REVIEW: Five Guys – Covent Garden, London

Five Guys is a big American burger chain, and their Covent Garden flagship outlet in London is always busy.

This is an attractive restaurant and their ordering, payment, and pick-up service works smoothly.

They do really good fries but I find their burgers a little bland and dry.

Not a bad option but there are better burgers out there.

Ex-Con Posts Fake M4M Craigslist Ad To Get Revenge On FBI Agent

Hell hath no fury like an ex-con scorned.

47-year-old Frederick Banks had a bone to pick with the FBI agent who busted him more than a decade ago. So he did what any upset, tech-saavy ex-con out for revenge would do: He posted a fake M4M Craigslist ad looking gay sex then included the agent’s home phone number and address.

The agent’s named is not being released. Court documents identify him only by his initials, T.P., and indicate that he lives in Tampa, FL. 12 years ago, he investigated Banks on two different cases — a 2003 charge for selling fake and pirated software, and a 2004 charge of writing bad checks. Banks was convicted and spent about 10 years behind bars.

Apparently, he spent that entire decade stewing because the fake ad was allegedly posted on June 25, less than a month after Banks completed his final term of federal probation. It identified the T.P. as a “married white boy” seeking a male sex partner for himself and his wife, who he describes as a “blonde gorgeous girl next door type.”

“All races welcome can play anytime,” the ad said.

As a result, T.P. claims to have received two phone calls in response.

It didn’t take the FBI long to track the fake ad back to Banks, who was living in Pittsburgh. He has been charged with stalking and harassing an FBI agent.

This week, U.S. Magistrate Judge Keith Pesto ordered he be jailed until trial.

“I find defendant is a serious threat to the safety of T.P., and family, and potentially others with whom the defendant has legal disputes,” Pesto wrote.

Neither Banks nor his attorney have released comment.

BBC Host Criticized for Joking Tinder Lets Straight People ‘Behave Like Gay Men’ – VIDEO

Reporting on a Twitter spat between Tinder and a Vanity Fair journalist who wrote a story criticizing the dating app, BBC Newsnight host Evan Davis (who is openly gay) decided to use an analogy that didn’t go over well with some on Twitter.

“For the uninitiated, Tinder is the biggest of a number of apps that allow straight people of any gender to behave like gay men. It’s an easy hook-up service…”

While in Vietnam, Ruth Bader Ginsburg officiates over renewal vows of gay US ambassador

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg presided over a renewal of wedding vows by the US ambassador to Vietnam and his husband last weekend.

Ginsburg was on a trip to Vietnam sponsored by a program of the US State Department and met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court Truong Hoa Binh, among others.

She was invited to stay at the official residence in Hanoi of Ambassador Ted Osius and husband Clayton Bond. Osius said it was a colleague’s idea to ask Ginsburg to officiate a renewal of vows for the couple who were first married in 2006 in Canada.

‘We thought it might be meaningful not only to us, but to the LGBT community in Vietnam,’ Osius told the Washington Blade.

‘She is one of the most extraordinary people we have ever met,’ he added.

The ceremony took place on 8 August with several young Vietnamese LGBTI rights advocates in attendance.

Ginsburg has presided over same-sex marriage ceremonies in the past, the first US Supreme Court justice to ever do so.

She was part of a landmark 5-4 decision by the Supreme Court on 26 June that made same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states. Two years earlier, she had also voted to strike down the Defense of Marriage Act and to allow same-sex marriages to resume in California.

Texas Gay-Rights Fight Pits Glenn Beck Against ‘Trans Queers For Satan’

Last week we told you how a heroic lesbian student convinced her school district near Fort Worth to take up LGBT protections after administrators put the kibosh on her adorable “promposal” to another girl.

The Keller school board is scheduled to vote tonight on a proposal, initiated by Timber Creek High School student Casey Akers, that would add sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression to the district’s nondiscrimination and anti-bullying policies covering students, faculty and staff.

As we’ve mentioned, the proposal has met with fierce opposition in the conservative suburb. And now, anti-gay Fox News host Glenn Beck, who happens to live in Keller, has joined the fight:

Also opposing LGBT protections is the radical Northeast Tarrant Tea Party, led by Julie McCarty and her husband Fred. And on Wednesday, Fred McCarty alleged that their post about tonight’s meeting was spammed by people affiliated with the “Revolutionary Alliance of Trans People Against Capitalism” and “Trans Queers For Satan”:
