Catholic Priest Who Said Gay Men Should Be Celibate Accused of Molesting Teenage Boy – VIDEO

priest molesting

A New York priest who in recent years called for gay Catholics to lead celibate lives to remain in “good standing” with the church has been accused of molesting a 15-year-old boy when he ran a parish in the Bronx in the 80s.

The alleged victim, now 43, came forward to police last month to accuse Father Anthony Giuliano, who now heads a church 85 miles outside Manhattan, of sexually abusing him when he was a member of Giuliano’s parish. Criminal charges are unlikely given that the statute of limitations has already run out. However, church officials indicated that the accusation is “credible.”

The New York Daily News reports:

“The allegation has been found to be credible,” Reverend Gerald Walsh, the Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of New York, to parishioners at St. John the Evangelist and St. Charles Borromeo churches, located in Pawling and Dover Plains.

The accuser told Bronx Special Victims Squad detectives that he was working in the rectory of Holy Rosary Church in Baychester between 1987 and 1988 when Giuliano befriended him. The two used to play wrestle, he told cops.

During one session, Giuliano told the teen that he was going to “take him to the back and give him a frontal,” according to police sources.

The teen thought Giuliano was talking about a wrestling maneuver — until the priest told him to lie down on the ground, pulled the teen’s pants and underwear down and molested him, police sources said.

Giuliano reportedly denied that the attack ever took place after the accusations initially surfaced. He told the Daily News, “This is a shock”, and “It never happened.”

Giuliano and his accuser both declined to comment this week.

In 2014, Giuliano did an interview about “Pope Francis and Gay Catholics” in which he said that gay Catholics should be celibate in order to receive communion and that the church would not change its fundamental teaching on the immorality of same-sex marriage.

“It must be a celibate life like with the priesthood,” Giuliano said of gay Catholics. He added, “We are celibate for a greater purpose.”

As for whether the church would ever accept same-sex marriage, Giuliano said, “We can’t say this for 2,000 years and then all of a sudden say, ‘Oh, we made a mistake for 2,000 years.’”

Watch video of Giuliano make those remarks, below.

Aspiring Make-Up Artist’s Senior Yearbook Photo Goes Viral

Aspiring Make-Up Artist’s Senior Yearbook Photo Goes Viral

An aspiring make-up artist from Bethlehem, New York has created quite possibly one of the most iconic high school yearbook photos of all time, and as a result become a viral sensation.

17-year-old James Charles was disappointed when his first round of senior yearbook photos came back.

Charles told BuzzFeed that the “lighting was not ideal for my makeup so all my hard work at 7am didn’t pay off.”

To fix the problem, Charles orchestrated a re-shoot. And the results were pretty spectacular.

So I retook my senior photos & brought my ring light with me so my highlight would be poppin. I love being extra 💀 pic.twitter.com/7Qu1yu8U2P

— James Charles (@jcharlesbeauty) September 5, 2016

Apparently, the big difference was the use of a ring light, which he set up on a tripod while the yearbook photo company shot the portrait.

More from BuzzFeed:

[Charles] said he wouldn’t normally go the extra mile like this but “it was my senior picture and I knew it would be in the yearbook forever”.

Charles said: “I do love being extra. I’m actually a pretty reserved person, I promise. When I say I’m extra it usually just comes to my makeup looks being extravagant, and I’m also never afraid to drag a local boy when he’s being rude on Twitter.”

Charles said he wanted to make sure his yearbook picture was “iconic”. His friend Delaney went along with him to the second shoot. Typically students get a chance to take a picture with their pals and, of course, Charles put his own spin on this as he and Delaney posed for his “mugshot”.

Instagram Photo

Of the response his photo has received online, Charles said,

“I knew it would do pretty well on my Instagram page because my followers were really excited when I posted selfies from the morning of the original picture day, but I DID NOT expect the tweet and Insta pic to blow up this much.”

Among Charles’ fans? Actress and singer Zendaya.

You win😍🙌🏽 t.co/c0qKrhApsq

And for those who don’t know what a ring light is (like me, prior to writing this post), watch this:

TONIGHT’S LIVE FORUM: Trump Would be “Disaster-in-Chief” for LGBTQ Service Members

TONIGHT’S LIVE FORUM: Trump Would be “Disaster-in-Chief” for LGBTQ Service Members

Ahead of tonight’s live “Commander-in-Chief Forum” discussing veterans’ issues and foreign policy, HRC is warning of the enormous threat a Trump-Pence ticket poses to the historic gains made over the last eight years on LGBTQ equality in the military.

Co-sponsored by the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, the forum comes as the nation approaches the five-year anniversary of the discriminatory “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) law being lifted on Sept. 20, 2011. Notably, Hillary Clinton long supported the repeal of DADT. While Tim Kaine voted to repeal DADT, Mike Pence voted against it, saying it would turn the military into “a backdrop for social experimentation.” Clinton committed early in the campaign to lifting the outdated ban on open service by transgender people, a policy that has since become a reality. She has also committed to upgrading the service records of LGBTQ people who were given less than honorable discharges because of their sexual orientation.

“I’ve seen firsthand how the progress we’ve made toward LGBTQ equality in the Armed Forces has improved military and family readiness,” said Stephen Peters, a spokesperson for the Human Rights Campaign and a Marine who was discharged under “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. “LGBTQ servicemembers can go to work and serve their country without having to worry about hiding who they are or whom they love. We cannot allow Donald Trump and Mike Pence to take that away from our brave men and women in uniform.”

Peters is also the founder and president emeritus of the American Military Partner Association.

