TROPICS. Tropical depression Nine prepares to come inland: “Although the exact intensity is still uncertain, the NHC expects it to be a tropical storm when it moves inland, possibly a strong one. It’s not out of the question that it could be a low-end hurricane, and that’s why a hurricane watch has been issued for Florida’s Big Bend….After making landfall, the low will track northeastward and impact parts of the Southeast coast Thursday night into early Saturday. This is due to a southward dip in the jet stream in the eastern states that is pulling the system that direction….This weekend into early next week, there is at least some chance this system could affect the Northeast U.S., however details on impacts, if any, are very uncertain.”

AUSTRALIA. Opposition to push for gay marriage reform: “Labor will need the support of 76 of the 150 lawmakers in the lower chamber on Wednesday for debate on its gay marriage bill to start. Labor has only 69 seats, so it will rely on government lawmakers to break ranks from the ruling coalition, as well as the backing of up to five independent lawmakers.”

WHITE LIVES MATTER. Southern Poverty Law Center declares it a hate group: “The White Lives Matter website says their movement is dedicated to the preservation of the white race. That tells you all you need to know,” said Heidi Beirich, the director of the Intelligence Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Ala. “They’re against integration, immigration. This is standard white supremacist stuff.”

clownSOUTH CAROLINA. Police find no evidence scary clowns are trying to lure children into the woods. “Many of you have inquired about clowns being spotted in the woods near Fleetwood Manor Apartments.  As of today’s date, there has been one incident report filed with our office regarding this.  I have attached a copy of the incident report for your review.  In the report you will note there were two other calls related to this.  One call was regarding the clown sightings and the other call was in reference to gunshots being heard in the area.  In both calls, the complainants refused to give their names and no incident report was filed.  Our deputies did not locate anyone matching the description when they responded. ”

CHRIS BROWN. Singer arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon: “Officers responded to a woman’s call for help at Brown’s suburban Los Angeles residence around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to an LAPD spokesman. A search warrant was obtained by police Tuesday afternoon and law enforcement officials spent several hours at Brown’s residence before he was taken into custody. Brown will be transported to an LAPD jail for processing.”

Thanks to everyone for their support and well wishes. Chris is out and well. The allegations against him are demonstrably false #TeamBreezy

NYC. Vandal etches “fag” into man’s car window in Flatbush: “The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the vandalism, which took place on New York Ave. near Utica Ave. in East Flatbush on Thursday night. The victim told police he parked his 2001 Jeep Cherokee on the block at about 10 p.m. Thursday.”

Taj PattersonWILLIAMSBURG. Brooklyn neighborhood stonewalled investigation into beating of black gay man: “Hate Crimes Det. Eric Sanchez said neighbors, landlords and vendors only started cooperating after his bureau sent Jewish detectives to question people about the brutal Dec. 2013 beating of fashion student Taj Patterson.”

CALIFORNIA. Transgender man denied hysterectomy: “Evan Michael Minton claims Mercy San Juan in Carmichael refused to treat him because he is transgender. ‘For me, in order to live my most authentic life, this is what I need to do for myself,’ Minton said. Minton said he needs to have a hysterectomy three months before a phalloplasty. The hysterectomy was scheduled months in advance and everything seemed fine. He said they were “already pushing it close” because his phalloplasty was scheduled for Nov. 23.”

Twins – an update

Twins – an update

Julie Bracken posted a photo:

Twins - an update

Another year has passed since I last displayed a photo of my twin brother and I together.

Poor old boy, he has recently had to contend with major heart surgery and now awaits treatment for ‘gentleman problems’ in the nether regions. Age is certainly taking its toll on him, though he denies it strongly. But there is no denying his receding hairline!

On the other hand I go from strength to strength as my latest photoshoot with the delightful Kelayla down in Bournemouth attests.

You can see more on this YouTube link.

Australian stand-up comedian and actor Jim Jefferies told TMZ he wishes his home country would follow in America’s footsteps on gay marriage.

“Not for my benefit, but just for Australia not looking so backwards on the subject,” Jefferies said. “When America, and Ireland, and New Zealand achieve this goal and Australia still hasn’t done it, it’s kind of embarrassing.”

