Seth Meyers Compares Scandals Surrounding Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump – WATCH

seth meyers scandals

Seth Meyers dug into scandals that have dogged each of the two major presidential campaigns this cycle, and came up with a maybe not surprising result: one of these things is not like the other.

Meyers touched on Clinton’s emails and her use of a private server during her tenure as Secretary of State, but he also got into accusations of ‘pay-for-play’ involving both the Clinton Foundation and the Trump Foundation.

And it turns out there are some pretty stark differences.

Said Meyers, “It’s not exactly clear what the Trump Foundation does. The Clinton Foundation provides lifesaving care to AIDS patients. While the Trump Foundation once gave $250 to the Special Olympics and $100 to the March of Dimes. Did he think the name meant that you could only give dimes?”

Meyers also dove into the Trump Foundation’s illegal campaign contribution to anti-gay Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, who dropped an investigation into Trump University around the time Trump made that donation.

Watch, below.

‘Gay Bachelor’ Robert Sepulveda Jr. Elaborates On What He Did, Didn’t Do In The Past

‘Gay Bachelor’ Robert Sepulveda Jr. Elaborates On What He Did, Didn’t Do In The Past

robert-sepulveda-jr-gym

A few years from now, Robert Sepulveda Jr. will be shrugging off reports that he was once the star of LOGO’s “Finding Prince Charming.” But for now, he’s continuing to come clean about his past — the rumors, the fact, and the (supposed) lies.

In an interview with People, Sepulveda addresses a number of topics, from private videos to furniture stores to paying the bills.

On his rumored adult film past:

“There are stories that I did porn. I never did porn.

“There is a video circulating out there that I shot privately and sent to an ex-boyfriend. It feels so violating that someone would take something so private and share it with the world. I want to work to make sure there are laws protecting people from similar situations. It’s just not right.”

Related: Should “Finding Prince Charming” Acknowledge Robert Sepúlveda Jr.’s Escorting Past?

On how he arrived at his decision to escort:

“The small furniture store I was working at suddenly went out of business.

“I didn’t know how I was going to pay rent or my [college] tuition or buy food.

“I saw no other way to support myself so I decided to do it too. I had all those expenses, I just knew that I had to do something. I had no other choice.”

On whether he expected his past to come up when he signed on to do Finding Prince Charming:

“I didn’t want to have to talk about that time in my life again. But I’m not ashamed of my past. I own it, and I talk about it with the guys on [Finding Prince Charming.]”

It begs the question: if he didn’t want to talk about his life, why sign on to be the focus of a reality dating show?

Finding Prince Charming premieres tonight at 9/8c on Logo.

Gifford admits that when he agreed to make the series he did not anticipate this, writing on Instagram that he thought only a “few thousand people would see it.”

“While I am incredibly nervous about the show being aired all over the world — especially in my home country — I believe in it with all my heart,” he added.

Washington Spirit Owner Blocks Players from Hearing National Anthem So Megan Rapinoe Can’t Protest

Washington Spirit Owner Blocks Players from Hearing National Anthem So Megan Rapinoe Can’t Protest

Megan Rapinoe

On Wednesday night, Bill Lynch, the owner of the Washington Spirit soccer team, took it upon himself to personally thwart protest of the National Anthem by FC Reign star Megan Rapinoe, and broadcast the national anthem while teams were in the locker room.

This prevented Rapinoe from refusing to stand during it, as she did on Sunday night in solidarity with 49ers star Colin Kaepernick. Kaepernick has been refusing to stand as a protest of the nation’s treatment of black people, and Rapinoe said she was also doing it for gay people.

The NY Post reports:

Rapinoe, a US national team member who plays for the Seattle Reign, and members of both teams warmed up for about 25 minutes following a rain delay. They then left the field before the anthem and returned shortly after for the start of the game.

On Sunday Rapinoe said:

“It was very intentional. It was a little nod to Kaepernick and everything that he’s standing for right now. I think it’s actually pretty disgusting the way he was treated and the way that a lot of the media has covered it and made it about something that it absolutely isn’t. We need to have a more thoughtful, two-sided conversation about racial issues in this country.

“Being a gay American, I know what it means to look at the flag and not have it protect all of your liberties. It was something small that I could do and something that I plan to keep doing in the future and hopefully spark some meaningful conversation around it. It’s important to have white people stand in support of people of color on this. We don’t need to be the leading voice, of course, but standing in support of them is something that’s really powerful.”

Lynch wasn’t having it, and sent out a lengthy press release about the same time he broadcast the national anthem, which you can read below:

— Jeff Kassouf (@JeffKassouf) September 7, 2016

Lynch said he was preventing fans and friends from being subject to disrespect from Rapinoe, and said he objected to her “hijacking” the national anthem for “a personal – albeit worthy – cause.”

Lynch explained that as a veteran-owned team, he couldn’t allow it.

Rapinoe reacted in an interview with the Washington Post:

“I didn’t hear it and I wasn’t exactly sure why it wasn’t played. It’s [expletive] unbelievable. Saddened by it. It’s pretty clear what the message is I am trying to bring to light in Chicago and what I continue to try to talk about the last few days. Clearly with [Spirit owner Bill Lynch’s] actions, it’s a necessary conversation. It was incredibly distasteful, four days before one of the worst tragedies in our country, to say that I tried to hijack this event. … It’s just really disappointing and disrespectful. We want to talk about disrespect, and me disrespecting, he didn’t even give both teams a chance to even stand in front of it and show their respects. It’s unbelievable. It’s truly an unbelievable act to me.”

Hillary Clinton Shares Powerful Story with Humans of New York About Why You Might Think She’s ‘Cold’

Hillary Clinton Shares Powerful Story with Humans of New York About Why You Might Think She’s ‘Cold’

hillary humans of new york

Hillary Clinton sat down to be photographed by the popular Facebook account Humans of New York and got personal about the public perception that she is ‘cold’ and ‘unemotional.’

Clinton opened up about what it was like as young woman attempting to enter the legal world, a world that at the time was not only predominantly male but also hostile to women entering its ranks:

“I was taking a law school admissions test in a big classroom at Harvard. My friend and I were some of the only women in the room. I was feeling nervous. I was a senior in college. I wasn’t sure how well I’d do. And while we’re waiting for the exam to start, a group of men began to yell things like: ‘You don’t need to be here.’ And ‘There’s plenty else you can do.’ It turned into a real ‘pile on.’ One of them even said: ‘If you take my spot, I’ll get drafted, and I’ll go to Vietnam, and I’ll die.’ And they weren’t kidding around. It was intense. It got very personal. But I couldn’t respond. I couldn’t afford to get distracted because I didn’t want to mess up the test. So I just kept looking down, hoping that the proctor would walk in the room. I know that I can be perceived as aloof or cold or unemotional. But I had to learn as a young woman to control my emotions. And that’s a hard path to walk. Because you need to protect yourself, you need to keep steady, but at the same time you don’t want to seem ‘walled off.’ And sometimes I think I come across more in the ‘walled off’ arena. And if I create that perception, then I take responsibility. I don’t view myself as cold or unemotional. And neither do my friends. And neither does my family. But if that sometimes is the perception I create, then I can’t blame people for thinking that.”

Clinton’s letter of sorts to Humans of New York comes just a day after Republicans accused her of appearing”angry”, “defensive”, and not smiley enough during Wednesday night’s Commander in Chief Forum on MSNBC.