Under President Obama’s leadership, DADT, the discriminatory law that prevented gay, lesbian and bisexual troops from serving openly, was repealed; equal benefits were ensured for the same-sex spouses of service members; and, most recently, the outdated ban on open service by transgender people was lifted. Trump has threatened to roll back the gains made both in the military and out, and, in choosing Mike Pence as his running mate, has embraced a politician who has made opposing LGBTQ equality a cornerstone of his career.

Hillary Clinton would continue building on the equality legacy of President Obama, ensuring that all service members are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. Secretary Clinton has made LGBTQ equality a pillar of her campaign and recently unveiled the most robust and ambitious LGBTQ plan any candidate for president has ever laid out. She has vowed to fight for the Equality Act — a bill that would finally offer explicit, clear, and permanent non-discrimination protections for LGBTQ people at the federal level — and her detailed LGBTQ policy platform specifically calls for outlawing dangerous “conversion therapy” for minors, ending the epidemic of transgender violence, and supporting HIV prevention and affordable treatment, among other proposals that would advance equality and support the LGBTQ community.

Paid for by Human Rights Campaign PAC and not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee.

A Deep Dive Into Donald Trump And Pam Bondi’s $25,000 Head-Scratching Relationship

A Deep Dive Into Donald Trump And Pam Bondi’s $25,000 Head-Scratching Relationship

trump-bondi

Nothing suspicious to see here, folks!

Donald Trump just really, really, really likes Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, for reasons that are totally legitimate and have nothing to do with shady rich people making each other richer. Maybe he just appreciates all the things they have in common, such as their rampant homophobia? Or maybe he likes her hypocritical pandering after the Orlando shooting? Who knows?

Related: Anderson Cooper Rails Against Florida AG: Are You Really A ‘Champion’ Of Gay Rights?

Whatever the reason, it was just discovered that in 2013 Trump gave $25,000 to support Bondi’s re-election just a few days after she announced that she’d be investigating his Trump “University” for fraud. After the donation, she suddenly wasn’t investigating him anymore. What an unbelievable coincidence! Especially after Trump has said in the past that he used to donate money to politicians all the time because “I was a businessman, and it was my obligation to get along with everybody.”

For what it’s worth, Bondi was one of the state’s top officials persecuting gay couples, attacking LGBTQ families on marriage and adoption. (Bondi herself is a serial seductress, marrying and divorcing a variety of men over the course of her life. But, naturally, she believes that she’s the one who ought to be defending marriage from us.)

After the donation, Trump had to pay an additional $2,500 in fines because the donation to Bondi’s supporters was against the law. (Charities can’t make political donations like that.)

“I never spoke to her,” Trump insisted. Meanwhile, Bondi claims that she personally called Trump to ask him for the donation directly.

Yes, you certainly can trust these people.

And we still have 61 days until the election, folks.

That James Franco/Nick Jonas Frat Boy Film Is Even Darker Than We Thought

Screen Shot 2016-09-07 at 9.46.55 AM

Back in July, we told you about Goat, the upcoming psychosexual thriller that pairs Nick Jonas and James Franco and delves into the darker aspects of frat culture: hazing rituals, unstoppered sadism, and the lengths frat boys will go in the name of “brotherhood.”

Well, judging by the official red band trailer, things are even more hardcore than we thought: you might be able to add bestiality into the mix, too.

All in all, this looks like it’ll be some sinister-sexy fun:

JK Rowling Faces Backlash After Twitter Thinks She Denied a Harry Potter Character Is Gay

JK Rowling Faces Backlash After Twitter Thinks She Denied a Harry Potter Character Is Gay

JK Rowling kevin swanson

Harry Potter author JK Rowling became the subject of online scorn after users on Twitter interpreted her Twitter bio as denying that one of her series’ most popular characters, Sirius Black, is not gay.

The confusion erupted after Rowling changed her profile to respond to a series of undetermined FAQs that many interpreted to be from a Harry Potter superfan.

“FAQ answers: 1) Because the Basilisk didn’t kill him 2) Next year, I hope 3) Yes 4) Wait and see 5) No, he isn’t 6) No, he really isn’t 7) Yes, I’m sure,” Rowling’s profile read.

Answers to 5, 6 and 7 were thought to be responses to a question about Black’s sexuality.

This is why Harry Potter stans are mad LMFAOOOO because she said a character wasn’t gay #JKRowlingIsOverParty pic.twitter.com/mRokTWp5pu

— // Venny // (@DarthVenn) September 6, 2016

That led to many on Twitter to attack Rowling.

YALL DONT WORRY I FIXED HIS HARRYPOTTERWIKI PAGE YOURE WELCOME 👌👅👊💦💯 #SiriusBlackIsGay #JKRowlingIsOverParty pic.twitter.com/vWSdET3xqY

#JKRowlingIsOverParty the Queen of queerbaiting and heteronormativity 😫💯👌🏻

— yona✩ (@moonyamelie) September 6, 2016

However, Rowling says that her FAQ responses were actually in reference to her ongoing criticism of UK Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.

@hoImesnwatson No, the last three ‘answers’ in my bio refer to the person who has dominated my notifications for the past 5 days.

— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) September 6, 2016

EVERYONE GOT SO MAD AND HER ANSWERS WERE ABOUT CORBYN WELL I HOPE U FEEL STUPID NOW

— Joker Jess (@WeasleyRiddle) September 6, 2016

Rowling has since removed the FAQ answers from her bio. She has changed it to read, “Never, ever be flippant in your Twitter bio. No good can come of it.”

Rowling also tweeted out thanks to those who sent her love during the debacle.

I’d just like to say, because it would be downright rude not to, THANK YOU for the huge number of wonderful messages I’ve been sent tonight.

— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) September 6, 2016

Twitter’s a strange place at times, but for every bit of hate I’ve received I’ve always had so much more love and support. Obrigada a todos!
