Bas Luhrmann’s 2001 film Moulin Rouge is being adapted into a Broadway musical: “Global Creatures is developing the show and has tapped “Skyfall” and “Gladiator” writer John Logan to craft the book and Alex Timbers, who previously oversaw “Peter and the Starcatcher” and “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson,” to direct the play.”

Corrupt and anti-gay state AG Ken Paxton asks federal court to freeze lawsuits challenging HB 2, North Carolina’s ‘bathroom bill’: “Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is asking a federal court to freeze non-Texas lawsuits against North Carolina‘s anti-LGBT law HB2, after he received a favorable ruling from a hand-picked court against the Obama administration’s guidance to protect transgender students.”

CROOKED DONALD. Trump to pay penalty to IRS for donating $25,000 to Florida AG Pam Bondi’s campaign: “The improper donation, a $25,000 gift from the Donald J. Trump Foundation, was made in 2013. We’re all about all-female reboots, but, like, who do we have to talk to about an all-male remake of Coyote Ugly? Let’s cast it! OK, Thomas Jane in Maria Bello’s role. Harry Shum Jr. taking over for Tyra Banks. For the ditzy blonde, we’ll throw in Colton Haynes, with Tristan Wilds playing the tough vet our hero has to win over. And who will play the sexy burgeoning singer-songwriter? Nick Jonas, obviously, come on.
Joyful Noise (2012), Available on Netflix September 1
We would watch Dolly Parton in anything, including this lightly preachy tale of a small-town choir that’s forced to change up their routine to win the big upcoming competition. If you’ve seen Step Up or Pitch Perfect or Bring It On (the list goes on), the plot will feel familiar. However, in addition to Parton, this film’s cast boasts Queen Latifah, Broadway hunk Jeremy Jordan and Scream Queens star Keke Palmer.
Last Holiday (2006), Available on Netflix September 1
If Joyful Noise doesn’t quite scratch your Queen Latifah itch, this feel-good comedy ought to do the trick. When Georgia Byrd (Latifah) learns she has a terminal illness, she takes carpe diem to a whole new level. It’s a more wholesome, less insufferable version of Eat, Pray, Love.
Practical Magic (1998), Available on Netflix September 1
Sisterhood, societal outcasts and Stockard Channing; what’s not to love? Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock are bewitching sisters bonding over murder, mischief and most importantly margaritas along with their aunts, played by Channing and Dianne Wiest.
Milk Money (1994), Available on Netflix September 1
Get all your questions about female sexuality finally answered by Melanie Griffith’s hooker with a heart of gold, V.
Sweeney Todd (2007), Available on Netflix September 1
We still prefer Jinkx Monsoon’s “A Little Twink” to Helena Bonham Carter’s “A Little Priest,” but this film adaptation of Sondheim’s Tony Award-winning musical horror is still a worthy watch. Johnny Depp is the titular Demon Barber of Fleet Street, once again never meeting a wig he didn’t like.
Roman Holiday (1953), Available on Hulu and Amazon September 1
The legendary Audrey Hepburn won an Oscar for this charming classic comedy. There are few ways to spend a more delightful afternoon than streaming this story of a princess tired of her rigid schedule embarking on an adventure with an American ex-pat played by Gregory Peck.
The First Wives Club (1996), Available on Hulu September 1
We dare you to watch the scene above from The First Wives Club and not feel giddy. Old college pals played by Diane Keaton, Goldie Hawn and the Divine Miss M, Bette Midler reunite to mourn their friend (Stockard Channing) and seek vengeance against their lousy exes.
The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), Available on Hulu September 1
Matt Damon’s tiny, neon green swim trunks alone are worth queueing this up (and pausing momentarily), but the thriller also has Jude Law at peak Jude Law.
Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction (2006), Available on Hulu and Amazon September 9
Sharon Stone plays Kim Cattrall playing Samantha Jones playing Catherine Tramell in this hilariously awful sequel. Stone is in full-tilt crazy mode, not so much oozing sexuality as much as she is plopping it all over whatever’s left of the scenery she hasn’t chewed to bits. The film was initially delayed release because Stone was upset there wasn’t enough nudity in it. She’s said she wants to direct and star in a third installment of Basic Instinct, and, bless her heart, we sure hope she does.
Sisters (2015)(September 10), Available on HBO September 10
You should make time for anything Tina Fey and Amy Poehler do together. This isn’t their strongest outing, but it’s still a whole lot of fun.
Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001) and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004), Available on Hulu September 15
Get ready for the upcoming release of Bridget Jones’s Baby by revisiting the first two films that made Renée Zellweger a star. The plucky rom-coms are the perfect rainy day viewing to curl up with a pint of ice cream, your best girlfriends and a bucket of cliches.

