The Golden Girls Meet Troop Beverly Hills, Plus Three Other New Music Videos We Love
With everyone frantically trying to predict the official song of summer ’15, we’re down to simply relax and check out some fairly new, indisputably great music. Scroll down to see a few of our recent favorites.
Jenny Lewis, “She’s Not Me”
Lewis, a former child actress who appeared on The Golden Girls and in the fondly-remembered comedy Troop Beverly Hills, draws on both credits for the video for her latest single from her 2014 album The Voyager. Zosia Mamet, Fred Armisen and Vanessa Bayer lend some comedic assistance.
French Horn Rebellion, “Dancing Out (Blende Remix)”
The Brooklyn-based duo (who also happen to be brothers) have remixed their massively-entertaining album Next Jack Swing, Pt. 1, ahead of a nationwide tour. The new single features the missing-too-long vocals of ’80s hit machine Jody Watley.
Years & Years, “King”
Get ready to become obsessed with this deep-house band featuring out frontman Olly Alexander. They’ve already taken the U.K. by storm, where this single debuted at number one in March, and they’re poised for the same success in the states when their stunning debut album Communion is released in July.
Stewart Taylor, “Liberation”
Glam pop performer Stewart Taylor’s first single from his self-titled EP is a straightforward anti-bullying anthem about coming out and finding empowerment in self-acceptance that might appeal to fans of vintage Lady Gaga.

WATCH LIVE: Rick Santorum Announces His 2016 Presidential Bid
Former Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) is today announcing his second bid for the White House. The rabidly anti-gay candidate first ran for President in 2012, relying on the support of evangelical voters to land him in second place during the Republican Party’s primary. As we reported earlier today, Santorum faces an uphill battle towards his party’s nomination this time around given the already crowded field in which he finds himself.

Oscar-Winning Former Child Star Tatum O’Neal Announces She’s Dating Women Now
Proving that it’s never too late to be true to yourself, even for a precocious former child star, Tatum O’Neal has announced that she’s now dating women.
“I like women,” O’Neal tells People magazine. “I definitely have been dating mostly women recently.” The now 51-year-old actress avoids labeling her orientation and only says, “I’m not one or the other.”
She does, however note that she currently prefers the company of females. “I think women are the most amazing creatures on earth,” she says. “They’re gentle, and also more intelligent than the men that I’ve met recently. I don’t have a steady right now, but I look forward to it.”
O’Neal won immense fame and an Academy Award as best supporting actress for her film debut in the 1973 comedy Paper Moon, in which she costarred with her father Ryan as a pair of Depression-era con artists. She soon garnered a reputation as Hollywood’s premiere wild child, hitting nightclubs with Cher and Michael Jackson before she was old enough to legally drink. In her 2004 memoir A Paper Life, O’Neal chronicled her rocky relationship with her famous father, her turbulent marriage to tennis champ John McEnroe and her long battle with drug addiction and revealed that she was molested by her father’s drug dealer when she was 12.
Among O’Neal’s other notable professional credits are a memorable episode of Sex and the City, the 1976 little league baseball comedy The Bad News Bears and the raunchy summer camp comedy Little Darlings. Kristy McNichol, who costarred with O’Neal in the latter 1980 hit, came out as lesbian in 2012.

North Carolina House Debates Anti-Gay Marriage Recusal Bill
Happening now, North Carolina’s House of Representatives is debating SB#2, a magistrates recusal bill which would allow public officials to opt out of marrying same-sex couples if they have “sincerely held religious” objections to same-sex marriage. The bill cleared a house panel earlier today which allowed it to reach the floor for debate.
A House judiciary panel agreed Wednesday to give the option to magistrates and some registers of deeds employees, but they would have to stop performing marriage duties for all couples. […]
Civil gay marriage ceremonies started last October after federal courts struck down the state’s constitutional gay marriage ban.
Rep. Dean Arp of Monroe says the bill would balance requirements legalizing same-sex marriage with the rights of those who believe such unions are morally wrong. But Rep. Grier Martin of Raleigh says the bill would discriminate against gay couples.
You can watch the proceedings LIVE here.
If you live in North Carolina, you can contact your legislator and make your opinion on the bill known here.
