Colton Haynes Will Join John Stamos And Taylor Lautner In ‘Scream Queens’ Season 2

Colton Haynes Will Join John Stamos And Taylor Lautner In ‘Scream Queens’ Season 2

Colton Haynes. John Stamos. Taylor Lautner. Buckets of thick arterial blood spurting against the windows, trickling down the stairs, and dripping all over mom’s beautiful new carpet.

Some stories have all the elements.

Yes, the new season of Scream Queens continues to teeter towards honorary softcore porn with its endless proliferation of handsome additions to the cast, most of whom will wind up disemboweled or otherwise eviscerated during the course of the story.

According to Entertainment WeeklyHaynes will be playing a “mysterious role” in the series, which moves the action from college to a hospital of abject terror owned by the superiorly-named Cathy Munsch (played by Jamie Lee Curtis.)

While there’s no saying how Haynes will fit into the show, Stamos and Lautner are confirmed to be playing extremely sexy doctors, both of whom will remain nominally attractive even after they’ve been decapitated and their white lab coats are flecked with viscera and strands of ganglia.

The new season premieres September 20th on Fox. Set those DVRs, fellas.

This Gay Republican Hates Democrats So Much He’s Willing To Give Up His Rights To Defeat Them

This Gay Republican Hates Democrats So Much He’s Willing To Give Up His Rights To Defeat Them

colton-buckley

Meet Colton L. Buckley, a self-described “fiscally conservative, socially awesome” gay RNC delegate from Texas who doesn’t believe in gay marriage, hates Hillary Clinton and looks forward to meeting Jesus at the gates of Heaven so they can debate the merits of homosexuality.

Related: Five Reasons To Explain Mystery Of Why Peter Thiel Supports Donald Trump

Buckley shared his political philosophies yesterday with Slate in a video interview that is mildly offensive, slightly amusing and truly befuddling.

“I may be probably one of the most conservative gay Republicans here because I don’t believe in same-sex marriage,” Buckley says. “As a gay man, I don’t believe the government should be handing out marriage licenses.”

Oh, but it gets better.

He also compares being a gay Republican to “being an African American in the ’30s, ’40s and ’50s and ’60s.”

“It’s a long haul,” be says, “and we’ll continue that march!”

Related: Donald Trump Promises To Protect The LGBTQ Community, Twitter Reacts

And as for that darned GOP platform with all hateful homophobic rhetoric, Buckley’s not too concerned.

“I mean, there’s a slim, quarter-page of the platform that says, you know, ‘we don’t support same sex marriage, we don’t support these types of things, et cetera,’” he says, “but I would rather deal with a Republican who will say ‘I don’t necessarily agree with you’ than deal with someone who aligns himself with Hillary Clinton and the Democrats.”

But our favorite part of the interview has to be when he talks about the impending conversation he plans on having with Jesus H. Christ.

“Me being a gay man in the Republican party and me being a Baptist, that is between me and Jesus Christ,” he says, “and when I get to Heaven and get to those gates, he and I will have that conversation.”

Watch the full interview below. Or don’t.

Hillary Clinton is holding a rally in Tampa, Florida on Friday and might reveal who her VP pick will be. While it was widely rumored that Clinton would leak her selection on Friday, a shooting in Munich, Germany that has killed at least 8 people has seemingly led the campaign to stall its announcement.

Clinton will be traveling to the rally in Tampa after meeting with family members and friends of victims of the Orlando massacre. Clinton also visited the Pulse nightclub on Friday.

Hillary Clinton Visits Pulse Nightclub, Meets Families and Friends of Orlando Victims – VIDEOS, PHOTOS

hillary clinton orlando

Hillary Clinton visited the site of the Pulse nightclub massacre in Orlando, Florida on Friday and met with local leaders as well as family members and friends of the 49 victims who lost their lives on June 12.

Clinton met the bereaved privately, according to NPR’s Tamara Keith, before leading a roundtable discussion with local leaders. She then visited the Pulse nightclub to lay flowers at a memorial that has been created to honor the victims.

Clinton’s visit to Orlando was her first public appearance since the RNC officially wrapped its convention with a flurry of fear-mongering. What Clinton offered up on Friday was in stark contrast to the doom and gloom presented by Trump in his acceptance speech Thursday night.

