Colton Haynes Reminisces About His Teen Modeling Days
As summer gives way to autumn, it’s easy for even the strongest of us to get wistful about our second L’uomo Vogue modeling shoot.
Judging by a new Instagram post, Colton Haynes, only human, has been bitten by the bug, too.
“I remember my teens like they were yesterday,” he writes.
Those early days really helped me get comfortable in front of the camera cause coming from a small town, I had no idea what the hell I was doing. A friend sent this to me today and said “remember when u used to ask my mom for a dollar so u could eat Wendy’s with us?”. I just thought I’d share a lil story with y’all…feeling so very lucky to have the opportunity to do what I love. End Zoolander monologue lol

Molly Shannon Will Break Your Heart in Indie Dramedy ‘Other People’ – WATCH
Actress Molly Shannon gives a heartrending performance in the new indie film, Other People. The role has already generated Oscar buzz for the SNL alumna.
Other People is the first feature from writer/director Chris Kelly, who recently became the first out head writer at SNL.
The film follows a struggling comedy writer, fresh from breaking up with his boyfriend, as he moves home to Sacramento to help his sick mother. Living with his conservative father and younger sisters, he feels like a stranger in his childhood home. As his mother’s condition worsens, he tries to convince everyone (including himself) he’s “doing okay.”
Other People played at both Sundance and Outfest this past year.
In addition to Shannon, the film stars Jesse Plemons (who turns in a powerhouse performance) along with Bradley Whitford, Maude Apatow and June Squibb.
The film is currently open in select theaters across the U.S. and is also available on iTunes and other VOD services.

Equality NC & HRC to Pat McCrory: Repeal HB2 and Apologize for Vile Attacks on NCAA
Today, HRC and Equality NC, the statewide organization working to secure equal rights and justice for LGBTQ North Carolinians, hailed the NCAA’s decision to stand up for LGBTQ equality and slammed Gov. Pat McCrory for sanctioning a series of attacks on the organization rather than working to repeal HB2.
“Governor McCrory is so blinded by his own prejudice that he would rather sanction attacks on the NCAA while it stands up for fairness and equality rather than fix the problem and repeal HB2,” said HRC Senior Vice President of Policy and Political Affairs JoDee Winterhof. “The NCAA sent a direct message that dangerous laws targeting student athletes, fans and employees won’t be tolerated. Governor McCrory showed the nation yesterday his misplaced priorities. Instead of attacking the NCAA for doing the right thing, he should immediately apologize for his over the top attacks and repeal HB2.”
“As a North Carolinian I’m saddened and frustrated by Pat McCrory’s unwillingness to take responsibility,” said Equality NC Executive Director Chris Sgro. “Months after he signed HB2, it is painfully clear that the worst anti-LGBT bill in the nation is hurting the Tarheel state every single day — yet he does nothing. McCrory has tried to blame everyone for a bill that he alone signed. We need a real leader to step up and fix this situation, and McCrory refused to do that.”
Since the NCAA announcement yesterday, Town of Cary officials have estimated the Governor’s refusal to repeal HB2 will cost $2 million. The NCAA’s announcement follows the NBA’s recent decision to move the 2017 All-Star Game out of the state because of HB2, costing North Carolina an estimated 100 million dollars in All-Star Game related profits. Citing the hostile environment created by the anti-LGBTQ law, and after repeated warnings the league would move the event if the law remained on the books, the NBA announced it was moving the game out of Charlotte after state lawmakers failed to repeal the measure.
Recognizing the importance of creating a positive and conducive environment for business, in February, the Charlotte City Council passed city-wide non-discrimination protections for LGBTQ people. While city leaders sent a clear message that discrimination has no place in Charlotte, in response, Gov. McCrory and state lawmakers rammed HB2 into law and doubled down on discrimination.
The North Carolina General Assembly adjourned its short session in July after refusing to repeal HB2, and it is not scheduled to reconvene until January — leaving tens of thousands of people at risk for discrimination and harm over the months to come. Lawmakers made only one tweak to the deeply discriminatory law, restoring the right to sue in state court based on the limited number of characteristics that already were protected by state law. Despite widespread opposition to HB2, the General Assembly has been unwilling to even consider repealing the substance of the discriminatory law, including its ban on transgender people accessing restrooms consistent with their gender identity in government offices and schools, and its removal of municipalities’ ability to pass LGBTQ-inclusive nondiscrimination laws and minimum wage ordinances.
The economic fallout from HB2 continues to mount as companies concerned with protecting their consumers and employees have moved conventions, trainings, operations, and productions out of state. In the more than five months since Gov. McCrory and state lawmakers rammed HB2 into law, the outcry has continued to grow:
Anti-LGBTQ American Pastor Banned from Entering South Africa, Still Planning Visit to Botswana
Following a robust campaign by LGBTQ activists and allies in South Africa, Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba announced today that American pastor Steven Anderson has been banned from entering the country. Anderson is a pastor for the Arizona-based Faithful Word Baptist Church, which the Southern Poverty Law Center has designated as a hate group.
Human rights advocates in Botswana, the other country Anderson planned to visit, have launched a petition to get their government to follow South Africa’s lead and ban Anderson from visiting their country.
Anderson, a Holocaust denier, has called for gay people to be executed. In the aftermath of the Orlando Pulse nightclub tragedy in June, Anderson equated LGBTQ people to “perverts and pedophiles” and praised their murders.
Anderson’s planned visit to South Africa on September 17 and 18 whipped up a storm of protest from LGBTQ advocates and allies in the country. Advocates demanded that the South African government deny entry to Anderson and his team for their so-called “soul-winning” mission. A petition on change.org to stop his visit has almost 8,000 signatures. Several hotels and restaurants that accepted bookings from Anderson’s party cancelled them.
On September 5, advocates met with Minister Gigaba and the South African Human Rights Commission to press their case. In response to the meetings, Anderson released a video on September 6 criticizing the minister as “wicked” for meeting with LGBTQ advocates.
HRC stands in solidarity with the LGBTQ communities in South Africa and Botswana as they work to stop the hate from American anti-LGBTQ voices in their countries.
What's Truly Deplorable? The Seething Sexism of This Campaign
Like many Hillary Clinton supporters, writer Amanda Kerri has grown absolutely exhausted by the constant misogyny lobbed at the Democratic nominee. Maybe Hillary has, too.

