyfreetimes writes. “They all thought it was hilarious and my husband did not say anything at the time but apparently he ‘died inside’ when he saw our son with makeup on.”

Now he’s going on rants about how their five-year-old son is gay, and how their daughters have corrupted his pliant mind and given him a taste for wearing the demon makeup. Next, he thinks, they will “put him in a dress.”

In her words, “He is a nervous wreck and I am over his attitude. Is there anything I can do?”

Redditors were quick to huddle together to sing their words of wisdom and offer her the help she so desperately needs in this trying time of transgressive rouge and lipliner application.

“You need to have a conversation about your husband’s homophobic comments in general,” responds Usrname52, after carefully emphasizing that nothing makes you gay. “Why is it a bad thing if your son is gay? You have 5 kids. How is he going to react if one of them comes out?”

PennyLisa concurs. “Your husband needs to realize that when he has a child the child is his own person, and may have likes, dislikes, sexual orientations, etc that he doesn’t approve of.”

“My best friend does drag,” reveals HereComesBadNews, “and his two year old nephew has been getting in to his uncle’s makeup since he could hold on to things.”

I even gave the nephew a soft powder brush of his own to play with. He’s also obsessed with his dad’s backhoe and loves to get dirty. Nobody bats an eyelash at any of this because he’s a kid and kids are just going to play with what’s fun. Makeup is fun.”

“Years later, photo evidence of these events will turn up at major events, regardless of sexuality,” writes whichwitch9, who we like. “It is the right of the older sibling to ensure future embarrassment photos are secured before the younger sibling is old enough to protest.”

“We used to paint our little brother’s nails and dress him in our Disney princess dresses,”cornflake reveals. “He loved it and would ask us to dress him up. He isn’t gay (not that it would matter if he was). Funnily enough my sister and I, the owners of those princess dresses, are both dating other women.”

Our advice? She should wait until her husband is asleep and then assiduously apply a battery of L’oreal products to his face, so he can awaken in the morning and discover his own signature look for gorgeous eyes. Perhaps then he’ll realize that makeup will not make you gay, even when it makes you feel very pretty indeed.

Plus, as this story illustrates, a young boy like Ethan Wilwert (pictured above) can undergo an intense makeover and totally own it.

What do you think this woman should do with her bummer husband? Weigh in in the comments below.

Panicked Over Diving Poll Numbers, NC GOP Lawmaker Who Voted for HB2 is First to Call for its Repeal: WATCH

Panicked Over Diving Poll Numbers, NC GOP Lawmaker Who Voted for HB2 is First to Call for its Repeal: WATCH

Tamara Barringer

Republican State Senator Tamara Barringer, who voted for North Carolina’s anti-LGBT HB2, is now calling for its repeal because her re-election poll numbers are diving.

The desperate shift has been called “purely political” by her opponent, Democrat Susan Evans.

Said Barringer: “I did not realize the consequences of this bill, that it would have worldwide consequences, and they just keep piling up. So, at this point, I’m willing to stand up and say, ‘Let’s put the brakes on it. Let’s get together and find a common solution that we call can live with and move forward.’”

Barringer’s flip-flop comes after the NCAA said it would be moving all of its championship games out of North Carolina for the 2016-17 season. The NBA has also moved its 2017 All Star Game out of Charlotte. This on top of millions, perhaps billions in business losses for the state over the bigoted law which was passed by Republicans in a rushed special session last April.

The News & Observer reports:

Barringer has a well-funded election challenge this year from Wake County school board member Susan Evans, a Democrat. Evans’ campaign spokesman, Dustin Ingalls, said Barringer’s shift on HB2 won’t help her chances of re-election.

“When she voted for HB2 in March, Sen. Barringer knew what she was doing,” Ingalls said. “She knew the legal and economic consequences her constituents would experience. Only now that she’s in danger of losing her seat does she waffle. Her latest change of mind is certainly not a change of heart. It’s a purely political move designed to make voters forget that she is responsible for the loss of jobs and millions of dollars in economic investment in her district.”

No other Republican lawmaker in the state has publicly called for a full repeal of House Bill 2. But many legislators didn’t return calls and emails seeking comment on Tuesday, including other Wake County Republicans up for re-election in November: Sen. Chad Barefoot, Sen. John Alexander, Rep. Marilyn Avila, Rep. Nelson Dollar, Rep. Chris Malone and Rep. Gary Pendleton.

Watch a report on Barringer’s flip-flop from WNCN:

53 GOP Lawmakers in Tennessee Have Nothing Better to Do Than Try to Intervene in a Gay Couple’s Divorce

53 GOP Lawmakers in Tennessee Have Nothing Better to Do Than Try to Intervene in a Gay Couple’s Divorce

David Fowler

The Family Action Council of Tennessee (FACT) is representing 53 Republican legislators who are trying to intervene in a gay couple’s divorce because they’re still trying to fight the Supreme Court ruling that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide.

Sabrina Renae Witt and Erica Christine Witt are two married Knoxville women who are involved in a child custody battle.

