Obama: Trump Keeps on Proving He’s Unfit to President – WATCH

President Obama on Tuesday kept up his assault on Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, saying that he believes Trump is “unfit” to be commander-in-chief.

President Obama sharply rebuked Trump last week in his much-lauded speech at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

Speaking before reporters at a press conference with the Prime Minister of Singapore, President Obama said of Trump, “The fact that he doesn’t appear to have basic knowledge around critical issues in Europe, in the Middle East, in Asia means that he’s woefully unprepared to do this job.”

Drawing a distinction between Trump and past Republican presidential nominees, Obama made clear that while he disagreed with John McCain and Mitt Romney, whom he faced off against in 2008 and 2012 respectively, he never doubted that either individual would be able to faithfully execute the duties of commander-in-chief. Obama could not say the same about Trump. He explained,

“I never thought that [McCain or Romney] couldn’t do the job. And had they won I would’ve been disappointed but I would have said to all Americans, ‘This is our president. And I know that they are going to abide by certain norms and rules and common sense; will observe basic decency, will have enough knowledge about economic policy and foreign policy, and our constitutional traditions and rule of law that our government will work. And we will compete four years from now to try and win an election.’ But that’s not the situation here. And that’s not just my opinion. That’s the opinion of many prominent Republicans. There has to come a point at which you say enough. And the alternative is that the entire party — the Republican party — effectively endorses and validates the positions that are being taken by Mr. Trump.

Antigay Senator: Stop Talking About The Naughty Homemade Tape On My State-Issued Computer

Well, this is sure embarrassing!

Republican Sen. Bill Kintner of Nebraska is being pressured to resign by members of his own party after a very naughty video of him was discovered on his state-issued computer.

That’s right, folks, the 55-year-old anti-LGBTQ “family values” politician who opposes both gay marriage and gay adoption allegedly used his taxpayer funded computer to store homemade videos.

The investigation into Kintner’s extracurricular online activities has been quietly going on for about a year now. It all started when the senator contacted Nebraska State Patrol about “what he believed to be a potential internet scam that occurred while the senator was in Massachusetts using his state computer,” officials said.

While authorities were investigating that, they discovered his questionable video. Investigators have not said exactly what was on of the it other than to say it was a “sexually explicit video involving Kintner.”

Now, Republican Gov. Pete Ricketts is calling on Kintner to resign. In a statement, he said: “Due to the ongoing investigation of this issue, I have been unable to say anything publicly. If the allegations are true, Senator Kintner needs to resign.”

Seattle Bans Gay Conversion Therapy, Which is Still Perfectly Legal in 80% of the Nation

Seattle on Monday became the fourth city and the ninth U.S. jurisdiction to ban the harmful, discredited practice of gay conversion therapy for minors.

However, despite the fact it is opposed by virtually all of the major medical and mental health organizations, conversion therapy remains legal in nearly 80 percent of the nation, according to Towleroad’s calculations.

In addition to Seattle, gay conversion therapy is now banned in Cincinnati, Miami Beach and Washington, D.C., as well as five states: California, Illinois, New Jersey, Oregon and Vermont. (Some of the bans explicitly include gender identity, while others do not.)

According to 2014 Census estimates, those nine jurisdictions were home to 70 million people in 2014, or 21 percent of the nation’s total population of 318.9 million.

Seattle’s ban, which passed the City Council unanimously, imposes a fine of up to $1,000 on licensed mental health providers who try to change the sexual orientation or gender identity of people under 18, according to the Post-Intellegencer. The ban also makes it a misdemeanor charge to advertise the service, but it doesn’t apply to adult clients or faith-based practitioners.

Seattle Councilwoman Lorena Gonzalez brought forward the ordinance after a conversion therapy ban passed the Washington state House, but died in the Republican-controlled Senate, in 2014.

Last month, delegates to the Republican National Convention added a plank to the party’s platform saying parents should be free to make medical decisions about their children without interference, which many have interpreted as an endorsement of LGBT conversion therapy.

Joe Biden Marries Gay White House Staffers, Makes History – VIDEO

Vice President Joe Biden married two gay White House staffers at his residence in Washington, D.C. on Monday.

The ceremony marked the first time Biden has married a couple and also the first time he has married a same-sex couple.

Biden’s office told BuzzFeed that Brian Mosteller and Joe Mahshie’s wedding took place at 4 PM Monday at the Naval Observatory, the residence traditionally occupied by the Vice President.

Biden shared the news on Twitter with a photo from the ceremony. He wrote, “Proud to marry Brian and Joe at my house. Couldn’t be happier, two longtime White House staffers, two great guys.”

Biden obtained a temporary certification from the District of Columbia in order to perform the ceremony.

Biden endorsed marriage equality in 2012 in a now-infamous interview on Meet the Press, putting him ahead of President Obama on the issue and sending The White House into a media tailspin at the time.

Pokemon Go Identifies Gay Club as a ‘Lifestyle Choice Club’

A user on Reddit posted a screenshot to the Gaybros subreddit noting that a gay club in his area was labeled with a name that implies that being gay is a “lifestyle choice.”

“WTF? Pokemon Go is listing a nearby gay club as a ‘lifestyle choice club’.” the user said.

Other Redditors explained that place names were labeled by users of a pre-Pokemon game also made by the software company Niantic, called Ingress and suggested submitting a report to the company.

Other users thought the label was tongue-in-cheek, though there’s no real way of determining that.

“Well, Pokémon GO is a lifestyle choice…,” added another.

Gay California Bear Petitions for Place on the State Flag: WATCH

The grizzly bear is on the California Flag even though the last grizzly bear to inhabit California was killed in 1924. The Center for biological Diversity is making a push to reintroduce the species in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

To create some awareness around their campaign they posted a video featuring another kind of bear – a gay one – petioning for himself to be put on the flag.