He goes on to call Australia “the gayest place on earth,” adding, “You go to Sydney and it’s like super gay. Biggest gay Mardi Gras in the world and they don’t have gay marriage.”

After saying he thinks “it should all be equal,” he floats a whole new concept.

“I’d actually prefer it if they banned heterosexual marriage,” he said.

Jefferies’ new stand-up special, “Freedumb” is currently available on Netflix. On it he discusses his reluctance to marry his girlfriend, the mother of his son.

He added that he believes the country will eventually pass same-sex marriage with a referendum “probably in the next couple of years.”

Children’s Musician Has A Message For The Anti-Trans Bathroom Bill Folks

Children’s Musician Has A Message For The Anti-Trans Bathroom Bill Folks

mr loops

Mr. Loops. Via YouTube.

So much has been said about anti-trans bathroom bills, such as North Carolina‘s HB2, it begins to feel like you cannot possibly hear a new word on the subject. Think again.

Children’s musician Mr. Loops, aka Jon Lewis, is out with a new song that aims to break the message down to its most simple and humane with the chorus:

“Pee is pee,

Poo is poo.

Me is me,

You is you.”

The verses explore the concept more deeply, acknowledging it as a hot button issue with the lines, “All we gotta do is use our common sense and then/We can a problem while still remaining friends.”

It also reminds, “Porta Potties are a potty everybody shares/So are potties in our houses and nobody cares.”

Lewis says his friend shared a meme on Facebook that pointed out Porta Potties have been gender neutral all along and nobody has cared, which prompted him to respond with what would become the chorus of the song. He says when others said they found his take on it amusing, as well as simple yet effectively communicative, an idea was born.

“I immediately thought that it could be a Mr. Loops song,” he says. “I imagined kids and families singing it and laughing, all the while instilling a sense of acceptance and awareness to this ‘issue.’”

A conversation he overheard in a cafe reinforced his desire to record the song, which he says took about three months, including creating the animation and making the video – Lewis is also a filmmaker.

A customer called the waiter over and laughingly asked where the gender neutral bathroom was, he says.

“Out back in the alley,” Lewis remembers the waiter saying.

He hopes the song and accompanying video will help start a positive and empathetic dialogue. It is one many find difficult to have, especially with children.

Police Investigating Orlando-Style Threat to Gay Bars in Wilton Manors, Florida on Labor Day Weekend

Police Investigating Orlando-Style Threat to Gay Bars in Wilton Manors, Florida on Labor Day Weekend

Craig Jungwirth

Police and reportedly the FBI are investigating the threat of an Orlando-style attack on gay people and businesses in Wilton Manors, Florida made by an internet troll with a criminal history and a record of harassing the gay community.

The man, Craig Jungwirth, left this message on the page of a Facebook user:

My events are selling out cause you faggots are total patsies. None of you deserve to live. If you losers thought the Pulse nightclub shooting was bad, wait till you see what I’m planning for Labor Day.

You can’t never catch a genius from MIT and since you faggots aren’t dying from AIDS anymore, I have a better solution to exterminate you losers. [SNIP]

I’m gonna be killing you fags faster than the cops kill ni**ers. It’s time to clean up Wilton Manors from all you AIDS infested losers.

Jungwirth has been on the radar of South Florida’s gay community for some time.

Writes the blog Peacock Panache:

Earlier this year we reported on Craig Jungwirth – a man who took over the Beach Bear Weekend event in Florida and used it to solicit and scam money from unsuspecting members of the LGBTQ community. What began as a story of his harassment of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence exploded after information surfaced that not only were the events listed for his Beach Bear Weekend event fake but also all hotel bookings through the event website didn’t actually reserve local hotels (as they’d never spoken to Jungwirth or any event organizers).

Following those two stories (here and here) Craig Jungwirth embarked on a harassment campaign against both this publication as well as the individual writers associated with it. He sent harassing text messages. He left vaguely threatening voice mails. He bombarded our social media and comments sections with spam and threats. He even attempted to hack our server several times to access the articles written about him.

The Wilton Manors Police Department released a statement:

The Wilton Manors Police Department (WMPD) takes all matters seriously especially when someone threatens the lives of the Wilton Manors Community to include our residents, business owners/employees, visitors, and the surrounding communities. The Wilton Manors Police Department is aware of this serious matter and our department is currently conducting an on-going investigation on this matter and the individual(s) involved. Due to the on-going investigation we are unable to provide any details about the investigation and what current information our department has learned about this matter and the individual(s) involved at this time.