Not only is this Academy Award-winning biopic of gay cryptanalyst Alan Turing an engrossing film, but it helped raise awareness of the 49,000 gay men convicted under the same law that led to Turing’s chemical castration.

Madonna Endorses Hillary, Trashes Trump’s Sons as ‘Pussies’
Madonna officially endorsed Hillary Clinton for president on Thursday while also taking a swipe at Donald Trump’s sons.
The Queen of Pop made her endorsement on Instagram, sharing a widely-circulated photo of Trump’s sons Eric Trump an Donald Trump Jr. holding the dead carcass of a leopard they killed on a hunting trip in Africa.
Wrote Madonna, “How Big of [a] Pussy Do you have to BE to kill this Noble Animal for sport? Just ask Donald Trump Jr and his brother Eric. One more reason to vote for Hilary!”
As Mediaite/GossipCop point out, this isn’t the first time the brothers Trump have been called out by famous women outraged over their savage killing:
Sharon Osborne called the photo “disgusting,” and Mia Farrow commented, “What sort of person could kill this beautiful animal? Trump sons could.” Among the animals they proudly post pictures of after they’ve killed them are elephants, crocodiles, and buffalo.

Logo Had No Idea Their ‘Gay Bachelor’ Robert Sepulveda Jr. Once Worked as an Escort
A new report suggests TV network Logo was not aware that Robert Sepulveda Jr. had worked as an escort prior to being cast as the first ‘gay Bachelor’ on Finding Prince Charming.
Last week, reports about Sepulveda’s past began to surface. Yesterday, Sepulveda confirmed those rumors in an interview with Noah Michelson saying that sex work helped him pay for college. However, Sepulveda did not want to go into detail about having been a sex worker, nor did he care to comment on the online discourse being waged about his past. Sepulveda would say only, “The past is the past.”

Now, a source at Logo says the network was completely unaware that Sepulveda was once a sex worker until Finding Prince Charming was halfway through production. This presumably means that the show won’t address Sepulveda’s ‘past’ until at least halfway through the series–if at all.
The network was blindsided by the disclosure, TheWrap has learned, and is scrambling to contain the PR nightmare as gay activists join the growing chorus of critics for a show that’s been dubbed the gay version of “The Bachelor” and is set to premiere September 8.
A person close to the situation told TheWrap the network followed “standard protocol” when vetting Sepulveda and that “nothing came up during the background check.”
“The network didn’t find out well into production,” he added.

Logo’s official statement reads:
“‘Finding Prince Charming’ is a reality series about 13 people looking for Mr. Right. We look forward to taking viewers on a journey of the human spirit in search of love.”

After a photo surfaced showing the two men proudly holding up the corpse of a leopard, Sharon Osbourne cried “disgusting,” and Mia Farrow fumed, “What sort of person could kill this beautiful animal? Trump sons could.”
As Gossip Cop reports, Madonna is now voicing her own opinion about the sheaf of photos featuring the brothers striking a pose with their favorite carcasses, including dead elephants, crocodiles, buffalos, and more.

The image of a gigantic and extraordinarily dead leopard they shot dead is perhaps the crowning piece in their hellish trophy case.
