Josh Duggar Is “Missing” From Sex Rehab!

Screen shot 2015-09-02 at 11.38.15 AMLess than a week after voluntarily checking himself into a “treatment center” to deal with his sex addiction, antigay activist and admitted child molester Josh Duggar has allegedly bailed on the program. Or else he never actually showed up. Nobody’s really sure.

According to his family, Josh checked into the Christian rehabilitation center Reformers Unanimous in Rockford, IL last week to deal with his uncontrollable sexual urges. Now, Radar Online is reporting the 27-year-old antigay activist has up and vanished.

Josh hasn’t attended any of the mandatory prayer meetings or church services.

“Josh definitely wasn’t there,” an inside source told Radar Online. “It was very strange.”

Raw Story added: “Not a soul in Rockford, Illinois has actually spotted Josh Duggar among the individuals receiving treatment at RU.”

“He hasn’t been seen coming or going from any of the mandatory church services at North Love Baptist Church. This is especially odd considering the rules at Reformers Unanimous posted on their website claim it would be a mandatory part of everyone’s recovery process at RU.”

In fact, there have been “absolutely no sightings” of Josh anywhere in the Rockford metro area, which begs the question: Where the hell is he?!

If you have any information about Josh’s whereabouts, please give us a [email protected].

Gay Christian Athlete Schools Kim Davis: Religious Freedom Isn’t a License to Discriminate – VIDEO

Gay Christian Athlete Schools Kim Davis: Religious Freedom Isn’t a License to Discriminate – VIDEO

sanders

Out gay Christian athlete Josh Sanders takes Kentucky clerk Kim Davis to task in a new video posted to YouTube on Tuesday.

Said Sanders of Davis’ refusal to comply with the Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage,

“The reality is this is discrimination. This is Kim discriminating against people like me because she doesn’t believe in my freedom to marry the man that I love.”

Sanders also tackled head on the question of so-called ‘religious liberty’ which has already been earmarked as the next major civil rights battle for the LGBT community. Though Sanders believes that religious liberties and religious freedom are important, he says, “Religious freedom should never be used as a license to discriminate.” So what exactly is religious freedom? In Sanders’ view, “religious freedom is the freedom to believe what I believe, to have a moral code, to believe in a higher power, and to be able to guide my life that way if it doesn’t discriminate against another person’s experience.” The key being that it cannot “devalue someone else” or “take away the rights of another person”, which Sanders says, is exactly “what Kim is doing in Kentucky right now.”

Sanders closed his video by stating, “We should have religious liberties. But never ever should our religious liberties take away the rights of a minority, or take away the rights of someone we disagree with.”

Kim Davis needs to be immediately removed from her position as a public official. “Religious freedom” isn’t an excuse to discriminate.

— Josh Bryan Sanders (@joshbsanders) September 1, 2015

Sanders has become known for speaking out on LGBT issues ever since he came out back in 2013. Earlier this year, he started a change.org petition calling on TLC to cancel its Mormon reality series My Husband’s Not Gay that Sanders described as “presenting victims’ lives as entertainment, while sending the message that being gay is something that can and ought to be changed.” Sanders knows something about the danger of thinking that someone’s sexuality, as he put it, can or ought to be changed. Sanders went through conversion therapy for six month and ever since coming out has become a passionate advocate for ending the harmful practice.

Watch Sanders prove that being a person of faith and being a bigot aren’t mutually exclusive, below:

Why I'm Increasingly Frustrated With Closeted Pro Athletes

Why I'm Increasingly Frustrated With Closeted Pro Athletes
Yes, everyone chooses their own path to coming out. I’m not talking about outing people. And yes, coming out is a personal journey that affects people closest to you. I totally understand. Yet these few simple words from this weekend having been ringing in my ears for the last 48 hours:

“This is the power of sports.”

Sitting in the back office of the home of Andrew Goldstein and his husband, Jamie, Sunday afternoon, those first words introducing ESPN’s 11-minute feature on The Courage Game brought an overwhelming swell of emotion in me. I knew the story that was coming, though I didn’t know exactly how ESPN would tell it (though with Greg Garber and his team in the mix, I had an inkling). Yet that simple reminder about what we were going to watch — the power of sports — hit me hard.

The story of Goldstein, a former professional lacrosse player, and Braeden Lange, a 12-year-old lacrosse player, isn’t just about the struggles of a kid facing torment in his school. It’s not just about a retired professional athlete rekindling his relationship with his sport.

At its core, the story of the Courage Game — a lacrosse game to support LGBT inclusion — and the unlikely friendship of these two people is about the cultural responsibility of people in sports to help people and to change lives. Watching the ESPN piece with Goldstein and his family brought me more present with the power of someone like Goldstein to help other people.

It also made me more frustrated than ever with the professional athletes — both current and former — who refuse to come out and join Goldstein in the push to save kids’ lives, athletes who refuse to harness the power of sports to make sure no LGBT athlete ever experiences “dark” thoughts ever again.

I get it. Coming out can be scary. Agents and teammates and confidants will tell them not to do it. In professional sports we have the incredibly successful story of Robbie Rogers and the concerning results of Michael Sam coming out — on the one hand, it’s a mixed bag of reactions at the professional level.

We focus so heavily on the possible negative repercussions of pro athletes coming out. Losing a spot on a team. Loss of endorsement deals. Fans might pull back. Teammates may isolate them. Virtually all of it has been proven false by Rogers, Sam and others like Jason Collins, Brittney Griner and Megan Rapinoe. Yet the “scary repercussions of coming out in pro sports” is still the regular drumbeat of members of the media, athletes and fans.

The inner circles of these gay pro athletes will tell them, “There’s too much risk.”

The Courage Game shows us the incredible reward.

The “Courage Game” was so aptly named because of the fear we direct at LGBT athletes. Courage is, by definition, acting in the face of fear, not fearlessness. When I do media interviews so many of the questions are about the “struggles” of coming out, the possible locker room pitfalls, the potential for negative reaction from teammates and fans. I virtually never get questions about the possible benefits of coming out — increased self-esteem, a vibrant community waiting to embrace them, potential financial opportunities.

The ability to help other LGBT athletes — to yes, actually save people’s lives — is the most powerful opportunity of all.

While education and policy are important to building support for these kids struggling with their identities, nothing replaces the visibility of other athletes coming out in shifting their mental well-being and building their courage. Nothing.

Virtually every gay male pro athlete — and many women in college and the pros — frankly doesn’t value their role in that as much as they should. Yes, I said it — they should. They’re more interested in living in the shadows of fear and protecting their own self-interests, than taking the leap to help kids like Braden find acceptance and love. It’s always their choice to come out or not, but their choice is still building increasing frustration in me.

Thankfully Goldstein chose a different path 11 years ago. At the highest level of college lacrosse he came out publicly before the 2015 Major League Lacrosse Draft, in which he was selected 29th (and last) overall by the Boston Cannons. He played two seasons in MLL with two different teams before opting for medical school in Los Angeles.

“I would hope that some 14-, 15-year-old, who like me goes home every night like I used to do and cries and worries about what’s going to happen,” Goldstein told ESPN in 2005, “I hope he would see it and say, ‘oh, there is hope, there’s a life I can live and be myself.”

A decade later, Lange found Goldstein’s inspiration and stopped considering suicide.

“I was that 14- or 15-year-old kid, except I’m 12,” Lange said. “And it really gave me a lot of hope knowing I could just live my life being myself.”

The love in the room at Goldstein’s house Sunday afternoon was palpable. Parents, friends and family had gathered to experience The Courage Game and pass around a couple tissue boxes. After the spot we talked about everyone’s growing disappointment that more professional athletes — particularly on the men’s side — don’t come out.

“At least we have Andrew and Braeden,” someone said.

A pro-sports prospect with everything to lose and a 12-year-old kid.

That’s a pretty damn good start for a game about courage.