Violence Erupts At Trump Rally As Man Punches, Chokes Protesters
At a rally on Monday in Asheville, North Carolina, while Donald Trump was in the middle of trying to convince everyone that his supporters are not “deplorables,” as Hillary Clinton recently characterized many of them as being, a man choked, punched and slapped protesters.

A group of eight demonstrators began shouting from the stands, exchanging words with Trump supporters. The man, who has not been identified, escalated the situation and became violent. Video shows him holding onto one of the male protesters by the neck and shirt, choking him and throwing a punch. A Trump campaign staffer gets between the men and begins escorting the protesters out. The Trump supporter then takes a slap at one of the female protesters.
Police officers, stationed throughout the arena, did not become involved. The protesters were removed from the rally but the unidentified Trump supporter was allowed to stay, reports CNN.
Moments earlier, Trump brought out a group of supporters, declaring them “hardworking Americans,” not “deplorables.”
After the demonstrators were removed a woman in a hijab tried to sit down and the man told her, “Get out!” He raised his arms over his head, fists clenched, in a victorious stance.

There have been multiple instances of violence at Trump rallies in the past, and the candidate once claimed he would like to punch a demonstrator in the face. A supporter was charged with assault in March after he punched a protester as he was being escorted out of the building. Trump suggested he might pay for the man’s legal fees.

Liam Hemsworth Is A Major Babe In Exclusive Photos From ‘The Dressmaker’
In Australian writer/director Jocelyn Moorhouse’s dark and quirky new film The Dressmaker, Academy Award winner Kate Winslet plays a savvy dressmaker (Till Dunnage) who returns to her rural Australian roots to uncover the truth behind her “notorious reputation.” Escandalo!
A high fashion fish-out-of-water, diving headfirst into a checkered past, all while giving major makeovers to the rough-and-tumble townsfolk? If that doesn’t have all the makings of a future gay classic, we don’t know what does.
And to add icing to the cake, Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games) plays Kate’s local farm stud love interest. Sold.

Just take the last line from the film’s synopsis: “Armed with only her sewing machine and haute couture style, Tilly shows she is a force to be reckoned with and that revenge never goes out of style.” Someone show us the fastest route to the popcorn, and go double on the butter.
As if it were any real surprise, Hemsworth looks utterly dashing in these exclusive shots from the film, which hits theaters on September 23rd:
