Colton Haynes Claps Back at Noah Galvin: ‘When Did He Become The Judge of What’s Appropriate?’

Colton Haynes blasted actor Noah Galvin on Instagram on Thursday, responding to Galvin’s criticism of how Haynes publicly came out as gay.

In an interview with Vulture, Galvin said,

“That’s not coming out. That’s f*cking pussy bullsh*t. That’s like, enough people assume that I sleep with men, so I’m just going to slightly confirm the fact that I’ve sucked a dick or two. That’s not doing anything for the little gays but giving them more masturbation material.”

Galvin later apologized for those remarks, saying,

“To Colton Haynes and to the LGBTQ youth, especially those who have embraced our show, I have no right to dictate how or when anybody comes out of the closet; I know how difficult and scary the process of coming out can be, and the last thing I would ever want to do is make it scarier.”

Shortly thereafter, Haynes posted his response to Instagram:

It’s extremely ironic that only a month ago I was tweeting this kid & saying that he should win an Emmy for his work. Then today he returns the favor by calling me a pussy & the worst to the entire world. Let me just clarify, I’ve never met this kid, so for him to judge me without even meeting & having no idea the struggles I’ve been through or where I come from is absolutely uncalled for and quite frankly embarrassing on his part. Since when is a three pg article in Entertainment Weekly not an appropriate way to come out? And since when did he become the judge of what’s appropriate. Shouldn’t we all be supporting each other? Enjoy all of your success. You’re young kid…hopefully you’ll eventually learn a thing or two. Good luck. I’m sure I’ll seeya around. – Colton Pussy Haynes

Fragile Fox News Hosts Cope With Reality By Mocking Trans Teen

Fragile Fox News Hosts Cope With Reality By Mocking Trans Teen

Screen Shot 2016-06-09 at 5.01.12 PM

Are you ready for your daily dose of Fox News eye-rolling? Well, just feast your eyes on Laura Ingraham, who can’t wait to make fun of vulnerable teens. Great job, lady, you’re a real winner.

The context is a Fox & Friends conversation about a female track athlete who once presented as male. She is described by one host in stupid detail: “born male, identifies now as female,” says Steve Doocy, to which Laura simply says, “no.”

“None of anyone’s goddamn business” is a more accurate way of describing this student’s gender, but apparently Laura thinks she has veto power over strangers she’s never met. Great.

Anyway, her main objection to this student seems to be that “I don’t think it’s really fair” for someone who once presented as male to compete against cis women. Boys are biologically stronger, she points out, and faster.

Okay, yeah, so what? Some people are faster than others. Some are stronger. What do you want, Laura, for everyone to have exactly the same skills and abilities and to be so perfectly matched that every single game ends in a draw? Sports are never fair, someone always has an advantage, that’s what makes it a competition.

And then we get to Laura’s real objection, since her “fairness” argument is obvious bullshit. “It’s just more gender bending,” she says. “This is just going to keep getting worse.”

She then mentions offhand that when she was a teenager, she competed on the girl’s field hockey team in Connecticut, and it all comes together. Of course she did. Of course this asshole was a Connecticut field hockey mean girl. Obviously.

She then concludes her rant by adding that teens shouldn’t even be allowed to be trans because “most people don’t develop their understanding of their own, you know, sexuality until frankly later in life.” Laura, for the umpteenth time — gender and sexuality are not the same thing. Get it together, please.

And regardless, when we were in high school, the girl’s field hockey team was so slutty its locker room practically had a Planned Parenthood, so maybe just calm down about other people’s sexuality.

‘Real O’Neals’ Star Noah Galvin Apologizes to Bryan Singer, Colton Haynes: ‘I Am New To This’

‘Real O’Neals’ Star Noah Galvin Apologizes to Bryan Singer, Colton Haynes: ‘I Am New To This’

noah galvin

Actor Noah Galvin has apologized for remarks he made in an interview published Thursday about Colton Haynes’ coming out, ‘Bryan Singers’ parties’, and Eric Stonestreet’s so-called ‘minstrelsy’ on Modern Family.

Said Galvin,

“The entire interview I gave to Vulture has hurt the LGBTQ community and the industry I feel truly fortunate to be a part of. My only intention was to try and empower and promote honesty, but I fully understand that comments I made were brazen and hurtful.”

He added,

“To Colton Haynes and to the LGBTQ youth, especially those who have embraced our show, I have no right to dictate how or when anybody comes out of the closet; I know how difficult and scary the process of coming out can be, and the last thing I would ever want to do is make it scarier. For anyone,” he continued. “Lastly, as I said in the interview, I think Eric Stonestreet is a wonderful actor. I apologize to everyone that I’ve hurt with my comments and understand the damage that has been done. I am new to this and will certainly commit to being more thoughtful and wiser as I navigate all of this moving forward.”

Galvin shared his apology on Twitter (part 1 and 2), which you can read below.