Luxembourg’s gay PM called on to bring up gay rights with Putin during Russia visit

Luxembourg’s gay PM called on to bring up gay rights with Putin during Russia visit

Luxembourg’s openly gay Prime Minister Xavier Bettel is being called on to discuss gay rights when he meets with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin in the next few weeks.

This will be a big meeting between the world’s only openly gay political leader and the president of a country that prides itself on banning ‘gay propaganda’.

In a press conference today (2 September), Bettel said he would be visiting Moscow to meet with Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, and he will also visit Ukraine.

He said he also planned to discuss the Ukrainian and Syrian crises, immigration and terrorism.

The meeting is being carried out as Luxembourg currently holds presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Human rights activists have encouraged Bettel to bring up LGBTI rights.

Speaking to Gay Star News, a spokesperson for International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex – Europe advocacy group said:

‘We encourage all European and international leaders to address the issue of human rights in Russia, and in particular, the very sad situation with LGBTI rights.

‘We would definitely welcome [Bettel] to raise the issues of LGBTI rights with Putin. For the last few years, Russia has disregarded all calls from human rights organizations and kept their homophobic policies.

‘It is important that everyone who believes in equality keeps up the united front, so if Bettel can bring it up, that would most certainly be welcome.’

Kim Davis Was Pregnant By Her Third Husband While Still Married To Her First

Kim Davis Was Pregnant By Her Third Husband While Still Married To Her First

Kim-Davis-marriage-licenseWell, well, well. It looks as though Kentucky clerk Kim Davis, who has been busy invoking “God’s authority” to illegally deny marriage licenses to same-sex couples, may have a few sinful skeletons in her closet. Four, to be exact.

U.S. News has obtained court records which indicate that Davis has been divorced not one, not two, but three separate times. The first time was in 1994, the second in 2006, and the third in 2008. She’s currently on husband #4, but she insists he’s “the one.”

Related: County Clerk Kim Davis Says This Isn’t “A Gay Or Lesbian Issue,” It’s About “Heaven or Hell”

But wait! There’s more. Lots more.

Davis gave birth to twins five months after divorcing her first husband. They were fathered by her third husband, but adopted by her second.

Are you following?

Let’s break that down real quick: Basically, Kim cheated on her first Husband #1 with her Future Husband #3, got pregnant by #3, divorced #1, then married Husband #2, who adopted #3’s twins.

Related: Kim Davis’ Current Husband Says His Wife Is Just “Standing For God,” Compares Her To Biblical Figures

As of this morning, Davis has yet to respond to this latest revelation from her sordid past, but her supporters say they couldn’t care less.

Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel says Davis’ marriage and childbearing history is “not really relevant” to her illegally denying marriage licenses to same-sex couples on religious grounds. He claims her multiple marriages are “something that happened in her past” and that when she converted to Christianity four years ago “her slate was wiped clean.”

“She was 180 degrees changed,” he said.

Davis’ colleague, Casey Davis, who is not related to Kim Davis, says there’s a huge difference between getting a divorce four times and being in a same-sex relationship.

“I don’t have any problem with that whatever, how she was before,” he told U.S. News. “If the Lord can forgive her, surely I can. That’s something that’s forgivable just like any other sin, but if you continue in it and live in it, there’s a grave danger in that.”

Blatantly defying the United States Constitution, on the other hand, is totally not dangerous at all.

Gay Couple Denied Marriage License Four Times by Kim Davis Speaks Out: WATCH

David Ermold David Moore

David Ermold and David Moore, the gay couple denied a marriage license four times by Rowan County, Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis, appeared on The Last Word with Alex Wagner.

Moore was asked to respond to Liberty Counsel attorney Mat Staver’s comments on Hardball that Davis’s ‘religious freedom’ is not being accommodated.

READ all of Towleroad’s Kim Davis coverage HERE.

Said Moore:

“I think that what Kim Davis wants is to be a martyr. I think that it makes me feel terrible that we would accommodate someone so that they can discriminate against a minority group or a specific group of people. I feel like that’s what they’re asking for is an accommodation to discriminate.”

Wagner also asked Ermold whether they’ll go back for a fifth try.

Said Ermold:

“I don’t know that I could handle another rejection to be honest with you. It seems to be getting worse and it’s escalating over time. After the rejection today I spoke with our lawyers on the phone and I don’t see a need to go back. The next time that we go back I really want it to be that we’re getting our marriage license. I was so disappointed today. I thought that we were going to walk out of there and we were going to be holding that license high up in the air, and we were going to be saying ‘we’re getting married.’ And that is not what occurred today. And it’s just overwhelming. It’s overwhelming.”

Watch:

Supporters for and against Davis assembled outside the Rowan County clerk’s office yesterday morning and the police were called to disperse the crowds. A crowd of people made it inside Davis’s office and began chanting at the bigoted clerk, “Do your job.” The chant inspired an internet meme and Davis began trending on Twitter.

Davis was soon the lead headline on every news site across the country.

Davis told Ermold and Moore that she was willing to accept the consequences for defying the Supreme Court and declared that ‘you all’ (e.g., gays) must also be willing to face ‘the consequences’:

“I’m willing to face my consequences as you all will face your consequences when it comes time for judgment.”

A motion to hold Davis in contempt of court was filed by two gay couples and a U.S. District Judge set a hearing for tomorrow at 11 am. Read the filing here.

Davis released a statement that the question of allowing same-sex marriage “is a Heaven or Hell decision” that centers on her “religious freedom”.

Read her statement HERE.

Meanwhile, several of the Republican candidates for president have weighed in on the issue. Rand Paul said that states should get out of the marriage business altogether and Davis’s protest was “part of the American way.” Carly Fiorina said that it was “not appropriate.” Lindsey Graham said that Davis should “comply with the law or resign.”

A Woman In A Wheelchair Answers Questions About Her Sex Life

A Woman In A Wheelchair Answers Questions About Her Sex Life

Santina Muha is here to remind you that, yes, disabled people do have sex.

In a new video for BuzzFeed, the comedian and writer answers questions about what love, dating and sex is like for a person in a wheelchair. “How do you have sex?” is a question that Muha gets a lot. But take it from her — it’s really not that different from sex with an able-bodied person.

“Everybody wants to know ‘How do you have sex when you’re in a wheelchair?'” Muha says. “I don’t understand why this question is so popular because how do you have sex? I mean, do you guys walk around while you have sex?” she asks.

“It’s like I get on a bed, typically and I you know..” Muha says. That’s about it.

She also answers questions about the logistics of her dating life, like are there advantages to dating in a wheelchair and are blind dates more awkward for her.

When asked if her wheelchair ever “ruins the romance” of a relationship, Muha says she  thinks her wheelchair got in the middle of a relationship once.

“I dated a guy one time and he lived with me, and the wheelchair I think kind of did contribute to our demise because he was helping me so much around the house that it almost started to feel like he worked for me,” she says. “But I have other friends in wheelchairs who their boyfriends are helping them with personal stuff and it works out great.”

Muha points out that dating is always going to be tricky whether you’re in a wheelchair or not. “So if you are in a wheelchair don’t give up if you’re not dating someone. You can totally do it,” she says. “And if you’re attracted to somebody in a wheelchair but you’re not sure if you can date the person I say give it a try.”

Actor Darryl Stephens Talks Being Closeted In Hollywood And The Stonewall Controversy

Actor Darryl Stephens Talks Being Closeted In Hollywood And The Stonewall Controversy

DSIt’s hard to believe that a gay actor on a gay TV series broadcast on a gay cable network would have to remain in the closet, but that’s exactly what Darryl Stephens felt he had to do for the two seasons Noah’s Arc was on the air. Stephens recently published a memoir titled Required Reading: How To Get Your Life For Good, that chronicles his experiences as an openly gay black actor in Hollywood. His time on the hit Logo TV series, as well as other stories about typecasting, self-loathing and acceptance, is detailed in the revealing book.

In an interview with Salon, Stephens discussed how he and his fellow Noah’s Arc cast members handled the press at the time. When asked about the agreement not to disclose sexual orientation with the media, Stephens explained, “When we made Noah’s Arc, every interviewer was asking: Are the actors gay or straight? Now, with Jack Falahee on How to Get Away with Murder, we know straight and gay actors can play straight or gay characters. It’s less an issue for the press.” He went on to reflect, “The culture is changing a lot, and you are seeing 12-13 year-olds coming out. There is no way I could have come out when I was that age.”

Throughout his experiences in the entertainment industry, Stephens found out fairly quickly that “everyone has an idea of what we should look like,” and learned to have a thick skin about the portrayal of black gay men in Tinseltown. This has helped shape his perspective on respectability politics. During the initial debates about Jeffrey Tambor, a straight male actor, playing a trans woman in the hit Amazon series Transparent, Darryl found himself thrown into the fray of the online discussions when he was tagged in a Facebook post by an activist.

nagroup_boxer72_5“Whatever part of the movement we are engaged in right now, we need to be sensitive to their experience, even if it’s the rich Republican who can afford all this plastic surgery. It’s important not to negate the things we don’t understand because we don’t understand them.” Stephens synopsized, “Ultimately, what I think was problematic with that activist including me on that Facebook post, is that while I’m not trans, I have trans friends, and I have done the work to try to understand that experience.”

The backlash Roland Emmerich is experiencing over his film Stonewall was also touched upon during Stephens’ interview. Seeing both sides of the coin, the actor-writer stated, “A white man imagined a story of a white kid who experienced this moment in history. Why is it always through the gaze of a white man? But we can only represent that which we can see and what we experience.”

Stephens emphasized the need for queer people of color to keep telling their stories.

“It’s the importance of all of us sharing our stories. If the black trans person doesn’t tell their story, who will? It’s hard for Roland Emmerich to tell a black, trans story if he doesn’t know anyone to illuminate the details of that. It’s more about storytellers of color and transgender and female and overweight and differently-abled folks telling their individual stories so they can share in that knowledge. It boils down to the legacy we each want to leave.”

Carly Fiorina: Kim Davis’ Defiance of SCOTUS Gay Marriage Ruling ‘Not Appropriate’ – LISTEN

Carly Fiorina: Kim Davis’ Defiance of SCOTUS Gay Marriage Ruling ‘Not Appropriate’ – LISTEN

Carly Fiorina

Republican Presidential hopeful and former HP CEO Carly Fiorina has called Kentucky clerk Kim Davis’ defiance of the Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage “not appropriate.”

Speaking yesterday with radio talkshow host Hugh Hewitt, Fiorina also stressed that, in her eyes, “it’s clear religious liberty is under assault in many, many ways.” However, Fiorina notably did not label Davis’ case as one in which so-called ‘religious liberty’ is under attack. Rather, Fiorina suggested that Davis, in her role as county clerk for Rowan County, is a “arm of the government” and must adhere to the government’s “will” or else resign.

Via The Washington Blade

“When you are a government employee, I think you take on a different role,” Fiorina continued. “When you are a government employee as opposed to say, an employee of another kind of organization, then in essence, you are agreeing to act as an arm of the government.”

“And, while I disagree with this court’s decision, their actions are clear,” Fiorina said. “And so I think in this particular case, this woman now needs to make a decision of conscience — is she prepared to continue to work for the government, be paid for by the government in which case she needs to execute the government’s will, or does she feel so strongly about this that she wants to sever her employment with the government and go seek employment elsewhere where her religious liberties will be paramount over her duties as as government employee?”

“Given the role that she’s playing, given the fact that the government is paying her salary, I think that is not appropriate,” Fiorina said. “Now that’s my personal opinion. Others may disagree with that, but I think it’s a very different situation for her than someone in a hospital who’s asked to perform an abortion or someone at a florist who’s asked to serve a gay wedding. I think when you’re a government employee, you are put into a different position honestly.”
