Open Question: Should I meet up with this uni acquaintance or not?
I did a 6 month University entrance course this year. I was in a group with some people and I guess got along well with this guy and girl. After the course had ended the guy actually contacted me and said we should catch up some time for coffee. Ever since then he’s asked “what are you doing tonight etc?”. Now his personality is the outgoing, friendly type of personality and I think he genuinely wants to be friends (I almost thought he’s gay). The problem is I’m very shy and quiet person but when I’m around more outgoing people I tend to try and be more talkative so it won’t be so awkward. I worry that if i meet with him the conversation will die out too quickly and he’ll think I’m boring or get wrong impression. It’s partly why I have been dismissing seeing him. I also don’t really like small talk or saying stuff/asking questions just to make up for silence. I know a lot of extroverts do that but I personally find it unnatural.

I feel bad if I don’t follow through with hanging out with him. I am free this weekend and I’m contemplating to let him know, at the same time I’m wondering if I should just let it go? I’m 23 and he’s 20. (I would never date him either).

Open Question: My child came out as transgender. What should I do?
My son came out as gay a few months ago, with which I do not have a problem. After coming out, he began wearing clothing typically worn by girls, sporting leggings, eye liner, nail polish, chopstick, Mickey Mouse ears, etc. I thought this was part of him coming out as gay, but I was wrong.

I grew suspicious of his erratic behavior, so I had a long talk with him. He finally admitted he had been keeping a secret from me – He wants to identify as female instead of male. I am very okay with that, but what if he gets bullied by his peers? I want him to be as happy as he can be, as life is too short to live a lie. However, my son is now going to be increasingly vulnerable to bullying, ridicule, and discrimination. Now that he identifies as female, he is technically straight, right? I know I shouldn’t refer to my transgender child as “he”, but this is new to me.

Open Question: Help with a bully?
Theres this guy at school(Science) and he is the very annoying. He’s always late for class, always cheeky towards the teacher and he always calls people “spastic”, “gay” and “retard”. He always talk back and laughs at the teacher when she is explaining something and its really hard to concentrate. He is also aggresive, get in his way and he start shouting in your face. He constatly pushes me and punches. Is there any good comebacks foe him or what should I say/do?
