Disney Star Cast As Brent Corrigan In Retelling Of Gay Adult Film Industry’s Most Notorious Murder

Disney Star Cast As Brent Corrigan In Retelling Of Gay Adult Film Industry’s Most Notorious Murder

kocissuspectsIt’s becoming more and more mainstream for LGBTQ stories to find their way onto the big screen — Milk, critical flub StonewallThe Imitation Game and the upcoming The Danish Girl just to name a few. These films aim to uplift and inspire, shining a light on the great contributions our community has offered the world.

The recently announced Christian Slater/Molly Ringwald film King Cobra, though it also plans to dramatize a piece of gay history, will likely offer no such inspiration.

That’s because it will tell the story of gay porn studio Cobra Video owner Bryan Kocis’ murder by two of his stars, Harlow Cuadra and Joseph Kerekes (pictured above right), in 2007. Naturally, James Franco is involved, taking a producing and acting credit.

Both killers were sentenced to life in prison, and the gruesome details of the story inspired the book Cobra Killer: Gay Porn Murder.

According to the investigating coroner, Kocis was stabbed 28 times and his throat was cut, nearly decapitating him. His body was left in his house before it was set on fire. Officials had to use dental records to identify Kocis because his body was burned beyond recognition.

Kocis’ involvement and subsequent legal battle with a then-underage Brent Corrigan, aka Sean Lockhart, added an unhealthy dose of scandal to the already-insane story.

And now the whole sordid mess is coming to a theater near you! It’s kind of like Brokeback Mountain with few more twists and turns. Except not at all. It’s all fairly horrifying.

Slater has signed on to play Kocis, and Ringwald has been cast as Kocis’ sister.

She recently Tweeted this photo of the onscreen siblinghood:

Playing the part of Corrigan will be Disney Channel star Garrett Clayton, who will bring some twinky fire to the unseemly universe:

‘Looking’ Star Daniel Franzese Defends Danny Pintauro After His HIV Reveal

‘Looking’ Star Daniel Franzese Defends Danny Pintauro After His HIV Reveal

Instagram Photo

Looking actor Daniel Franzese publicly threw his support behind Danny Pintauro after his public reveal of his HIV status and past meth use, slamming Pintauro’s media critics, both straight and LGBT, for hypocritical and insensitive comments.

Franzese wrote a column for Attitude on the media firestorm surrounding Pintauro, lambasting interviewers on their incorrect HIV terminology and invasive personal questions, like questions from Candace Cameron Bure and Raven Symone on The View, and expressed disappointment regarding pious comments made by LGBT media and leaders on how they felt Pintauro should’ve treated the reveal of his HIV status:

“First people jump on The View hosts for shaming Danny, then some LGBT thought leaders direct their feelings of anger and disappointment at Danny himself. My beef is that these leaders write about ending stigma, but instead of writing a private note to Danny offering to advise him, they instead criticize him publicly. Why would anyone with HIV want to come out publicly if that is the consequence?

“Yet LGBT leaders agree that only if more and more people come out publicly with their status will stigma be reduced. Publishing open letters, posting on his Facebook, tweeting about him, blogging—whatever the method, I don’t think any of this is constructive in fighting HIV stigma. Danny is being publicly shamed by some of the people he is trying to be a voice for.

“Daniel Pintauro has committed himself to being a beacon of light in the dark world of meth use, and is willing to speak openly and honestly about his HIV status. For this he should be commended. I urge us all to think before we criticize someone who has good intentions and who gives a voice to an underrepresented community.”

Franzese explained that he met Pintauro back when he was a bouncer at a nightclub and later became casual friends. Pintauro revealed his status to Franzese, an ambassador for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF), before going public; Franzese briefed him on the “GLAAD Playbook,” on publicly discussing HIV and AIDS and planned to connect him with ETAF to receive proper media training and guidance to become an activist.

Franzese notably played the role of Eddie on Lookinga non-profit community worker who is HIV positive, before it was canceled.

WATCH: Mike Huckabee Says He Hasn’t ‘Disparaged’ Gays

WATCH: Mike Huckabee Says He Hasn’t ‘Disparaged’ Gays

Mike Huckabee is up to his usual antics, but this time he’s forgetting all the damage that he’s done with his antigay sentiments by claiming that he’s never “disparaged” LGBT people.

In a recent sit-down interview with CNBC’s John Harwood, the 2016 Republican presidential hopeful talked about his controversial views on Josh Duggar and the entire Duggar family, and how some see him as a hypocrite for defending an alleged child molester while continuing to deny the validity of same-sex marriage.