4th Circuit Denies Request for Stay of Transgender Bathroom Ruling – VIDEO

4th Circuit Denies Request for Stay of Transgender Bathroom Ruling – VIDEO

grimm

The U.S. 4th Circuit Court of Appeals has denied a request from a Virginia school board to stay its decision ruling that transgender students must be allowed to use bathrooms in accordance with their gender identity.

Earlier in the week, the 4th Circuit granted a customary but temporary stay of its ruling while it considered the request for a stay.

The school board now says it will appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.

WAVY reports:

The full appeals court last week refused to reconsider the 2-1 panel decision in favor of 16-year-old Grimm.

Earlier this week, the school board says they planned on filing a petition with the U.S. Supreme Court asking for a review of the federal appeals court decision. While the Supreme Court decided whether or not to take the case, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals was expected to hold off on their final ruling.

However, the federal appeals court announced their decision Thursday. This means Gavin Grimm can use the men’s restroom right now, even though the school board has signaled its intent to appeal to SCOTUS.

Watch a news report from WAVY, below.

Elizabeth Warren Will Endorse Hillary Clinton in Interview with Rachel Maddow

Elizabeth Warren Will Endorse Hillary Clinton in Interview with Rachel Maddow

Elizabeth Warren

Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren will endorse former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for president in an interview with Rachel Maddow on Thursday night.

Warren will make the announcement during Maddow’s show which airs at 9 PM EST.

NBC News reports:

Warren’s announcement comes the same day President Barack Obama formally backed Clinton in a video lauding her qualifications for the job.

Both lawmakers had remained neutral throughout the sometimes bitter primary race between Sanders and Clinton, although the president was long thought to favor his former secretary of state. But Warren, who has made banking reform the centerpiece of her political career, was actively recruited as a potential Democratic primary challenger to Clinton.

Vice President Joe Biden also discussed with Warren the possibility of choosing her as his vice presidential pick when he was mulling whether to enter the race last year.

Reuters has more on the chances of Warren joining Clinton on the ticket:

While her thinking could evolve, Warren has concerns about joining a Clinton ticket, including the question of whether running two women would give the Democrats the best shot at defeating Republican Donald Trump, one source said.

Advisers to Warren, a fiery critic of Wall Street and a popular figure among progressive Democrats, have been in close contact with Clinton’s campaign team and the conversations have increased in frequency in recent weeks, the sources said. Warren has signaled to people close to her that she is intrigued by the possibility of being Clinton’s No. 2 but has not discussed the role with Clinton, 68, or anyone else from her campaign, the people said.

Man Begs Doctors To Euthanize Him To End His Struggle With His Seuxality

Man Begs Doctors To Euthanize Him To End His Struggle With His Seuxality

euthanasia

We’re really not quite sure what to think or say about this one.

A gay man in Belgium says, despite enduring 17 years of therapy and countless medications, he simply cannot accept his sexuality. So he’s pleading with doctors to end his life with euthanasia on the grounds of “extreme psychological suffering.”

39-year-old Sébastien was raised Catholic and has struggled his same-sex attraction since childhood, resulting in him feeling “extremely lonely, extremely withdrawn, very inhibited physically–scared to go out, scared of being seen, all the time scared, hugely shy.”

“Growing up, I met a boy and I fell crazy in love,” he tells the BBC. “We were both 15. And it was just unbearable for me, you know? I didn’t want to be gay.”

Human euthanasia was first legalized in Belgium in 2002. While the vast majority of cases involve elderly people suffering from terminal illnesses, occasionally it is used for adults battling extreme psychiatric disorders. Sébastien hopes to be one of those cases.

“The moment when they put the drip in my arm–I’m not worried about that,” he says, “For me, it’s just a kind of anaesthesia.”

In Belgium, being euthanized requires more than merely scheduling an appointment with your doctor, however. In psychiatric cases such as Sébastien’s, patients must prove they are legally competent and conscious and that their suffering is “incurable, constant and unbearable” then find three doctors to sign off on the procedure.

Gilles Genicot, lecturer in medical law at the University of Liege and member of the euthanasia review committee, says he is not yet sure if Sébastien’s case fulfills the legal criteria for euthanasia.

“It’s more likely he has psychological problems relating to his sexuality,” he says.

To qualify for euthanasia, he adds, Sébastien still must demonstrate that “every reasonable treatment has been tried unsuccessfully and three doctors come to the conclusion that no other option remains.”

Nevertheless, Sébastien is determined to die.

“I have always thought about death,” he says. “Looking back on my earliest memories, it’s always been in my thoughts. It’s a permanent suffering, like being a prisoner in my own body.”

He continues: “A constant sense of shame, feeling tired, being attracted to people you shouldn’t be attracted to–as though everything were the opposite of what I would have wanted.”

When asked if there is any way he might reconsider he decision, he is unsure.

“If someone could give me some kind of miracle cure, why not?” he says. “But for now, I really don’t believe it any more. And I’m too exhausted also, whatever may be out there.”
