Here’s A Carload Of Adult Film Stars Singing Along To Katy Perry

You know how it goes after a long day at work. You and your buddies are driving around trying to unwind and Cobra Starship’s cover of “I Kissed a Girl” (only with the gender-switcheroo title “I Kissed a Boy”) starts playing. What can three fellas do but start lip-syncing along and have some fun? Jasun Mark, a director for adult film company TitanMen posted about his latest impromptu video shoot:

“Jesse Jackman and Dirk Caber were in shooting with us at Titanmen. It was a very long, grueling and exhausting week but typical to Titanmen, we never stopped laughing and smiling and having fun while we shot some really great stuff. This was shot literally the last thing we did that week. When we got back to the house, I dropped them off and headed to my own place in Vista Las Palmas for a weekend of heavy relaxing with a bunch of friends.”

Enjoy the karaoke below.

Swiss Catholic Bishop May Face 3 Years In Prison For Anti-Gay Hate Speech

Swiss Catholic Bishop May Face 3 Years In Prison For Anti-Gay Hate Speech

Screen Shot 2015-08-11 at 7.03.39 AM

A Swiss Catholic Bishop was charged with “inciting people to crimes,” after he delivered a hate filled sermon of Leviticus at a German debate on marriage and family on July 31.

Swiss Bishop Vitus Huonder cited the go-to anti-gay passage of Leviticus 20:13 that if a man lies with a man as he lies with a woman…they shall surely be put to death, with Huonder adding “suffice to clarify unambiguously the church’s position on homosexuality,” implying that the Catholic Church condones violence toward LGBT people.

As Newsweek reports, Bishop Huonder’s sermon caused a stir in both Switzerland and Germany, gaining the attention of the Pink Cross, the Swiss Gay Federation. The group filed a criminal complaint against Hounder after concerns that his sermon would legitimize and inspire followers to commit violence against LGBT people.

Bishop Huonder faces three years in prison if convicted. Hounder issued an apology although he mistakenly listed the wrong date of his speech in his statement:

“I am sorry if my 50 minute lecture in Fulda on 2 August 2015, which dealt with the biblical basis for marriage and family, was understood as diminishing homosexual people.

“This was not my intention. During the lecture I quoted several uncomfortable passages from the Old Testament to do with marriage, sexuality and family. I want to clarify that I… would in no way wish to diminish homosexual people.”

Huonder’s anti-gay views run contrary to popular opinion in his home nation of Switzerland where over 50 percent of the nation’s population supports gay marriage as of February 2015.

Biphobia Is a Destructive Force in Our Community — And It Needs to Stop

Biphobia Is a Destructive Force in Our Community — And It Needs to Stop
Biphobia has a destructive impact on bisexual people’s lives. It pushes many of us to hide in the closet to avoid ridicule and rejection. It can affect our well-being and sense of identity. It makes it harder for us to develop confidence and be assertive about who we are.

Looking back on my own experience, some relatively small incidences of biphobia had a large and negative effect on my life.

I first came out when I was 19 to a straight girlfriend. She was taken aback, but seemed pleased that I wanted to be open with her.

Shortly afterwards, the jokes started.

Smiling, she asked me if I was in love with a male friend of mine. “No, why would I be?,” I replied. “I was only joking!” she said. Later, she started calling me “gay boy,” I think intending it to be a kind of in-joke. I didn’t like it, but at the time I lacked the confidence to challenge her.

Then she announced that I wasn’t bisexual after all. She’d consulted with a gay friend of hers who told her that bisexual men didn’t exist. I was just a confused straight person looking for attention. To her, I fancied myself as a latter-day Lord Byron figure, trying to mark myself out as different and special.

I admit that back then, I liked being told by someone that I was really straight. I didn’t want to be bisexual, and the fact that I knew in my heart that I was, and always would be bi, made me unhappy.

On the day we split up, she didn’t waste the opportunity to tease me about my professed bisexuality. “Bisexual then!” she said, shaking her head, “Really? What a silly boy you are!” We didn’t speak much after that.

Her denial and mockery expressed not only her biphobia, but her difficulty in accepting that I might be telling the truth. By turning it into a joke, she was able to erase the possibility of bisexuality, and fit me into a simpler category that made sense to her.

She was unaware, however, that her actions had a serious impact on my sense of identity. Having plucked up the courage to come out to her (the first person I had ever come out to), it felt like a slap in the face not to be taken seriously. I was learning that honesty about my sexuality could cause problems.

2015-08-10-1439242147-9060726-2.JPG

A few years later, I mentioned to a friend that I was bisexual. I wanted to share this fact about myself to ease the burden of my shame and discomfort. I wanted someone else to know and accept who I was. My friend seemed uncomfortable with the news. He told me that when men say they’re bisexual, they’re actually gay. He didn’t seem to want to discuss it further. I didn’t want to argue. I knew that the recognition I needed was not going to come from him. We didn’t discuss it again.

I decided it would be safer not to talk about my bisexuality anymore. I went back into the closet and stayed there until my late 20s.

Nowadays, as an openly bisexual 30-something man, I respond assertively to biphobic comments and beliefs. But as a younger man, I wasn’t confident enough to challenge such ignorance, and instead retreated into myself.

The strange thing is that the two people I first came out to were people who I liked, who liked me, and who in other ways treated me well. Somehow, though, they couldn’t cope with the idea of me being bisexual.

I was a victim of biphobia, but so were they. They had absorbed society’s biphobia, and when confronted with a bisexual person, they didn’t know what to do but rely on the misguided ideas and stereotypes about bisexuals that still persist in our culture.

Since I came out to everyone in my late 20s, I’ve been lucky, for the most part, to find the acceptance and recognition that I wanted. I’ve been able to develop a sense of confidence in my sexuality, and I feel happy now about being bisexual. I know from experience that feeling comfortable about your bisexuality is something that you can learn, despite the existence of biphobia.

It would have been so much easier though, if I’d received a warm welcome, rather than prejudice, when I first came out.

Ambitious British architects are raising funds to build Minas Tirith

Ambitious British architects are raising funds to build Minas Tirith

One does not simply make a fictional city come alive without the necessary funds.

That’s why a British team of architects and structural engineers have set themselves an ambitious goal: raise £1.85 billion (€2.6 billion, $2.88 billion) to make their dream of building one of literature’s most iconic strongholds come true – Minas Tirith, City of the Kings.

Passionate about the world of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, the team want to ‘challenge the common perception of community and architecture’, according to their indiegogo site, and create ‘not only the most remarkable tourist attraction on the planet, but also a wonderfully unique place to live and work.’

The perks available range from being immortalized in a Monument to naming a street to owning a luxury four bedroom penthouse.

Of the requested money, most will be used for building costs: an estimated £15 million (€21.09 million, $23.37million) will be paid for land, £188 million (€26.43 million, $ 29.3 million) for labor and the lion’s share – 1.4 billion (€1.96 billion, $2.18 billion) – will pay for material; any excess money will finance the city’s public services.

Once finished, the five-tiered Minas Tirith replica will be a fully functioning city; a mix of residential and commercial properties is set to ensure a high quality of life while also allowing for sustainable growth.

The price of residential properties depends on their location and the standard to which they’re furnished – quality will vary from two to four stars and apartment sizes can be anything from one to four bedrooms.

If everything goes to plan, the team has their sights set on two possible, still undisclosed, locations in southern England and are aiming for building to commence by the end of 2016, to be completed in 2023.

Stabber who killed teen at Jerusalem Pride admitted to psychiatric ward

Stabber who killed teen at Jerusalem Pride admitted to psychiatric ward

An extremist rabbi who killed a teen and injured five others at Jerusalem Pride is in a psychiatric ward in order to assess whether he is fit to stand trial.

Yishai Shlissel stabbed six marchers with a kitchen knife at Jerusalem Pride on 30 July. One of the victims, 16-year-old Shira Banki, died in hospital three days later.

He was released from prison three weeks before the attack, after having spent 10 years in prison for a previous knife attack at the 2005 Pride.

Channel 10 reports Shlissel had experienced a psychotic episode in 2009, had undergone extensive treatment in a special facility and was forced to take medication.

Before the parade, he was described as a ‘danger’ after he had written about his intentions two weeks before. Despite this, he was not summoned to report to police before or during the march.

Since the killing, it has raised questions of the failure of the police and how the city can better protect the LGBTI community.

Some have also come forward to praise Shlissel, such as the extremist group Faithful Judaism. The group have put up posters applauding the stabbings as an ‘act of self sacrifice’.

‘May all of the people of God be zealous as you,’ one reads, while expressing hope that similar attacks be carried out in the future.

Another, titled Blessed are you Rabbi Yishai, quotes a verse from the Old Testament: ‘Whoever spills the blood of the wicked is as if he brought a sacrifice.’

DVD: “Match,” “Alto,” “I Am Chris Farley,” & More!

DVD: “Match,” “Alto,” “I Am Chris Farley,” & More!

8139972_orig

Patrick Stewart rocks starring as a bisexual dance teacher in this week’s Match, which leads a tight week in home entertainment. Late comedian Chris Farley gets feted in a documentary, and American Idol‘s Diana DeGarmo plays lesbian in Sapphic romcom Alto (above).

Scroll down for more details and trailers!

Match

($24.99 DVD; IFC Films)

Patrick Stewart turns in a bravura performance as Tobias, a flamboyant queer Julliard dance instructor who is confronted with the possibility that he may have fathered a child during his freewheeling, sexual youth. Matthew Lillard and Carla Gugino co-star — as a young couple visiting New York to interview Tobias about his past — in writer/director Stephen Belber’s adaptation of his own play, but Stewart truly rules the screen here.

I Am Chris Farley

(VOD)

SNL legend Chris Farley’s all-too-brief career and life is recounted in this documentary featuring plenty of rare footage of his Second City days — where he created his insane motivational speaker character and “in a van down by the river” schtick — and interviews with Mike Myers, Molly Shannon, Christina Applegate and many others. While this definitely qualifies as a hagiography, with overuse of triumphant music throughout and redundant descriptive commentary about the clips we see, there are some brilliant bits of footage and Myers in particular supplies great anecdotes. You are missed, Chris.

Alto

($19.95 DVD; Cinema Libre)

In writer/director Mikki del Monico’s lesbian romcom, American Idol‘s Diane DeGarmo plays Frankie, a rocker engaged to a nice Italian guy who, after discovering what could be the body of a mob hit in her rental car’ss trunk, has a meet cute with a mafia don’s daughter, Nicolette. Wuh-oh! Mobsters and lesbian romance, oh my! Annabella Sciorra and Orange Is The New Black‘s Lin Tucci are amongst the co-stars, while DeGarmo and all-girl band Antigone Rising provide music as well. Extras include bloopers, deleted scenes, and behind the scenes featurette. Fun fact: one of film’s few openly transgender directors, del Monico came out to his family as male during the film’s production.
