Log Cabin Republicans Cry Foul Over Ad Attacking Gay Congressional Candiate Paul Babeu – VIDEOS

The Log Cabin Republicans are calling on Democrats to apologize for an ad attacking gay Arizona congressional candidate Paul Babeu, who currently serves as sheriff in Pinal County.

The ad focuses on allegations of physical and sexual abuse at the DiSisto School, a boarding school in Massachusetts where Babeu once served as executive director.

“We can’t trust him with our kids,” states the ad from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “How can we trust him in Congress?”

“Attack ads don’t get more homophobic than this,” Log Cabin Republicans President Gregory T. Angelo said in a statement Tuesday. “Not only is this commercial factually inaccurate, but it shows just how low the DCCC is willing to go to stop a gay Republican from being elected to Congress.”

Babeu, who recently won his GOP primary, faces Democrat Tom O’Halleran in November in the fight to represent the 1st Congressional District, which includes much of Arizona outside Tucson and Phoenix.

Babeu was outed in 2012 after threatening to deport his ex-boyfriend. He was later cleared of any wrongdoing in that scandal, but it derailed his first congressional campaign. Babeu is also a Donald Trump supporter and longtime immigration hawk who’s been a regular on Fox News.

While at the DiSisto School, Babeu allegedly had a relationship with a 17-year-old student who lived in his home. Seventeen is the age of consent in Massachusetts, so their relationship was apparently legal if not inappropriate.

Three years after Babeu left the school in 2001, the state forced it to shut down.

Much of the footage from the DCCC ad is taken from ABC 15’s investigative report on Babeu’s tenure at the school that originally aired in 2012. The station has since devoted an entire page to its reporting on Babeu.

Meet Joe, a Dad for Transgender Equality

Joe’s son Penel expressed his true gender identity from a very early age, starting with a desire for short haircuts, the complete rejection of dresses, and, eventually, adopting masculine pronouns.

Penel initially came out to his mother, but Joe felt he needed to hear it for himself. Once Penel said to his father, “I’d like for you to call me a boy,” Joe’s acceptance and love never wavered.

“It was as simple as that. At that point it wasn’t really a hard decision because, to me, what difference does it make if I want to call you a boy or a girl?” Joe said. “I want you to feel that I’m confident in you and that I love you.”

While he and his family fully support young Penel, Joe does fear what the future might bring and wants his son to be equipped emotionally so he can be true to himself and not allow hateful people to stand in his way.

“It’s difficult to protect our kids from those who want to hurt them. But I do want to instill the confidence in Penel where he can stand up for himself and express it as well,” he said. “The one thing I want Penel to always know is that I am always here and his family’s always here. And no matter what happens, no matter how hard things get, I’m always here and he’s always great. That’s happiness to me.”

While Joe has become a vocal advocate for transgender youth, many LGBTQ young people lack crucial support from their families, and instead are rejected, leaving them at risk for homelessness, substance abuse, depression, and suicide. Up to 40 percent of homeless youth identify as LGBTQ.

Craig Jungwirth In Police Custody On Terrorist Threat Charge, Court Appearance Cancelled

Craig Jungwirth, who threatened a Pulse-style shooting after his Beach Bear Weekend event was revealed to be little more than a scam to bilk money out of the LGBTQ community, is in federal custody.

Orlando NBC affiliate WESH2 News reports that Jungwirth, 50, was arrested Saturday by the FBI on charges of “threatening communications.”

Jungwirth denied making the threats and refused to speak to authorities further. The FBI subpoenaed Facebook, which identified Jungwirth as the user of the account that posted the threats.

Jungwirth was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday but that hearing was postponed when he complained of chest pains and was taken to the hospital, according to WESH2 News.

In a post to Facebook user David Herbert, Jungwirth wrote, “My events are selling out cause you f**gots are total patsies. None of you deserve to live. If you losers thought the Pulse nightclub shooting was bad, wait till you see what I’m planning for Labor Day.”

When Herbert said he was contacting police, Jungwirth doubled down.

“I’m gonna be killing you f*gs faster than the cops kill n**gers. It’s time to clean up Wilton Manors from all you AIDS infested losers,” he wrote.

Jungwirth, who allegedly has a history of stalking and harassing his neighbors, is facing a possible sentence of five years in prison if found guilty. He could face arraignment as early as today.

Julian Assange Says More Clinton Leaks Could Come as Early as Next Week – WATCH

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange says he may release new private or personal documents intended to disparage Hillary Clinton as early as next week.

You’ll recall that WikiLeaks was behind the data dump of internal DNC emails that implicated party leadership as being against Bernie Sanders and led to the ouster of DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Assange told FOX News’ Sean Hannity on Tuesday, “The first batch is reasonably soon. We are quite confident about it now. We might put out some teasers as early as next week or the week after.”

Assange would not speculate on what the data dump will contain specifically but that there will be multiple batches of  leaks.

Hannity lauded Assange for exposing what he called corruption at the highest levels of the US government.

When Hannity posed a question about how WikiLeaks accounts for violating innocent peoples’ privacy, Assange responded by saying, “We specialize in bringing the first amendment to the world.”

Assange also insisted that Hillary Clinton lied when she told the FBI she didn’t know that “(c)” marking on emails sent to her during her tenure at the State Department meant that information included in that email was classified.

“It’s incredible for Clinton to lie about not knowing what (the marking) is,” Assange said. “And it’s a little bit disturbing (FBI Director) James Comey is along with that game.”
