Paintball Perp To Be Charged With Hate Crime For Gay Bar Attack

Austin Richardson looks like a greeter at your local Abercrombie & Fitch chain, but don’t let that fool you.

The 18-year old, arrested in June after firing paintball pellets at revelers hanging outside a gay bar in Stockton, California, was charged on Tuesday in connected with the attack.

The incident occurred at the Paradise Club on June 12th, just as two customers were leaving the establishment.

19-year-old Branden Staples and an unnamed 16-year-old were also apprehended.

The three youngsters have been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and committing a hate crime.

As NewNowNext reports, paintball guns are more than kooky fun for obnoxious high schoolers. They can fire up to 190 miles per hour and impact could cause blindness, punctured organs, brain swelling, and even fatalities.

One club-goer, Robert Greenlee, said, “I’m just unhappy and angry with the situation. I never really felt unsafe, especially here—it’s kind of a home atmosphere. It’s always been safe and people here know their surroundings.”

One patron, a 26-year-old woman, was struck in the arm, and a 27-year-old man was shot in the back.

This was the second incident: the front of the Paradise had also been pelted with paint pellets a month earlier.

Lovers Dance a Dangerous Ballet in ‘Falling For You’ Music Video from Indie Singer Lyon Hart – WATCH

Singer/songwriter Lyon Hart (below right) has debuted a moving new music video for his song “Falling For You” that documents the ups and downs of a gay couple’s relationship.

The video cuts back and forth between a young couple living their everyday life–holding hands, watching movies, climbing into bed together–and that same couple stripped down and dancing a dangerous ballet that is in essence a metaphor for the moves and spills we make in relationships.

Substance abuse, physical abuse, emotional distance, intimacy, love, and chemistry are all explored in this clever and well-paced video that shows just how much love is really a dance where we don’t know the moves.

Considering the runaway success of Pokémon Go, it was only a matter of time before someone made gay porn parody. Especially since someone already made a straight version.

“The Gay Bachelor” Is Apparently Lying About A Failed Non-Profit He Doesn’t Even Run

Yes, he really is a prince among men: Robert Sepulveda Jr., star of a new dating-reality show, is a little dodgy with the facts on a nonprofit he says he runs. Or ran? It’s hard to untangle.

First, a little backstory: MTV arranged for a group of conventionally attractive gay clones to spend a few weeks performing a courtship ritual, with the results to be broadcast on Logo.

This idea is itself bizarre, as pointed out years ago by a Funny or Die video that predicted all the men would simply hook up with each other. The Funny or Die video features a cameo by Lance Bass, who’s also the host of the actual dating show, so who even knows what’s satire anymore.

Anyway, the gay bachelor (on the real show) is a guy named Robert Sepúlveda, who seems to have been an escort at some point. There was a lot of mock outrage about this news, which is really no big deal — oh, a sexy gay guy used his body to his advantage? Stop the presses.

But then Robert started trying to minimize his sex worker past, which is a bit of a bummer and kind of sex-negative. Whatever, it’s his life, and if he doesn’t want to talk about it, fine.

The pivot, though, raises some eyebrows. In trying to change the subject, he brought up his work with an Atlanta nonprofit that tried to get some rainbow crosswalks painted. They were slightly successful — some temporary crosswalks went in, then disappeared — so Robert’s group gave the money to a handful of other nonprofits that were able to actually make progress toward their mission statements.

The rainbow crosswalks nonprofit now seems to be shuttered, or at least isn’t doing any work anymore.

But: “I have a nonprofit,” he says in a promo video. So does he or doesn’t he? Well, he might’ve had one when they shot the video, since the nonprofit seems to have shut down shortly before filming started. The timeline’s muddy.

Either way, given the choice between talking about running a successful escort business or a failed nonprofit, we’d probably opt for the escort business.

Tom Daley Jokes That He and Dustin Lance Black Will Get Married in Speedos – VIDEO

British Olympic diver and bronze medalist Tom Daley gave away a few new details about his upcoming nuptials to screenwriter and director Dustin Lance Black.

In an interview with BBC Radio 1, Daley said that while the venue for their wedding hasn’t been booked yet, the event will likely take place next year.

“The date hasn’t officially been set yet but we’re thinking some time early next year, maybe spring next year,” Daley said.

Asked about whether the attire will be diving-themed, Daley quipped that it will be “swimwear-only.”

Also in the interview, Daley talked about those jacuzzis at the Rio Olympics. You know the ones.

Nebraska Man Gets Probation for Burning Gay Couple’s Pride Flag in Front of Their Home

Cameron Mayfield, a 25-year-old Nebraska man, was sentenced to two years probation for stealing and then waving and burning a gay couple’s pride flag in front of their home after he soaked it in gasoline in March 2015.

Before stealing a Gay Pride flag from a lesbian couple’s home in Omaha, Nebraska, setting it on fire and waving it in the street, Cameron Mayfield walked passed several houses with other flags.

Then, he hopped the couple’s front fence, yanked down the flag and returned to his house nearby, where he retrieved a gas can out of the garage. He drenched the flag, set it on fire, and walked back to the couple’s home, where he waved the burning flag in the street.

However, in court this week, Mayfield claimed the March 1, 2015 incident wasn’t a hate crime, saying he didn’t realize it was a gay Pride flag and that he didn’t know the couple was gay. He said he thought the flag was just a spring ornament.

The Omaha World-Herald reported on the sentencing:

Douglas County District Judge Duane Dougherty had found Cameron Mayfield, 25, guilty of third-degree arson motivated by the victim’s sexual orientation, a felony, in April. Dougherty could have sentenced Mayfield to as much as two years in prison and five years of probation.