Please know that our Police Officers and Detectives are thoroughly investigating this serious matter and we ask the community to continue to contact local law enforcement officials should they hear or see any other additional posts on Social Media/new threats made by these individual(s) or anyone else.

For all EMERGENCY type calls please Dial 9-1-1 and for all NON-EMERGENCY / REGIONAL DISPATCH type calls please call (954) 764-HELP (4357).

NBC6 reports:

“Jungwirth has a lengthy criminal history which includes stalking charges. He has a handful of restraining orders against him. Police are asking anyone else who has been threatened by Jungwirth to call them.”

Tiffany ‘New York’ Pollard Helms New Gay Dating Show Based Around Ex-Boyfriends: WATCH

gay dating show the ex

Tiffany “New York” Pollard (Flavor of Love, I Love New York) is returning to reality TV for a new gay dating show based around ex-boyfriends competing to go on dates with a pool of new men.

Pollard serves as host of the show. Says Pollard in the teaser: “I have such a connection with my gay fans. I love them so much because they understand what it is to be misunderstood.”

We see just a few of the contestants in the teaser but YouTube commenters have already noted the obvious: they all seem to be “bland white twinks.”

This could be just a teaser filmed to generate interest with little in the can except what we see here. No word yet on where it will air or when.

Primary Results: McCain, Wasserman Schultz, Murphy, Rubio, Babeu

Primary Results: McCain, Wasserman Schultz, Murphy, Rubio, Babeu

john mccain orlandoARIZONA. John McCain defeated Kelli Ward and Clair Van Steenwyk: “McCain, R-Ariz., who is seeking a sixth, six-year Senate term, had been targeted for defeat by conservatives who deem him too liberal on issues such as immigration reform and gun control. But as he did in his 2010 GOP primary, McCain on Tuesday appeared to be outpacing his opponents on the right, leading Ward by a wide margin among early votes in the most-populous Maricopa County.”

debbie Wasserman schultz gavelFLORIDA. Former DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz wins: “Wasserman Schultz dispatched a challenge from law professor Tim Canova who sought to capitalize on the controversies surrounding her tenure at the DNC and ride on the popularity of Sanders. With 81 percent of the vote counted, Wasserman Schultz had 57 percent to Canova’s 42 percent, the Associated Press reported. ”

Patrick MurphyFLORIDA. U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy fought off Alan Grayson: “In winning Tuesday, Murphy overcame a series of self-inflicted résumé gaffes uncovered by the Herald/Times. The revelations did little damage to Murphy in the primary because his chief opponent, Grayson, struggled under the scrutiny of an on-going Congressional ethics investigation into offshore hedge funds he managed while in office and allegations that emerged in July by his former wife that Grayson had physically abused her during their previous 25-year marriage.”  He’ll face Marco Rubio in November.

Marco RubioFLORIDA. Marco Rubio defeated Carlos Beruff: “Beruff built his campaign around blasting Rubio for his poor attendance record while he was running for president and trying to plant seeds of doubt in Republican voters minds about whether Rubio would even serve out a new six-year-term or leave early to run for president again. Beruff also tried to align himself with Donald Trump, frequently mentioning the he, too, is a businessman running for office for the first time. But Trump never embraced Beruff, instead publicly endorsing Rubio during campaign stops in Florida.”

paul_babeu_and_joseARIZONA. Paul Babeu defeated four challengers to win the right to run for Congress: “Incumbent Ann Kirkpatrick is vacating the seat to run for U.S. Senate, and Democrat Tom O’Halleran easily won the Democratic primary Tuesday. ” FLASHBACK: “Babeu, a Republican, first ran for Congress in 2012 before pulling out of the race after news broke of his relationship with an undocumented male immigrant. That man alleged that Babeu threatened him with deportation if he divulged details of his relationship with Babeu. Babeu was not out at the time and had a staunch anti-immigration record, giving the story plenty of legs. A state investigation exonerated Babeu but the scandaldestroyed his congressional ambitions at the time.