Moreover, Clinton demonstrated what real support for the LGBTQ community looks like. Whereas Trump was content to merely name-check the LGBTQ community in his speech while at the same time supporting a virulently anti-gay platform, Clinton consoled people who lost loved ones in Orlando; she discussed what could be done to better protect LGBT people in the future; she acknowledged the disproportionate threat of violence that LGBT people face compared to all other groups in the U.S.; and she thanked Orlando’s first responders for their bravery the night of the massacre. In other words, it was “peak Clinton”, as Tamara Keith put it.

— Tamara Keith (@tamarakeithNPR) July 22, 2016

Said Clinton in her remarks,

“We need to acknowledge and be very clear who this attack targeted: the Latino LGBT community…What does that mean? Among other things it means that it is still dangerous to be LGBT in America. I think it is an unfortunate fact but one that needs to be said that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people are more likely than any other group in our country to be hate crimed. They face a very complicated intersecting set of challenges in general and specifically even more so as people of color.”

She added, “We have to stand against hate and bigotry. I was really moved by everyone who stood in solidarity with the victims here in Orlando.”

Of what can be done to prevent a massacre similar to the one in Orlando from transpiring ever again, Clinton said, “We have to take on the epidemic of gun violence, particularly assault weapons…The havoc they leave in their wake is no longer tolerable….[And we have to] disrupt the global online network that radicalizes people here in the United States.”

She closed by saying, “I will do everything I can, both in this campaign but [also] after it, to stand with you and to support you and to try to promote the kinds of changes that will prevent this from happening to other people, other families and other communities in the future.”

The Orlando Sentinel reports on the meeting:

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, who led the meeting alongside Clinton, said he would not wade into policy but called for unity and inclusiveness.

“We need to better understand how we come together, that we are stronger when we appreciate the similarities that we have and don’t focus on the differences,” Dyer said.

Orlando District 4 Commissioner Patty Sheehan tearfully lamented the loss of young life at Pulse, where 49 people were killed in a mass shooting June 12. She noted that the massacre happened in a gay nightclub on Latin Night.

“This was a very diverse group of millennials, who are our answer to these problems in America,” Sheehan said.

Click Orlando adds, “The families of the Pulse shooting survivors were also at the meeting, crying as the discussion focused on the attack.”

The Circus of the Republican National Convention in 58 Genius Sketches by Jon Bailiff

If you’ve been following Towleroad’s election coverage of the Republican National Convention you’ve seen some of the incisive recaps of the week by author Susie Bright (if you’ve missed them, read Night 1, Night 2, Night 3, and Night 4) and if you’ve followed our primetime coverage on Twitter @TLRD you’ve read Susie’s commentary and seen the GOP convention play out in dozens of brilliant spontaneous sketches by Jon Bailiff.

We’ve rounded up Bailiff’s sketches in a gallery that offers you a look back at the twisted carnival of characters that made up this year’s RNC Convention. If Trump is “the ultimate ringmaster,” as speaker Michelle Van Etten noted, here too are the beasts, the stunt acts, the clowns, and the sideshow performers.

Enjoy.

Colton Haynes Joins the Cast of ‘Scream Queens’ for Season 2

colton haynes

Colton Haynes will be joining the second season of Ryan Murphy’s TV show Scream Queens, the campy and soapy send-up of slasher films that debuted last year on Fox.

While season 1 took place largely in sorority and frat houses, season 2 will reportedly focus on a hospital, with many of the same faces returning.

Entertainment Weekly reports:

EW can reveal exclusively that Colton Haynes (Arrow) will guest star in a mystery role when the show returns this fall.

The second season of the Fox series finds Cathy Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis) in ownership of a hospital with the Chanels – Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, and Abigail Breslin – all working there too. Series newcomers John Stamos and Taylor Lautner play doctors.

Haynes also shared the news on Instagram, writing, “Very excited to share the news 🙂 Cant wait to start work on Scream Queens Season 2!!! :)”

Haynes made a name for himself on the MTV show Teen Wolf before becoming a recurring character on CW’s Arrow.

Haynes recently launched his own line of fan merchandise, which was met with both praise and derision on Twitter.

Earlier this year, the actor confirmed that he is gay after speculation intensified about his “secret gay past.”
