Revealing Photos Show “Broad City’s” Paul Downs Has Been Doing His Squats

PaulWDowns14

On the hit stoner-millennial-scripture that is Comedy Central’s Broad City, Paul W. Downs plays Trey, that guy we all know who just doesn’t quite “get it.”

Sure, he’s sweet and all, but all those dad jokes end up amounting to quite the eye roll.

Oh, are we being dicks? Yeah, probably — and so was Abbi when she totally messed up her date with him.

But one thing we can all agree on — he’s super hot. Hot in that “we bet you know know your way around a gym like you know your way around the Marvel Universe” sort of way.

Paul is also on a show called The Characters, and one of those characters recently had no clothes on. Those squats are paying off.

Is Sexting Cheating? Survey Says… It’s Complicated.

Is Sexting Cheating? Survey Says… It’s Complicated.

Is sexting cheating? That’s what researchers in the U.K. wanted to know.

In an online survey, 2,150 men and women were asked about their thoughts on sending sexually-charged text messages and dirty pictures of themselves to people other than their partners, and whether they considered it a form of cheating.

Related: Fabulous At 71, Martha Stewart Admits To Sexting, One Night Stands, Threesomes

35 percent of respondents said that yes, sexting is tantamount to cheating. Meanwhile, one in 10 say they thought it was “just a bit of fun.” And 62 percent said sending dirty pictures is worse than sending dirty texts.

Eight percent of respondents said they had sexted with someone other than their partner in the last year, and one third of them said the sexting had resulted in them ultimately meeting up and having sex behind their partner’s back.

Rupi Rai, a family solicitor at the law firm Slater & Gordon, who commissioned the study, says more and more clients are seeking divorces after learning of their partners’ sexting ways.

Related: Six Inventions That Changed The Way You Have Sex

“We have seen a rise in number of clients coming to us who think their partner has crossed the line and committed adultery, but not in the traditional sense,” Rai tells the Independent. “What some might consider a harmless bit of fun–like sending flirty messages or explicit pictures–others consider to be detrimental to their relationship and cause as much hurt and upset as physically cheating. The research is real warning to couples about being careful not to cross that line.”

What do you think? Is sexting cheating? Let us know in the poll below.

Bonnaroo Music Festival Blasts Tennessee’s Anti-Gay Therapist Bill

Bonnaroo Music Festival Blasts Tennessee’s Anti-Gay Therapist Bill

bonnaroo

The Bonnaroo Music & Arts festival is denouncing anti-LGBT legislation recently signed into law by Tennessee Governor Bill Hallam.

On Wednesday, Haslam approved a bill that allows counselors and therapists in the state to turn away clients who are LGBT if working with them would violate any “sincerely held principals” they may hold.

Bonnaroo, which happens annually in Manchester, Tennessee during the month of June, took to Twitter to make clear its opposition to the bill. The festival would not, however, go so far as to say they were considering canceling or moving its events due to the bill.

EW reports:

Friday morning, the annual event issued a four-part statement via Twitter. “We are deeply disheartened by the recent anti-LGBT legislation that passed in our home state of Tennessee. #NoHateInMyState,” the note began.

It was followed by a assurances that the festival would go on, continuing with its “Radiate Positivity” mantra. “Despite this setback for equality,” they wrote, “Bonnaroo will continue to be a force for promoting and embracing openness and acceptance. We have forged a strong bond with the TN community and intend to use our voice to champion equal rights for everyone everywhere. We hope that our fans will join us in radiating positivity in the face of this unfortunate ruling.”

Congress Participates in “I Am Jazz” National Day of Action on Capitol Hill

Congress Participates in “I Am Jazz” National Day of Action on Capitol Hill

Yesterday, several members of Congress joined parents, teachers and youth advocates across the nation in support of transgender youth, supporting readings of I Am Jazz, a book by transgender teen and HRC Foundation Youth Ambassador Jazz Jennings.

Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA), a member of the Transgender Equality Task Force, read the book from the floor of the U.S. House.

“Last year, legal threats from the anti-LGBTQ hate group forced the school in Wisconsin to cancel plans to read this book to support a transgender student,” she explained on the floor. “The local community rallied holding a reading at the library that drew more than 600 attendees in support of the student. Now this is a movement, with readings across the country to increase understanding and to show young people that they are welcomed and loved. I’m proud to join these readers today from the House floor.”

Rep. Mike Honda, who has a transgender granddaughter, and Rep. Joe Kennedy also tweeted their support for the National Day of Action.

Today across the country kids are reading #IAmJazz. Thanks @RepSpeier for reading this book in Congress to show support for #trans kids.

— Rep. Mike Honda (@RepMikeHonda) April 28, 2016

#IAmJazz tells story of the love + compassion transgender children deserve. Thx to my friend @RepSpeier for joining those reading it today!

— Rep. Joe Kennedy III (@RepJoeKennedy) April 28, 2016

The national reading effort was sponsored by HRC Foundation’s Welcoming Schools program, the National Education Association (NEA) and the National Coalition Against Censorship (NCAC).

HRC Foundation’s Welcoming Schools is the nation’s premier resource for LGBT-inclusive professional development tools, lessons and resources that help elementary schools across the nation embrace family diversity, prevent bias-based bullying and gender stereotyping, and support transgender and gender-expansive students. HRC’s Welcoming Schools has created this guide to help organizers of “I Am Jazz” reading events build more affirming and supportive spaces for transgender and gender-expansive youth across the country.

Speier, Honda and Kennedy all received a perfect score on HRC’s Congressional Scorecard.

Man Strangles Boyfriend In Hotel Room, Leaves Body Wrapped In Blanket For Maid To Find

Man Strangles Boyfriend In Hotel Room, Leaves Body Wrapped In Blanket For Maid To Find

cory-jamal-robinson-smiling-650

The family of a 22-year-old man who was strangled, wrapped in a blanket and left in a hotel room by his boyfriend say he expressed concern about his boyfriend’s temper just days before his death.

Cory Jamal Robinson (pictured) was originally from Macon but was living in Atlanta when he met 27-year-old Richard Louis Williams. The two had only been dating for a few months when they got into a heated argument at the InTown Suites, an extended stay hotel where the couple was living at the time.

According to court documents, Williams strangled Robinson on January 30, 2015 then left his body on the floor before inviting a friend over and telling him “not to worry about it.” The friend later contacted to police, but not before Williams, who had just finished serving a 37-month prison term for theft, fled the hotel, leaving Robinson’s body for the hotel cleaning staff to find. Police arrested him two months later at an airport hotel where he was hiding.

Last month, Williams was convicted of Robinson’s murder and sentenced to life in prison. Now, his attorneys are asking for a new trial, saying prosecutors didn’t prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. But Robinson’s sister, Courtney Toliver, begs to differ. She says Williams had an ugly temper and that he and Robinson got into several altercations before her brother was murdered.

“They was always arguing,” Toliver testified during a court hearing. “[Cory] was saying that Richard was an aggressive person.”

According to Toliver, Robinson told her he thought Williams had anger management issues after he left him stranded in Atlanta on Christmas Eve.

“I guess they were arguing on Christmas Eve. Richard was supposed to bring Cory home on Christmas Eve, but then Cory called me and said, ‘Hey, we’re coming the next day,’ which was Christmas,” Toliver said. “They had just got into it. And Richard left him stranded. … And I said, you know, are y’all always arguing? What’s going on? Are you scared of him? You know, what’s going on? And he just was like, ‘Well, he’s an aggressive person.’”

Tolvier also said that in the days leading up to her brother’s death, she received a string of disturbing texts from him.

“I think it was like that Thursday, the day before he got killed, might have been January 29, that’s when he texted me. And it was weird,” she said. “The whole text was weird because he was telling me that he loved me and he said that he was ready to come home because everything wasn’t what it seemed to be. And he said that him and Richard was always arguing and he was just ready to home.”

The next day, Robinson was dead.

A judge has not yet ruled on a retrial.

Lady Bunny Riffs On Beyonce’s Activism, Prince As A Gay Icon And Peeing In North Carolina

Lady Bunny Riffs On Beyonce’s Activism, Prince As A Gay Icon And Peeing In North Carolina

Lady-Bunny-Gallery-Main1

There’s only one Lady Bunny (thank God!). The singularly-talented entertainer is currently taking no prisoners with her riotous new show Trans-Jester, performed at New York City’s iconic Stonewall Inn. Due to incredibly popular demand, the show which has received widespread acclaim, Trans-Jester has been extended through May 18. You don’t want to miss this night of comedy and music, which has received unparalleled raves from Bunny’s celeb friends ( the Clintons described it as the “Worst 3-way we ever had!” while Khloe Kardashian exclaimed, “Tall, fat, talentless and loves black cock — she’s perfect!”) Besides, new parodies which re-work selections from Adele, Rent and Bruno Mars to hilarious effect punctuated by zany Laugh-In style zingers, Bunny has widened her ?don’t go there! ? repertoire (trust us, she will always go there) to include some actually insightful social commentary. Bunny took a few minutes out her busy day trolling for hot Latin men praying in church to answer a few pressing questions for Queerty readers.

Queerty: After releasing her visual album Lemonade over the weekend, Beyonce is suddenly hailed as a feminist and political icon. Since a lot of the material focuses on her rocky relationship with Jay Z., what advice would you give her if her man really is the cheater she sings about?

Lady Bunny: Oooh, I really felt Bey’s pain in Lemonade, and I’ve determined that the only way for her to heal is to give me half her fortune. No, Beyonce’s a genius! She’s made us all think she’s done an album about cheating when she actually begins “Formation” with product placement for her husband’s jewelry line. So clever! She’s made us think she’s come out with a new, deeply personal album using the words of a Somalian poet. What skill! She’s made us think she’s a feminist by taking off most of her clothes in most of her performances, which traditional feminists would view as remaining within the confines of the male-dominated entertainment industry which rewards attractive strippers. How novel! She’s sending positive vibes about natural, black features like “negro noses” while sporting blonde wigs and bleached skin. A miraculous accomplishment which defies logic! And now she’s crafted a perception of being a political icon by including images of Hurricane Katrina in her video. I’m glad she shone a light on Black Lives Matter, a current issue. But we’re almost done with Obama’s second term and Katrina happened during the previous president Bush’s term. Eleven years after the disaster in New Orleans, it’s Beyonce to the rescue! I’ve never seen such effective activism, even if it is 11 years late. And now she’s put out two “visual albums.” I don’t watch albums, I listen to them. Do you enjoy a meal which looks appetizing yet doesn’t taste good? We’re talking about a massive pop star with loads of money and access to the top producers and songwriters. Yet, somehow she manages to release music with very few memorable hooks. Beyonce truly is a wonder. When we’re talking more about who Jay-Z cheated on than humming the songs on the album, the focus is taken off good music like her fantastic “Love On Top.”

6bd373d9-d8c9-486a-a3cb-29ee9c30e7ecThe world is mourning Prince since his death last week. There’s been some discussion about whether he was a straight ally. How do you think he really felt about LGBT equality?

Prince certainly played with androgynous looks with his stage persona. He was mysterious, sexy, impish and often feminine. I can’t say whether he did it to be controversial or because felt some affinity to the LGBT community. But Prince was a Jehovah’s Witness and they’re very screwed up. Definitely not welcoming towards gays, as many Christians are not. I actually have Jehovah’s Witnesses in my family who won’t donate blood to their own kids even if it would save their kids’ lives. However, I was a teen when Prince’s first album came out and I wasn’t aware of his antigay religious beliefs known until decades later. So I prefer to focus on the great music he put out before knowing the nasty things he said about our kind. “I Wanna Be Your Lover,” “Sexy Dancer” and “Lady Cab Driver” were my fave Prince jams. And to honor the artist formerly known as alive, I’ve thrown in two new parodies to my show Trans-Jester at Stonewall Inn: (“When Does Cry) When My Ass Cries” and “Raspberry Beret (Raspberry Bidet).”

What do you think will happen to this country if Cruz or Trump is elected president?

We would get into more wars and keep letting the wealthy and corporations continue to not pay their fare share of taxes. Sadly, that’s what we’d also see if Hillary is elected. (They call me Lady Bernie.)  I can’t see Cruz getting elected. I actually didn’t think Trump was seriously running because he actually sells Trump steaks and champagne at his rallies. I thought he was going to pull out and announce some new reality show on how to punk an entire nation’s media. His insane pronouncements against latinos, muslims and women turned our entire media into TMZ and prevented much discussion of what the other candidates were proposing. It’s a shame when our “news” would rather focus on his shocking statements for ratings than actually inform us on other candidates’ actual policies prior to an election.  Do you know the difference between Hillary Clinton‘s and Bernie Sanders’ hearth care or immigration plans? You really have to dig for that kind of policy analysis since pretty much only Trump is discussed on our “news” networks. We really need to work on our education system if people are dumb enough to think “Him rich. Him gonna make me rich. Him gonna run the country like a business.” But as a comedienne, a Trump presidency would be comedy gold. I’d love to see what kind of thong a Slovenian mail order bride would wear to the inaugural ball.

unnamedWhat do you have to say to LGBT people who are supporting Republican presidential candidates?

Well, Republicans raise campaign cash on destroying LGBT rights nationwide. So LGBT Republicans do seem self-hating to me. Why else would they ally themselves with a party which seeks to destroy hard-won gains like same-sex marriage? Either that, or they identify as wealthy more than they do gay, so they’d prefer to paying less taxes to advancing equal rights. In my show, Trans-Jester, I take Caitlyn Jenner to task for this reason. A year ago, everyone was falling all over themselves to support her transition. Now that Cait’s offered to be the “trans ambassador” of Ted Cruz, the most evangelical GOP candidate there is, she’s a laughing stock. I fully support her transition into whatever sex she desires, but I just wish she’d transition out of the GOP party which doesn’t even respect her right to use the bathroom in public. And Glamour names her Woman Of The Year? She ain’t been a woman for a year!

What would you say to someone in N. Carolina who asked for your ID before letting you pee?

Once they saw my age, I think they’d realize that I was wearing diapers. With my new Heavy Flow Depends, I can go pretty much any time or any where I want. I can’t believe that they think someone like me is peeking over stalls in the ladies rooms trying to make sexual advances. I do that in the men’s room, honey! I was actually born in North Carolina and I know my people to be extremely charming — until they get into a voting booth. Eleven of the state legislature’s votes for the infamous “Bathroom Bill” were Democrats, for chrissakes!

Again, nudge, nudge, you can get your tickets here.

HB 2 Repeal Legislation Sent to Committee Which Has Not Held a Meeting in Years

HB 2 Repeal Legislation Sent to Committee Which Has Not Held a Meeting in Years

Tom Apodaca

North Carolina Senate Rules Chairman Tom Apodaca, a Republican who suggested this week that there was little support for legislation to repeal the anti-LGBT “bathroom bill” HB 2, found a way to effectively kill it himself: he sent the bill to a committee which never meets.

RELATED: NC GOP Lawmaker Who Controls Fate of HB 2 Wants to Put It on the Ballot as a Constitutional Amendment: WATCH

The News & Observer reports:

Senate leaders assigned the bill to committees on Thursday. Because of a budget item included, its first stop is the Senate Appropriations Committee. But if it got approval from that panel, its second assigned stop is the Senate Ways and Means Committee – which is something of an inside joke in the Senate.

The three-member Ways and Means Committee hasn’t held a meeting in years. It’s widely known as the graveyard of the Senate – the place where Senate Rules Chairman Tom Apodaca sends legislation that he wants to kill.

So it’s virtually certain that the repeal bill will never make it to the Senate floor for a full vote.

Apodaca suggested this week that he’d like HB 2 to go before voters as a constitutional amendment.

Can’t Attend HRC’s Rally in Mississippi? Here’s Five Other Ways to Get Involved

Can’t Attend HRC’s Rally in Mississippi? Here’s Five Other Ways to Get Involved

This Sunday, HRC will be on the ground in Jackson, Mississippi to rally against the discriminatory anti-LGBT law H.B. 1523. More than 75 major national corporations and businesses have spoken out against the horrific measure, which has opened up a broad loophole allowing almost any individual or organization to use broad justifications to discriminate against LGBTQ Mississippians at work, at school and in their communities. Following Kansas and North Carolina, Mississippi becomes the third state this legislative session to sign into law an explicitly anti-LGBTQ bill.

Join HRC at the Rally to Repeal H.B. 1523 this Sunday, May 1 at 3:30 p.m. CDT. We will march from the Mississippi Capitol to the Governor’s Mansion in order to send a clear and powerful message to Gov. Bryant, Lt. Gov. Reeves and House Speaker Gunn that fair-minded Mississippians support the repeal of this law.

Can’t make the rally? Here are five other ways to get involved:

  1. Send a message to lawmakers in Mississippi to repeal these hateful laws immediately.
  2. Tweet this to show your support and to stand with the LGBTQ community: I stand with @HRC and urge @PhilBryantMS to #RepealHB1523. #NoHateInMyState.
  3. Subscribe to our daily tipsheet for up to the minute information about measures in Mississippi.
  4. Take action on Snapchat with HRC by sending a message to Mississippi lawmakers to repeal HB1523 by visiting hrc.org/Snapchat. Add “WeAreHRC” on Snapchat for live updates.
