Omnipresent Adult Entertainment May Be Responsible For Erectile Dysfunction In Young Men

For the fourth time that day, you’re at it — computer screen and monitor transformed into a veritable pornoplex: seven different windows featuring seven increasingly sordid scenes. While your daily allowance of adult entertainment continues to pique your interest, everything else in life seems so… vanilla.

Take sex with actual people, for example. All those humdrum relationships and snoozy Grindr dates. You suppose the men were nominally attractive — in a funky, not-on-your-computer-screen sort of way — but none of them ever really get you going, and one thing you can’t fake is an erection. Midway through sex, all you ever want to do is run home and check in on your Pornhub “Favorites.”

If this scenario sounds at all familiar, you’re not alone. A leading psychosexual therapist claims adult entertainment’s abundance and availability is slowly poisoning men’s sex drives, causing a host of heath problems, both physical and psychological.

According to Angela Gregory, more and more men in their late teens and twenties are dealing with erectile dysfunction.

Pink News reports that Gregory is absolutely certain the problem stems from pornography.

Talking to BBC Newsbeat, she says, “What I’ve seen over the last 16 years, particularly the last five years, is an increase in the amount of younger men being referred.”

Our experience is that historically men that were referred to our clinic with problems with erectile dysfunction were older men whose issues were related to diabetes, MS, cardio vascular disease.”

“These younger men do not have organic disease, they’ve already been tested by their GP and everything is fine.”

“So one of the first assessment questions I’d always ask now is about pornography and masturbatory habit because that can be the cause of their issues about maintaining an erection with a partner.”

What do you think? Can an increased dependence on pornography wreak havoc on your sex drive and personal relationships? Weigh in in the comments below.

MTV’s ‘True Life’ Shares Stories from Orlando and More TV This Week

MTV’s ‘True Life’ Shares Stories from Orlando and More TV This Week

True Life: We Are Orlando and more TV this week

Check out our weekly guide to TV this week, and make sure you’re catching the big premieres, crucial episodes and the stuff you won’t admit you watch when no one’s looking.

MTV’s True Life follows the stories of four survivors of the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting in a new episode tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern. The heartbreaking special True Life: We Are Orlando follows the story of four survivors — Tony Marrero, Patience Carter, Tiara Parker and Joshua McGill — as they heal their physical and emotional traumas. MTV is also sharing a lot of digital content with even more stories from the Orlando LGBTQ community.

Lena (Sherri Saum) is worried about Mariana (Cierra Ramirez)’s competitive streak on a new episode of The Fosters tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern on Freeform. Callie (Maia Mitchell) also has a run-in with the law.

Looking for something lighter to watch tonight? What Cupcake Wars lacks in depth it makes up for in calories. Tonight, a special celebrity-studded episode of Food Network’s competition features Drake Bell, Glee’s Heather Morris, Lori Greiner from Shark Tank, and openly-gay trainer Bob Harper. Catch it tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern, hosted by Mean Girls’ Aaron Samuels himself, Jonathan Bennett. Grool.

The second season of Hulu’s Difficult People has been crushing it. Each episode is better than the one before, and there’s been an increased focus on the love life of Billy Epstein (Billy Eichner). Everything from steam room blowjobs to animal-themed gay subcultures have been skewered in the show’s razor-sharp second season. Don’t miss a new episode Tuesday.

The question on everyone’s mind is: What will Tonga be wearing during the Olympic closing ceremonies Sunday at 8 p.m. Eastern on NBC?

What are you watching this week on TV?

Peter Thiel Compares His ‘Outing’ to The Daily Beast’s Attack on Gay Olympians

Peter Thiel Compares His ‘Outing’ to The Daily Beast’s Attack on Gay Olympians

Peter Thiel fascist

In an op-ed published in today’s New York Times, homocon venture capitalist Peter Thiel compared his ‘outing’ by Gawker to that of Olympic athletes from anti-gay countries as perpetrated by Nico Hines and The Daily Beast in a piece on Grindr at the Olympics.

Thiel presumably wrote his article to coincide with the announcement that Gawker media will officially be put up for auction as a result of its legal battle with former wrestler Hulk Hogan over a sex tape which Gawker published without Hogan’s consent. Gawker ended up losing in court to the tune of $140 million. Thiel admitted to bankrolling Hogan’s case in an effort to bring down Gawker.

In his op-ed, Thiel made mention of last week’s post in The Daily Beast by Nico Hines that effectively outed gay Olympians at the Rio games who hail from anti-gay countries:

grindr olympicsUnfortunately, lurid interest in gay life isn’t a thing of the past. Last week, The Daily Beast published an article that effectively outed gay Olympic athletes, treating their sexuality as a curiosity for the sake of internet clicks. The article endangered the lives of gay men from less tolerant countries, and a public outcry led to its swift retraction. While the article never should have been published, the editors’ prompt response shows how journalistic norms can improve, if the public demands it.