“I don’t think I have disparaged people John,” Huckabee says when asked. “I feel like I’ve held to a very consistent, biblical standard of marriage.”

In reality, among other homophobic political stunts, earlier this year Huckabee (along with fellow GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum) signed a pledge saying that legal recognition of same-sex marriages “undermines the fundamental rights of children and threatens their security, stability, and future.”

He also has said marriage equality amounts to a “redefinition of love,” likened the Supreme Court marriage equality ruling to the 19th-century Dred Scott decision upholding slavery, said allowing transgender people to serve openly in the military is a social experiment, contended that inviting LGBT people to meet Pope Francis was like inviting alcoholics to an open bar, and said he wished he could have pretended to be transgender as a teenager so he could shower with female students. Further, he’s been a key defender of Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis, who has refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Watch Huckabee forget his antigay past in the CNBC interview below.

Gabby Giffords: 'Too Many Women Are Dying From Gun Violence'

Gabby Giffords: 'Too Many Women Are Dying From Gun Violence'

Gabby Giffords just explained why gun control is undoubtedly a women’s issue.

On Oct. 14, the former congresswoman hosted a “Domestic Violence Awareness Summit” in Washington, D.C. The day-long event was part of her recent initiative to fight gun violence against women and families called “The Women’s Coalition for Common Sense.”

During the summit, Giffords explained why gun control is most definitely a women’s issue. “We have a problem in our country. Too many women are dying from gun violence,” Giffords said in her speech in the video above. “Guns and domestic violence are a deadly mix.”

As a survivor of a 2011 shooting in Tucson, Arizona, Gabby Giffords knows all too well the horrifying consequences of gun violence.

“We don’t agree about everything, but we can agree on this: Dangerous people with guns are a threat to women. Criminals with guns. Abusers with guns. Stalkers with guns. That makes gun violence a women’s issue. For mothers, for families, for me and you,” Giffords said.

As she has reiterated time and time again, over the past year and a half, guns need to be kept out of the hands of domestic abusers.

According to the National Domestic Violence Hotline, American women are around 11 times more likely to be killed by a gun than women in other developed countries. Other statistics from the NDVH show that when a gun is present in a situation of domestic violence, the chances of a woman being murdered increases by 500 percent.

Open Question: Can the LGBT community change its image from that of death and degeneracy to one of ethical productivity?

Open Question: Can the LGBT community change its image from that of death and degeneracy to one of ethical productivity?
The homosexual community is known for AIDs and other sexual infections, materialism and hedonism, inability to form a properly reproductive family unit, promiscuous sex, assimilation into oppressive socialist establishments which accept queer theory, weakness and femininity, an unusually prominent interest in masochistic sexual tendencies, as well as an (outwardly) non-sexual sort of masochistic embrace of communities which seek to annihilate homosexuals such as the Muslim community. Currently the LGBT community has been embraced by larger society, because the society itself is in a process of slow decline, as we drift towards nihilistic moral decay and economic collapse, But is there any way to make gay rights a lasting value in the eyes of people who value progress over degeneracy, or is the LGBT community doomed to be forever the symbol of misery and death? Since someone brought it up, I thought I should add that I am a homosexual, as are most of my friends. These observations come from somebody who is deeply aware of LBGT culture and has vested interests in improving our image.

Even Westboro Baptist Church Thinks Kim Davis Is A Fool, Pickets Her Office

Even Westboro Baptist Church Thinks Kim Davis Is A Fool, Pickets Her Office

Screen-Shot-2015-10-19-at-1.13.11-PM-500x259As planned, members of the Westboro Baptist Church picketed Kim Davis’ office, huddling outside the Rowan County Clerk’s office for approximately half an hour today.

While you’d assume Westboro and Davis would be allies — they’re at least united in their virulently antigay stances — the Church decided to take aim at Davis’ prolific marital history and claim she’s “living in sin.”

According to a statement by the group: “Kim claims that she has lived in proud sin for many years, divorcing and remarrying, not one time or two times — in fact, you need a score card to keep track.”

— ABC 36 News (@ABC36News) October 19, 2015

Standing on the lawn, members of Westboro wielded signage with clever slogans like “Christians’ caused f*g marriage,” “Divorce + marriage = adultery,” “Divorce remarriage & same-sex ‘marriage’ are all sin,” and “God hates fa* enablers.”

A statement from the Church reads:

If Kim Davis received mercy from God and grace, as she claims, she would, with all due haste put her sin away. She would mourn for her sins, and in a show of great mercy, she would be busy apologising to the fags for enabling them, and she would, with all diligence, give those perverts a marriage license. Kim Davis has decided that her adultery is less sin, than the sin of the sodomites.