The Tennessean reports:

The motion contends the legislators’ “unique and substantial interest in the legislative power and process will be impeded, impaired, and/or nullified” if courts interpret a state law “to apply to any persons other than a man and woman joined together as ‘husband’ and ‘wife.’ “

Knox County Circuit Court Judge Greg McMillan ruled in June that Erica Witt has no legal rights under Tennessee law to involvement with a daughter born to Sabrina Witt through artificial insemination, as reported by the News Sentinel at the time. The couple were legally married in Washington, D.C., in April 2014, when same-sex marriage was prohibited in Tennessee. There is still no state law on the books authorizing same-sex marriages, but they were validated by a U.S. Supreme Court ruling last year.

The motion appears basically to endorse the position taken by McMillan in his ruling. The judge decided — as argued by Erica Witt’s attorney — that the relevant Tennessee statute dealing with parenting rights in cases of artificial insemination speaks only to “husbands” of the birth mother and does not cover the mother’s same-sex spouse.

FACT’s executive director David Fowler who is leading the charge, is pretty much the state’s biggest anti-gay bigot.

In 2013, he argued that same-sex marriage needed to be stopped to protect children from humiliation.

He has been battling the Supreme Court’s Obergefell ruling since it was handed down. In January, Fowler said that if states had used his legal strategy in the 1950s, they could have avoided complying with the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling desegregating public schools in Brown v. Board of Education.

He filed two lawsuits in separate counties to try and prevent Tennessee from complying with the ruling.

Now he seems to be continuing his battle, but on the other side of the equation, by limiting divorce to opposite sex couples.

Said Fowler in a news release quoted by The Tennessean:

“[The 53 GOP lawmakers] are defending the will of the people. They understand the importance of this case constitutionally. This is not a case involving the policy that should be applicable in situations such as this. Rather, this case involves a very important constitutional question: Does the U.S. Supreme Court’s Obergefell decision authorize judges to determine for state legislative bodies what policies it must have relative to custody issues in divorce proceedings? If it does, then matters of family law, which have historically been within the constitutional powers of the states to determine, will have essentially been judicially taken from the states and placed in the hands of federal judges.”

Trump Foundation, Donations Under Scrutiny as NY Atty General Launches Investigation, Dems Demand DOJ Probe

Trump Foundation, Donations Under Scrutiny as NY Atty General Launches Investigation, Dems Demand DOJ Probe

Eric Schneiderman Trump foundation donations

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman on Tuesday announced that his office had launched an investigation of the Trump Foundation, the New York Daily News reports:

The probe will focus on several topics related to the GOP nominee’s charity, including its 2013 $25,000 donation to the Florida Attorney General’s campaign after her office said it was considering legal action against Trump University. Charities are barred, under IRS, rules from making any political donations.

The probe will also focus on purchases the charity purportedly made for Trump, including a $20,000 portrait of the mogul. Such purchases are also against IRS rules for charities.

In a subsequent interview with CNN Tuesday night, Schneiderman, whose office is already overseeing a $40 million suit against Trump related to his shuttered scam school, said he was investigating the charity “to make sure it’s complying with the laws governing charities in New York.”

Watch the CNN interview with Jake Tapper:

Said Schneiderman:

“We have been concerned that the Trump Foundation may have engaged in some impropriety from that point of view. And we’ve inquired into it and we’ve had correspondence with them. I didn’t make a big deal out of it or hold a press conference. But we have been looking into the Trump Foundation to make sure it’s complying with the laws governing charities in New York.”

Meanwhile, Democrats have asked the Department of Justice to investigate Trump donations to Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, the HuffPost reports:

In a letter sent to U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Tuesday, Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee pointed to a $25,000 donation that Trump’s charitable foundation improperly paid to a pro-Bondi group while her office was examining a lawsuit against Trump University. They noted that after the donation was received, Bondi declined to pursue a case against Trump’s controversial real estate seminar program or to join other states’ litigation. They also cited other donations in support of Bondi’s bid for re-election.

“This fact pattern indicates that these payments may have influenced Mrs. Bondi’s official decision not to participate in litigation against Mr. Trump,” wrote the Democrats, led by Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.). “A number of criminal statutes would appear to be implicated by this course of conduct,” they argued, pointing to laws against bribery, public corruption and hiding charitable foundation payments from the Internal Revenue Service.

Read the letter HERE.

Clinton has commented on the contribution:

The Trump campaign has responded to both investigations, the Washington Post reports:

Hope Hicks, a spokeswoman for the Republican presidential candidate, said: “That is a totally ridiculous and false mischaracterization that blatantly disregards the facts. This is clearly a politically motivated attempt to distract from all of Hillary Clinton’s issues.”

Of the New York Attorney General’s announcement, Trump communications adviser Jason Miller said: “Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is a partisan hack who has turned a blind eye to the Clinton Foundation for years and has endorsed Hillary Clinton for President. This is nothing more than another left-wing hit job designed to distract from Crooked Hillary Clinton’s disastrous week.”
