Amy Poehler Helps Carrie Brownstein Officiate an Impromptu Gay Wedding: WATCH
Amy Poehler helped her friend Carrie Brownstein officiate an impromptu gay wedding at a stop on Brownstein’s book tour in Pasadena, California.
Brownstein (whom you may recognize from Portlandia) was promoting her memoir, Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl, at the Central Presbyterian Church in Pasadena when two fans asked them if she would marry them. Brownstein agreed and Poehler decided to help out by being the musical accompanist. Via Vulture: “‘All of us here are rooting for you,’ [Brownstein] said. ‘We root for the two of you to make each other feel the biggest, strongest, most special you ever felt.’ And then Amy Poehler played ‘Greensleeves’ on the piano.”