As an internet entrepreneur myself, I feel partly responsible for a world in which private information can be instantly broadcast to the whole planet. I also know what it feels like to have one’s own privacy violated. In 2007, I was outed by the online gossip blog Gawker. It wasn’t so many years ago, but it was a different time: Gay men had to navigate a world that wasn’t always welcoming, and often faced difficult choices about how to live safely and with dignity. In my case, Gawker decided to make those choices for me. I had begun coming out to people I knew, and I planned to continue on my own terms. Instead, Gawker violated my privacy and cashed in on it.

It didn’t feel good, but I knew it could have been much worse. What I experienced would be minor in comparison with the cruelties that could be inflicted by someone willing to exploit the internet without moral limits.

The problem with Thiel’s comparison is that his life was never seemingly endangered by Gawker’s reporting. The one part that Thiel does get right is that “it could have been much worse” for him. In fact, it was much worse for the Olympians who were outed by The Daily Beast.

In his op-ed, Thiel also defended his speech at the RNC, saying he wants Americans to focus on “real problems instead of fighting fake culture wars.”

He says, “I’m glad that an arena full of Republicans stood up to applaud when I said I was proud to be gay, because gay pride shouldn’t be a partisan issue. All people deserve respect, and nobody’s sexuality should be made a public fixation.”

RELATED: Peter Thiel Tells RNC He’s ‘Proud to Be Gay’; GOP Platform Says That He Shouldn’t Be

Thiel adds that he is proud to have played a part in the downfall of Gawker:

For my part, I am proud to have contributed financial support to his case. I will support him until his final victory — Gawker said it intends to appeal — and I would gladly support someone else in the same position.

A year before the Bollea decision, Gawker retracted an article that outed the chief financial officer of Condé Nast. Gawker made the right decision by backing down, but I doubt the company would have done so without the pressure of Mr. Bollea’s continuing defense of his own rights. Nick Denton, Gawker’s founder and chief executive, used the occasion to defend the site’s coverage of Mr. Bollea, but he also wrote that it’s not enough for a story “simply to be true.” He was right about that: A story that violates privacy and serves no public interest should never be published.

For the unfamiliar, the brouhaha between Thiel and Gawker dates back to a 2007 post that named Thiel as gay. That post was seemingly intended to underscore the latent homophobia lurking within the tech industry.

Titled “Peter Thiel is totally gay, people”, the article asserted,

“Venture capital is a business about risk — but only the right kinds of risk. Unproven technology? Fine. A host of rivals? No problem. A gay founder? Oh, hey, wait a second. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. But someone else, somewhere else, might take issue with it. That’s VC thinking.”

However, Thiel viewed the post as an attack and went about seeking revenge on Gawker and its founder, Nick Denton–who also happens to be gay.

You can read about details of the Gawker media auction here.

Gay British Olympian Tom Bosworth Proposes to Boyfriend at Rio Games – LOOK

Gay British Olympian Tom Bosworth Proposes to Boyfriend at Rio Games – LOOK

Gay British track and field athlete Tom Bosworth proposed to his boyfriend Harry Dineley while in Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Olympics.

Bosworth, a race walker for Team GB (as in Great Britain), shared the above photo on Twitter of him down on one knee with ring box in hand. Bosworth captioned the photo simply, “He said YES!!!”

Bosworth had a strong showing at the Rio Olympics last week, finishing 6th in the 20K race walking event–impressive considering he was ranked 37th in the world in the lead to the games.

Ranked 37th… finished 6th. I’m not disappointed, I took it out, learnt from it, this is only the beginning of something great!

— Tom Bosworth (@TomBosworth) August 12, 2016

Just realised that I actually finished 6th at the Olympics. I wasn’t dreaming. Got goosebumps this morning! pic.twitter.com/Z0LgitlwZT

— Tom Bosworth (@TomBosworth) August 15, 2016

Bosworth came out in 2015, telling the BBC at the time,

“It’s a scary thing. I’m really lucky. I’ve got a loving partner, a great family behind me, a great setup in Leeds, and everyone is really supportive and really welcoming, but that’s not the same for everybody else in this world today, even in 2015. It’s difficult for people to speak with their friends and family about a lot of different issues, and in sport I don’t think being gay is still a normal thing.”

Bosworth has been sharing photos of him and his now fiancé on Twitter as they take in the sights of Rio de Janeiro.

Great day just being a normal person and celebrating this great season with my fam! Putting race walking on the map! pic.twitter.com/xJInus9ewg

Lovely day so far with H! pic.twitter.com/YhtnTVnIm0

Bosworth’s proposal is the second gay marriage proposal in Rio since the beginning of the Olympic games.
